[Q] making a holophonic sounds app - Android Apps and Games

I just made a holophonic microphone (holophonics basically means 3D sound thats near perfect while wearing headphones) look it up.
I am going to make an app with various holophonic sounds in it that I will record myself.
Please give me cool suggestions of what I should record (other than stuff like "hair cut")

I think nature sounds like ocean waves as they.crash onto the shore or a thunderstorms. Those should be a good start

I released two of them so far just as tech demos
check them out!

(Its the top two)

Hot girls moaning

@nautious - lol that was one of my first ideas (maybe later) lol

I'm thinking of making a "pro" version that has around 50 or more sounds. Would anyone buy it do you think? (I've sold sound apps before, but I am curious about how well this one could do)

I very nice and funny new app converted from the Iphone

The interactive Puff! iPhone app which lets you “blow” up cute Japanese girls’ skirts by blowing on the mic of your phone. The harder you blow, the higher the skirt goes and the girl’s squeal. Now the app has been ported to Windows Mobile. The app is in Chinese or Japanese ( I have no clue ) the menu is on the top of the screen and there are some predefined models that the app comes with. The harder you blow in the mic the high the skirt goes ..
Here is a video: http://www.viddler.com/explore/wmArcade/videos/25/
This is still the 0.1 version.

very funny!
funny .... but you have to blow pretty hard !!!
nice
applicable looks great, but watch out during the blow in the microphone of your HTC the chance that you've fought in your phone because of your blows, i blow to much in to my phone for a split second it freeze it.
but still a nice app loll
One of those useless iPhone apps to add to the thousands they already have lol.

Do you 'root' the rest of your life too?

Most of us her root our phones to suck every last bit of potential out of them.
I'm curious if most of us 'root' the rest of our lives fro the same reason as well.
For example, I pulled the stock intake out of my car and put in a high flow intake system. I don't race or even drive like a maniac, just like I don't use my rooted phone to do too much more than make phone calls and browse the web. I just like that I can make my car a little more fuel efficient and get a little more power for acceleration when I need it.
Back to phone, I did the silicone mod to the Sensation to keep the dust out because waiting for it to get bad and need a replacement seemed like a dumb plan.
My computer....Linux OS. (I'm sure a good number of us do that one, but damn you Dell and you proprietary wifi drivers that take hours to hack to get working!)
I put a double blade on my mulching lawnmower so it mulches twice as well in half the time.
I couldn't survive without my Logitech Harmony remote for my entertainment system, the one that lets you flash custom button mapping and macros to the remote so single button presses turn on the TV, DVD player, and switch the stereo from Cable to DVD while turning off the DVD player. (Seriously....I could not live without this.)
I have a custom designed Windows 2000 based computer in my car running better GPS software on a 7 inch monitor than you can get in the newest Garmin device. Also runs my music and car diagnosis with an OBII interface into the car's main engine management computer. All with easy and safe to use touchscreen design in front of the shifter. (Emphasis on safe to use) And it looks like it came out of the factory with this computer installed, thank you very much.
You know...this kind of stuff.
So do other people hack everything in their lives? Or just the phone?
Oh yeah, with cars I do it so much more. Aftermarket parts is what I spend a lot of money on, for example this week, I've brought a whole new receiver and headunit for my Ford Explorer, changed all four speakers, bypassed the factory amp and now I have much better sound with more quality bass.
I also had a manual transmission VW Jetta, there was something called the swiss cheese mod, where you cut holes into the intake box so the air filter/intake sucks in more air and gives it an more louder/meaner sound while accelerating.
I've had my fair share of mods, can't remember all, but mostly with cars though. Getting them out of manufacturer specs and taking it to an whole another level.
You sound like my kinda guys. My philosophy is "if you can make it better, what's stopping you?"

GTi = Golf GTi. Generally a sports edition of the platform.
I do the same, mostly with cars. I engine swapped my s10 with a Camaro 350 with cams and big carb, turbo 350 trans, 5 gallon race cell. It was a mean street truck. '87

rooting is our life ... joke ...
Naturally! I like to "root" around the house mostly. Make stuff myself instead of hiring people to do it poorly

Unfortunately, as anyone who likes to flash ROM's knows....if you can make it better, tomorrow you can make it even ore better, and even better still the next day....and so on and so forth.
There does come a time when I feel like I spend more time tweaking / building / modifying things than I ever spend actually using them.

Haha, when I had my 2.0 Jetta MKV, I was dying to have mine, look like some on JettaJunkies.
Other than that, I'm disappointed in Logitech for dropping support the Google TV Revue, and not letting devs unlock the bootloader.

Yeah, one-handed calling is a definite no-no. I tried my ASUS TF700T phone in a full train compartment, but all my fellow passengers were looking at me in a funny way. That might have been me almost screaming to get any reception in the microphone of the 700, though. Also, they could probably hear the conversation better than I did, the speaker being at the back of the phone and all.
Huh?

Ummm...glad that you are happy with it.
What you can do with it is:
Web browse
Read books
Take pictures
Shoot video
Write letters
E-mail send and receive
Play a game
Watch streaming video
Jot down hand written notes
Store files from a PC
...just a few things you can do
I don't believe you can actually use it for a phone.
Have fun with your device.

Anyone tried bluetooth for talking on the phone with tf700?
I can't see why it wouldn't assuming you have the 3g model. I've connected with a jaw bone hands free a few times for Skype etc

I've actually seen people do it. I always smirk when they try and take an artsy photograph with it -- last summer, I was witness to a group of Japanese tourists snapping pictures of the animals in a large zoo in Amsterdam (Artis, for the Dutch). Hilarious.
For the sake of information and blowing off some quirkyness: before my eye surgery, I had great eyesight and lugged around a D90 with glass in abundance on trips like that. No way I'm taking pictures with a tablet -- that would feel like being recruited into a police riot squad and getting your equipment, then noticing the rather disconcerting likeness of your baton to a large German sausage and your riot shield's resemblance to an American pizza... until you realize that they are, actually, a German sausage and a big-wheel pizza.

That... doesn't always go so well. Some idiot did that at the zoo in Dresden, too. All fun and games... Until he dropped his iPad 3 in the water at the flamingo habitat.... Then I was the only one laughing :silly:

Thanks, regard that as a compliment.
I was surprised to learn that in some countries it is actually against the law to have your digital camera not make a fake shutter sound when photographing. That seemed jaw-droppingly stupid -- as I've always hated people with digital shutter soudns, as well as people having keypad sounds on their phones (makes dialing go "beep-beepbeeeeeepbop-booop-beepbeepbeep-baab). The latter class also talks so loud when in phone conversation that there's no place to hide on the commute. I can still hear them on the other end the train -- until it was put forward that, seemingly, a high percentage of silent cameras was used to make up-skirt photos and such. Seems I missed the point entirely in having a silent camera, since I've been making pretty "decent" pictures of flowers and animals and such. There's no eroticism in that, unless you have some specific kind of sexual deviation.
I've actually used the TF700 as a phone on several occaisions with GrooveIP. It's actually pretty nice with a bluetooth headset, but I'd never put it up to my face because a) can you imagine the nasty cheek grease? and b) no proximity sensor to turn the screen off.

That might actually be an advantage: currently it's freezing over here in Holland. If I'd put the screen brightness on high and just pretend to be on the phone with somebody, I'd at least have half of my face warmed up comfortably. I wouldn't worry that much about people looking, because they probably think I'm retarded anyway.
Well, I suppose you could do VOIP through your tab. Skype and such would be a way, but that doesn't count as a telephone.

Seriously? That's ridiculous. If you have such a problem with people taking picture up your skirt, pay some bloody attention to your surroundings, it's not hard, or simply don't wear a frikkin skirt. I never saw the point of them.
Yes, let's put the sound back on our shutters. Because it's such a good plan to use a shutter sound when photographing a herd of, say, deer. Scares the bloody sh*t out of them, forget about making a second shot. Not to mention butterflies, cats... And don't get me started on people. Taking urban snaps is pretty much pointless if everyone goes either looking straight at you to see what you're doing, or runs away because they're camera shy. Evidently laws are made by morons.
That's why I'm always in the silent coupé. No idiots on phones

Simple solution: use a real phone on your other ear - or even better: buy another TF700 and use that.
1 TF700 .... $ 700
Another TF 700 .... $ 500

Cooling Fan noise?

I just got my Shield tonight! I must say it's a fun device.
I have a few non responsive apps, but if I launch again (games) they'll run fine.
I tried borderlands 2 for pc stremaing and that went just fine.
My biggest gripe? I played with it for 2 hours, then charged it for 2 hours...
fire it up and play some random games for 10 minutes, I start hearing the fine whine. NOTABLY audible . Almost as if it's borderline going to start dying anytime.
Perhaps such a really small fan makes this noise? (I just got it, how do I know what's normal?)
Can i get some other users experiences? Perhaps my fan is on death row. Manu defects do happen. who knows.
Thanks for followup.
I have heard my fan but only because it was blowing hard, so like wind noise. I have not heard a whine or any mechanical sound from it yet.
The fan in my Shield is pretty quiet, even when playing games I can't really hear it unless I put the exhaust port right up to an ear.
Sounds like you got a faulty device, bummer.
I've seen the Shield teardown today that iFixit posted, looks like Nvidia used one of those cheap and crappy Delta Electronics fans. I bought a pretty nice weed vape a year or so ago that came with a similar-looking internal fan from the same manufacturer, and it started making a loud whining noise and failed within a week. Luckily I was able to get a fan just like it online and replace it, but not without some soldering first! This fan still works a year later. Seems like those Delta fans are a crapshoot.
Sound...
When I put the fan up to my ear, I would hear a wining sound. Other than that its pretty quiet and you should make sure, if your fan is broken, or slightly damaged, not to play intense games for long periods of time it might damage the internal components.

All New HTC One Hands-On

Honestly, this kid was kind of irritating, but the M8 and UI were great. Mute the kid, listen to some dubstep and enjoy the video!

It's interesting how many folks assume this is someone that got the phone from somewhere other than his own connections with the company. It's a super impromptu recording and he's insane for letting the ID information get splashed up on the screen but otherwise, nice to see it. Hope the SD slot decides to stay!!
this is quite interesting actually.
