Do you know what kind of technology those RFID chips use? They have to be the of the correct technology for them to work.
Nfc is activated in settings. I'm pretty sure they are the right tech.. ill havs to find some more

Make sure your tags are 15.36MHz type and not the oh-so-very-common 125KHz ones. The NFC only works with 15.36MHz tags. If you are not sure of what you have, you probably have the 125KHz ones (very common for access control etc).

Nexus S can't read 125Khz ? (disappointment)

I noticed in the build.prop there are a couple parameters for NFC, does this tablet have an NFC chip?
Nope, it doesn't.
(Now that was easy! )
Its really a shame no one makes a USB based NFC solution.
I mean it would only make sense, cause you could even use it with a pc for various tasks.

Humm... thats a good question. I would think that the metal backing would hinder performance... but its not completely covered.

That's a good questions for sure, would be cool if it did. Anyone else know?
And why would there be NFC parameters in the build.prop file if there's no chip?

Use NFC without cell signal
I still keep a Nexus S 4g but use it as wifi only device, the NFC wallet still works. Here is a video of me using it.

Maybe a next version of Moto G with cdma for US came with NFC!!
The Nexus 5 has NFC, so my assumption is that it's baked into KitKat and they just didn't remove the setting toggle. I don't think it's indicative of anything. ALTHOUGH, it seems like I read somewhere that there is some sort of 'nfc emulation' option included in KitKat...not sure how the hell that works, but perhaps that's its toggle? In either case, I don't think it's indicative of anything insofar as the MotoG is concerned.

Host Card Emulation - requires an NFC controller though.
I'm guessing someone screwed up and added the Tags app to the build even though it won't work.
ohh i fought maby theres an nfc chip and it has to be enabled like miracast

I doubt that, its most likely a QC screw up. NFC is not that expansive, so if they wanted to add it to the Moto G, they would have.
Strangely there are NFC-related files in the kernel source. I don't know whether they did something silly like include the chip with no antenna (there were numerous rumors Samsung did this on the I9100 in preparation for the I9100P and I777...), or of maybe we have a bunch of Moto X stuff mixed into our kernel source (due to Moto trying to maintain a common baseline)
Hey xda-community
little question. Does anyone know how to use Wifi and LTE at the same time?
I using a OBDII scanner with WIFI connection and will use my Internet over LTE @ the same time because some apps for the car needs Internet-connection.
Thank you for helping.

Try enabling Developer Options and then toggling "Keep mobile data turned on". See if that helps. And by the way what ODB II scanner/diagnostic program are you using that requires both WiFi (instead of bluetooth) and internet to function? That sounds like an incredibly poor way to simply run codes and whatnot.
Tried and doesn't work. I use SmartControl (Paid Version). Since i use the Superman-Rom, it has a bug and need to verificate with PlayStore if i start it. (Fixed with LuckyPatcher now xD)
But i need the connection for realtime traffic-informationen from google and other similar apps. My car hasn't the realtime-traffic information function. :/
Best option might be to eat the loss and just buy an OBDII scanner with Bluetooth instead of the WiFi version.

I've never actually used the wifi version, but I have no issues with speed or sample rates with a bluetooth scanner. Though I spent the little bit extra for a high quality scanner vs one of those generic $15 ebay specials. Nothing wrong with those if you want to just occasionally check codes, but if you're doing logging and stuff, they're not really that reliable.

I use the OBDLink LX scanner. Currently $49 on Amazon http://a.co/eXdi9J6 It has great refresh rates, and a secure connection so not just anyone can walk up and pair with it.
The OBDLink MX is a little more but supports a few extra protocols if you need it.
What ODB II scanner do you have? You still haven't listed it..

Are you asking about what software/apps I use? I use Torque Pro, OBDLink, and NissanDataScan II and III (NDSII, NDSIII).

Oh nice. I think I'll buy this too. Thanks. :good::victory:
Some newer phones (maybe becasue of Nougat?) a feature where the lock screen does not come up if you are hooked to specific blue tooth devices, or on specific WiFi points.
Does the Mate 9 have that capability?
For Bluetooth devices, I believe it works out of the box. For wifi, someone posted a tutorial here how to make it work.

For Bluetooth it works. Using a mi band to bypass the lock screen. Just use unlock with trusted Bluetooth device.
I don't know what mi band is.
So only blue tooth, not by wifi or location? I don't hook to BT in the house. Makes little sense to not offer the feature for when a person is home. I would presume most don't hook to BT at home, at least not all the time.

Thanks. I see. Just have it hooked to that all the time. I'm thinking not ideal, but I guess would do the job.
