[Q] wpa-supplicant samsung galaxy tab 10.1

Somehow managed to delete the stock android 3.1 wpa_supplicant, so now I have no wifi.
Could someone please provide a copy 3.1 please. This is for a samsung galaxytab 10.1
Thanks. I feel dumb...
+1 I deleted it while trying to get ad-hoc working with the alternate supplicant.
Installing that one left me in the mode of failing to start wifi.
Now just need to go back!
Plus 1 I need one too please

[Q] Ad-Hoc

Greetings to all. I have ROM prime 1.6. At me such problem. There is no return through wi-fi. Speed of return - 0. An access point - Ad-Hoc, created through Connectify me. What can it be? Forgive for my English
I'm not sure if ad hoc is possible on the Transformer. I've tried rooting mine and changing the wpa supplicant file with one that was supposed to work. No luck.
If anyone else has a way to get the Transformer to connect via ad hoc, I'm all ears.

Used a custom kernel?

I have my Asus transformer connecting to my iPhone which uses an adhoc type of connection
All ive done was add the wpa_supplicant to my Asus's System/bin and replaced the WPA that was there... oh by the way backup the old one before u replace it...
yout will need root access, root explorer and the modified Wpa_supplicant file
I used the search feature of this forum and found this for you -
adhoc thread 1
adhoc thread 2
adhoc thread 3
Mine works fine with my Hero running an adhoc spot.
Interesting... can I just confirm something?
So in order for my TF101 to detect and use Ad Hoc connections, i must do the following.
1. Root my TF 101
2. Replace the wpa_supplicant file
3. Have my Nokia 5800 run JoikuSpot
4. Done!
Sorry, i'm really new to this.

[Q] anyone have the original wpa_supplicant file for p6210, wifi stopped working

So, i did something stupid and followed instructions to allow my samsung tablet gt p6210 to accept ad-hoc wifi tethering from my smartphone. it said to replace the wpa_supplicant file with another one and ever since the wifi won't turn on. i made a system back-up before, using titanium backup, but even when i restored it, nothing worked. i'm wondering whether doing a factory restore will help? or if anyone can give me a working wpa_supplicant file (the original) so i can have my wi-fi back. please!

Ad-hoc wpa_supplicant

Has anybody looked for, or found a working wpa_supplicant that allows the tab to tether off another device?
D
.
I've been hoping for that. If only someone would make one...
FWIW - I tried a lot of things to get tethered to my Droid X. I finally settled on WiFi Tether for Root Users which puts the X in the infrastructure mode.
You probably already know this: http://www.xda-developers.com/android/android-ad-hoc-wireless-network-support/
What's the advantage of ad hoc over infrastructure?
Samsung Tab 2 10.1 w/ 4.0 ICS - cannot access adhoc networks
I just got my Tab 2 10.1 with 4.0 ICS. I rooted it and then tried putting the wpa_supplicant file mentioned in these forums in the system bin directory with permissions of 755 while in airplane mode. When I reboot, and try to turn on wi-fi, it just hangs with "Turning Wi-Fi on..". When I put the original wpa_supplicant file back and reboot, everything works again.
I notice that the patched wpa_supplicant file is only 295,964 bytes long whereas the original wpa_supplicant file is 569,140 bytes long so it would appear at least that in ICS there has been a lot of code added?
Is there a wpa_supplicant file that allows adhoc mode that works on the new Samsung Tab 2 10.1 with 4.0 ICS?

i've been using that app from my ns4g. works like a charm.
I have exact the same problem.
Hope for a solution (a working wpa_supplicant file)
Has anyone run across a solution to get Ad-hoc working on the Galaxy Tab 2's? I've tried numerous wpa_supplicants, numerous ROMs, searches, etc. with no luck...
Thanks.
Same here. Feel desperate.
I googled for 3 days with no luck. Try serverl wpa_supplicants resulted in a halted "turn on wifi"...
I know there is a solution in os 2.3.6(coz I tried it before on a old tab P1000)...
is it possible to downgrade a Tab 2 (P3110) from os 4.0.3(stock) to 2.3.6??
The reason I need this:
I got an iphone 3GS which can ONLY setup an ad-hoc network for my tab to connect to.
(while an iphone 4 can share in infrastructure mode)
Need help
Hi there,
Would someone PLEASE upload their original wpa_supplicant and send it to me, has i obnoxiously failed to backup my original one before attempting to use a 3rd party wpa_supplicant?
My wifi still isn´t working AT ALL.
I´m using a 7 inch galaxy tab 2 with android 4.0.4
THANKS!!!!
I suffered the same problem...just dont bother to load wpa files etc.....
flash stock firmware....thats it !!!
theres not much to do when files are corrupt....

[Q] ad-hoc issue

hi, recently i bought the new transformer TF700 and i want to connect to internet through ad-hoc but when i find and connect to ad-hoc SSID in wireless page of TF700 the process stay on obtaining ip... and nothing to do ..., i know if i want connect to ad-hoc have to make root system and then change the file .... but i try to find the way that wont need to root system.any Buddy know any solution to do it ???
thanks
Do yourself a favor and just root the device. It's completely reversible and does not void your warranty.
Otherwise, you will forever be looking for "workarounds" to do things that are easily done when rooted...
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 2
thanks for your advice, but if i want root the device that has ICS how can i do it?would you inform me, and then the right file that can resolve my ad-hoc problem which is useful for TF700.
thanks alot
a very quick look through the forms produced

I tried rooting TF700, but still cannot connect to ad hoc with windows 7.
I tried all the possible ways. Or am i missing some important step?
Perhaps the adhoc connection is set up incorrectly. I have an adhoc connection set up with joikuspot on a symbian device and I did not have to modify anything or even root my tf700
