Removing "OK" from Unlocking process? - HTC Inspire 4G

Hi,
I'm wondering if there is a way to remove this annoying requirement when you unlock your screen. I'm liking Android, but I like how iPhone just logs you in as soon as you type in the correct passcode. I want my Android to do that too rather than having to hit "ok" each time I log in.
GT

are you just using the stock sense rom that came on the phone?
there are different lock screens you can use, and there are certain apps that can modify lockscreen behavior as well.

I'm using GTG's ROM (Stock Rom, rooted, S-off, HSUPA, sideload, etc).
I've looked around, but I don't see an option to disable "ok" requirement.
I'm hoping that there's a hack to make it not require that step.

Personally, I use widget locker. It's a great app for just a few bucks. It's available in the market. It's really customizable and works great on every device I've had.

[Q] Skyrocket and Go SMS Auto Reply

Hello all,
Wondering if someone can help me here...
I have spent a considerable of time modifying the Skyrocket and I must say it was worth it! I do use Go Launcher Pro and it really is quite impressive.
With that said, I do use other screen widgets but do use a few Go applications. One of them that I just installed is Go SMS. I absolutely love this and have set everything just about right. However, I don't like one particular feature and it seem it is simply not possible to change it (for obvious reasons). That is the auto reply option. I've tested it for hours and it does work quite well. Only a couple of times it did not execute. However, what I would like is a way to change that default auto reply text? Is there a way? Yes, I can add some custom text but that default "(From GO SMS auto reply)" still appears. I just can't seem to take it out.
Wondering if someone knows how to do this?
Much appreciated!

I would love to know that, too. Also more text to this auto-reply would be fine ...
You might be better off contacting the go dev team. There might be a way to do it but I am pretty sure if there is no setting for it in the app, you will have to decompile, hack and recompile the app...

Go software is crap. Huge ram usage and way too many cached images. My suggestion is dump go and use something like nova or apex and use handcent if you want a different messaging app. The aosp one is nice, it has popup in cm ROMs

[Q] Possible to Combine Widgets Without Root?

Hello there everyone. I have many widgets that I use on my device, and each of them come with different sizes. Because of that, it takes forever to scroll through all of them, even when in reality, I only have 20 different ones in total (But if each has 10 sizes, it adds up...) I found an app that combines them, but it requires root. (Or does it? Here.) I believe that Cyanogen does this on it's own, but I don't want to root my phone or change ROMs because I would be unable to pay for a new phone if something were to go wrong, nor do I have a spare to get me by if it was bricked. I know apps like WidgetLocker override stock apps without root, is there a way to do that with the widget selector?
Also, is the selector a function of the launcher, not the operating system? I'm using GoLauncher if that makes a difference.
Thank you very much.
So it is not possible to achieve the picker I want without root?
In that case, is there a foolproof, 100% successful way to root and change roms? All of the ROM threads I see have endless posts of bugs, things not working, and bricked phones. They also throw around lots of terms (Like flash this... But to where?) without explanations for noobs like me.
Can anyone help me out?
Hi there,
Think you can try Golauncher Pro, it let's you to custom the number of icon you can put on the home screens (default 4 by 4 ) and also lets you to resize the widgets.. hope that's what you are looking for.

[Q] Flash custom lockscreens?

I'm sick of the "drag screen to unlock" screen and I'm looking for something more like the unlock screen from the newest Cyanowiz ROM, especially because it's pretty convenient to have a loud/silent drag switch on the lockscreen.
I was wondering if there are any flashable zip files that allow me to put this (or a similar) lockscreen on my current ROM, which I'm very happy with (TPC v3).
Thanks!
go locker has themed, or any other alternative lock app
Try miui home its pretty sweet

I use widgetlocker, works pretty well for me and there's a ton of support for it.

Click to collapse
I concur. There's also a root helper mode which will replace your unlock screen on reboot. It's really handy, and mostly bug free. I really enjoy being able to slap widgets on my lock screen too. On top of that, you can select what kind of unlock action you want, and what swipes do what. Etc.

[Q] a simple lockscreen needed

Is there a single lock screen app that does just the basics ; show upcoming appointments, missed calls messages and some short cut to few apps ? HTC lock screen did all this and i dont see a single one available for nexus 5.
Cover is nice but shows no notifications
dashclock is nice but android 4.4 for some stupid reason wont show the widget full length and shows the lock pin pad for half the screen by default.
Dashclock has a feature, that collapses all widgets. That will cause it to show all the important stuff, as soon as your screen is unlocked, having you drag the little lockpad on the bottom upwards or tapping on it to bring up the keyguard.
Edit: Also go to settings>lock screen>widgets and check maximize widgets.

i do not see any such option.. My understanding is android in 4.4 forces you(widgets) to run minimize mode by default and a system apk needs a change to fix this https://code.google.com/p/dashclock/wiki/FAQ . did you get around this somehow?
Its probably worth mentioning that I am using beanstalk. I completely derped and forgot other Roms/non-root exist. I really don't know how the situation is, with third-party programs, but I guess you could look around for some app that forces the expanded/maximized view. Sorry I couldn't be of much help.

is the beanstalk rom stable enough to use on my nexus5? basic functions like camera, calls, bluetooth should work fine.. ( CM for nexus 5 is not reached stable release yet)
Almost all roms here are stable enough for everyday use. Just because they aren't labeled stable, doesn't mean they aren't stable.

You can also root and run XPosed Module - there is an option in Gravity Box that forces widgets to be maximized on the lockscreen by default.
Another app you may want to look at is Widget Locker:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker&hl=en
It costs a few bucks, but you can customize it to your liking.
i ended up rooting the phone ( CF auto root) and getting xposed framework and installing the maximize widget module. works fine with dash clock now. Should have done the root day 1 i got my nexus 5

[Q] Custom Lockers

I'm the type of person that loves customization, but only if it looks professional. I was wondering if custom lockers that are available from the play store are legitimate or are they just "apps". By that I mean, if I'm using a custom one, will there ever be a time where a lack of ram can cause it to bug out like not opening, are they going to show my homescreen for a second before running, ect? If so, what makes them different from the stock lock screen? Is the stock locker an app? Is there any way to make a lock screen part of the system? I am rooted and I'm using stock rom, mainly because my phone, ZTE N9810, has no development on it.
