EDiT: vxUtil 'll do the job 4U.
Have fun pinging
Sorry for the late reply but...Uh..that does not seems to be the Blackberry ping messenger....It seems more like the real "Ping" from/for windows platforms...
But anyway I got a full understanding that HTC cannot have it unlike iPhone or android OS got watzzup..Winmo sucks....
Stupid
Iphone sucks, we agree on that
When you say "ping" everyone understand the REAL ping from Windows or Linux or Unix or android lol
If you want to talk about instant messagery and a software called ping, I think you will find more than enough in the Windows Mobile world. Why not try IM+ for exemple.
Do you really use a blackberry ?

Hi. I'm running a T-Mobile Dash with Windows Mobile 6, and I'm looking for a free IM client that can connect to AIM, at least. I know Windows Live gives me Pocket MSNIM, but only a tiny minority of my friends use that. The on-board Oz Instant Messenger refuses to work with AT&T, and I just get error messages, so I'm kind of at a stand-still right now.
The other thing I'm looking for is a lower priority, I'm trying to find an SSH client for my SmartPhone too. PocketPuTTY, I've heard of, but I can't seem to find it. Again, I'm cheap, so I'm hoping for something free.
There's one catch to all this: I'm running a Mac, so EXE installers are no-go. CABs and SFX (Self-Extracting ZIPs) are usable, but anything more complex isn't going to work.
Thanks for all the help!

Welcome to XDA-Dev
Rule of thumb: follow my articles - I've published full Bibles and roundups on almost all aspects of handheld computing. Your question is answered in the Smartphone General forum, at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=323654
Let me know if you need help in extracing the CAB file of any EXE installers - I'll upload it for you.
Oohh, useful!
Well, thank you. Your article was thorough, and (in the end) informative. I was aware of Mundu, IM+ and Imov messengers, and I was hoping someone had an alternative to them that was free. Your article eventually lead me to the Basic version of Imov, but the problem is that it's one of those set-up EXEs that I can't seem to crack. I've managed to find a download of Imov Basic 1.22, and I'd be willing to provide it for you.
Thank you for the offer, and all the help.
is there any cracked verson available for mundu

Since I don't see it mentioned, you may be able to use PocketPuTTY,
http://www.pocketputty.net/ ,
for a SSH application. It works for me. The file that you download while named PocketPuTTY.exe is a Windows Mobile binary. Just copy it to your phone and run it. Hope it works for you.
So regarding IM clients Do they all use webgateways provided by the Makers. Are there any that directly connect to the AIM, Yahoo!, and MSN Servers?
Not that I walk around wearing a tinfoil hat. but I just like to know where my data is being sent.
Octro Chat uses one. But I can't find any info as to if mundu uses one. If they all use it I will get over it but I was just curious is anyone knew.
pocket putty doesnt run on smartphones just ppc. i am also looking for a free shh client for smartphone (wm standard)
if your looking for just aim..this is about as good as your gonna get lol
I would like to request a Ping application, like iPhone and BlackBerry have.
I know there are some ports from BB OS's for the HD2 but I won't install it as I want to remain on some edited OS for the HD2. I do want to Ping with some others that have a BlackBerry / iPod / iPhone.
If you can get this on the Windows Market this can be a huge moneymaker aswell I mean I would pay €5 for it and I think almost every HD2 user will do.
Thanks to the coders! You make our Mobile world rock
Have you seen this freeware program:
http://www.pocketpcfreeware.mobi/download-pocket-ping-v1-6.html
vxUtil (Personal) for Windows CE
If you need the other network utilities, it's here and it's FREE.

This ain't Ping applications to send someone a message. These are just to get a "Ping Response" like you can do with your PC "Ping {IP}"

The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 10 characters.
Hello guys...i need your help...
I cant find the QIK program for livestream with HD2...
Do you have any ideas?
Hi, AFAIK Qik does not have a working client for the HD2. Ironic considering it's one of the most powerful smartphones. I think they've been pressed by the competition to not support the HD2 and threatened them that they will change their terms and conditions specifically to block their software from their marketplace ;-)
Guys dont be suprised. Windows Phone will be relased soon, so im SURE, that Microsoft pressing developers to not relase apps for WM 5 and 6.
Maybe you think im crazy, but Google some in Internet. Last news informing, that Microsoft employees got free Windows Phones from they bosses, but they must everyone must write apps for this platform. M$ "fat fishes" giving even all needed STK's and tools to start programing now.
Other news is that M$ will pay to external companies if they will rewrite iPhone apps to Windows Phone.
So only future which i see for HD2 is Android ROM's.
Just use Google and find that.

Thank you for that really helpful reply...
Hey Guys,
1) sorry if this has come up before, search-fu is weak and nothign relevant seems to come up with the "Similar threads" thing.
2) My provider has all but forced me off Windows Mobile, which is fine, since with sideloading being such a hard task on WM7, and that I would have to pay alot to get a WM7 handset and go up monthly fees too, i'm not too fussed.
So i've taken the plunge and gone for an Android phone, trouble is I have a few apps on my old windows mobile device I would love to run on Android... number 1 priority being TomTom Navigator, which yes, I could repay for, but I don't see why I should have to.
So, is there any software in the works that will let me run Windows Mobile based apps on an Android phone?
many thanks
Sorry for bringing an old topic back into the daylight, but I have the same thought. I definately need some apps of WM running on Android when I'll buy my new phone, so this kind of emulator would be a major reason to switch from my outdated Touch Pro. Couldn't something like Haret be created, just to run Windows Mobile, not Android?
There is no, for now
thanks for clearing that out, that's a pitty. But how about the future? Is it at least theorically possible to create something to have this kind of dual boot? Would Android community and developers be interesting in this?
Yeah I wish that was possible, but no.
