[Q] Is there any true 'anti-slip' case out there? - Galaxy S I9000 Accessories

Hey all,
ive been trying some of the best cases out there for my SGS including PDair, Case-Mate Though, TPU, SGP and some other cheap onens..
(the SGP one actually claims to be an anti slip material but got nothing to support it..)
Some of them have a great design, othere are very protective but non have the feature im realy looking for which is what called 'Anti-Slip'. most of my IPod cases for example had that ability in them. a simple silicone that that helps your device not slip from your hands.
Does anyone knows about any silicone case that have this?
Thanks!

Have you ever tried gel type cases - they feel like rubber and very grippy

Thanks for your reply.
I saw it before on some IPhones and didnt like its touch feeling very much. also, i think its too hard to provide a good protection..
btw, please also forgive me for any wrong word selection, english is not my mother lang

Hi there...
Did you already saw this one??
Samsung Galaxy S Commuter Series Case from OTTERBOX
Do a search on Youtube to see review...
I can't post any links yet...

I have one just like this
http://cgi.ebay.com/Samsung-Vibrant-Galaxy-S-I9000-Genuin-Mesh-Case-Red-/320605390228
Surf around and you might find a slightly better deal, but make sure its that same one. It has a very rubbery feel which doesnt slip at ALL, i loved it. Only thing is that it doesnt offer much protection from falls.

the cheapest safest option is to just put some industrial tape around your hand and stick your phone to it
this way your phone will never slip and is always in your hand.... you dont need to waste time searching your pockets ..
but the only downside i have is i have to wipe my rear with my left hand now

Seriously?! What do you do to have such slippery hands? On second thought, don't answer that
I have a Case-Mate Tough Case and that's not only "rubbery", but also very structured giving a VERY good grip. In fact, I had problems getting it in and out of my pocket, which annoyed me so much I gave it up.
If the Case-Mate Tough wasn't grippy enough, superglue is the only option (or duct tape if you're going for the not-so-permanent option)

Go get some skateboard Grit Tape. Guaranteed non slip...

Heavy duty case.

Has anyone tried one of these? It looks tough as heck and aesthetics are pretty nice as well. Gives the S a Toughbook look.

Looks like the same ones on pdair
I have a pdair from amazon.uk
i think its one of the best for 20€.
the only thing i dont like is that its very hard to touch the dropdown menu.
ps: cant post link
i would prefer a rubber case if any one knows what they are like or where to get them that would be great
i like the metal case but it think its too tough and looks like my SGS was built for war in iraq or something. i think that if it dropped with the metal case on it would still damage, but as for a nice thick rubber case, that should soak up the majority of impact when the phone hits the floor,,, or have i been watching the movie 'Flubber' too many times lol
Personal preference for a leather flip top case on most phones .

thanks for posting that... i like that alot plus its protecting the screen when im not using it... gunna invest in one of them bad boys before i drop my phone............ AGAIN
That makes the slim Galaxy S so fat!
I use mine with nothing on it. not even a screen protector. haven't got a scratch yet.. dropped it twice
I like it slim. Nice to touch and wont make me feel restrained when I walk with it in my pocket.
Back to topic, i think the pull down menu will be too hard to pull down if your fingers are big.. are you sure about it? Gonna be hell of an annoyance to use
If only that metal case doesn't have a clip at the back. I know the clip is removable, but I don't like the circle that sticks out.
If you want a tough case take a look at the Otterbox Commuter Series

My concern is about to use the volume buttons and on/off...
I like both...
I think otterbox does to phone look more better looking.
And case mate tough the phone looks realy more tough but at same time more thick as the otterbox...
Or i'm wrong??
Need help, can someone help??
Still have not found any review about the otterbox commuter for our Galaxy S I9000...

I can vouch for the case mate tough as all the buttons are easily accessible. The inner silicone sleeve actually protrudes nicely into the hard shells button slots. In other words, 3 button recovery hasn't been this easy using any other case.
I have only had 1 drop using this case (knocks on wood), and it does make a reassuring thud on impact.

[Q] What case is better Otterbox Commuter vs. Casemate?

I saw reviews on the Casemate but not the Otterbox Commuter and I was wondering by experience which of the two are better and why?
I never tried the Otterbox but I do have the active Seidio vase and Casemate Tough. The casemate is one solid case. Protection all around and it feels great.
Anyone else have any more thoughts? I was going to post the exact same question until I used the feature to search

I have the Case Mate "Barely There" and I must say it is exactly what I expected.
Good protection for the phone back, sides & lower part. The upper part (at the power button) is less protected as you can see HERE but for me it will do.
The design is perfect, it fits like a glove; all case openings for camera lens & volume buttons are at the good location, see HERE & HERE!
Also, the cover is very thin (but still plastic so still better protection than rubber) so the design of my precious Sensation isn't ruined by it.
Finally, I'd suggest to use an original HTC screenprotector together with this case. Your phone will last for years that way. I tried an external party screenprotector but that was a waste of money because of the worse fit.
Hope this helped you a bit, as you asked for Otterman comments
I have both of the cases mentioned and i like them both. They both do there job. My only gripes are that with the otter-box case i have to fully disassemble the case to use my desktop dock. I have always been a fan of otter-box and have used there cases since owning my Hd2 and will continue to be partial to them for that reason, just wished there were a kickstand on the commuter series for the sensation when you buy it.
Thanks for the feedback, how are the usb ports on the otterbox and does the flap close well?
Basically between the two you would prefer the otterbox more?
thanks again

Case mate tough case is better, otterbox seemed like cap and the silicone surrounding the phone was just bad
Sent from my HTC Sensation using Tapatalk
with my experience with the HTC Sensation Pop! Case is was ok. The silicone warped a little bit on the sides but it was very durable. Be careful when taking the phone out of this case because the silicone popped off the hard part of the case on the top.
are you referring to the case mate or otterbox?

the usb ports function well, the flap closes alright a little hard to open and close and i have used case for about four months and the silicone surround is starting to wear a bit but this is because i remove my phone frequently to use with my desktop cradle. I like the design of the otterbox more it is more ergonomic in my book. Here the way i look at it for the money casemate is a just as logical choice as the otterbox. I prefer the otterbox just becasue i like there product and had never used a casemate before. So in my opinion otterbox.
ballistic
try the ballistic case, its awesome, and its cheaper than otterbox, i bought mine off ebay, it has a silicone plus a hard plastic cover on top of it, its very cool
I've got the Casemate Tough on mine. Had it since December, and it's a great case.
Nice and grippy in the hand, but won't stick in your pocket like the silicon ones can.
The only gripes I can have with it are that it's a pain to disassemble to pull the battery or the SD card, and it could do with being in a few different colours.
I always like bright cases on my phones (yellow is a particular fave) because I do a lot of fishing, and it's always easier to see something bright yellow if you drop it or put it down in a hurry!
I'd say it's worth the money.

Is there good case without the corner cut out?

I really want a Ringke case but that cut out really urks me. I know why they have it and I know most of them have it. Any good cases without it that are like ringke or at least in the same price range?
The G2x Bodyglove Grasp case is really really nice. They used to have em at walmart (mentioning that makes it seem like a cheap case, but ignore that because it isnt), but they seem to have stopped carrying recently.

I can always return it, its not a big deal. I couldn't find much on the case on the web and YouTube. What material is it and does it collect dust and are the power and volume buttons still responsive with it on? All the TPU cases I tried they were hard for me to use the buttons.
It's hard to explain, but the buttons are made with another material so it's very comfortable to push the buttons. It feels better than without a case actually. Ill see if i can take a picture for you

I bought this case the day I bought my phone, about two months ago. It's literally the best case I've had for any device. It isn't a hard case so it feels flexible in the hand. But it isn't a gel case, either, and feels sturdy enough to withstand. I recommend this case for sure. 9/10.

It's a weird polymer material. I've never felt another case like this one. The buttons are as easy to press as the phone naked. If its like $7 as the link said, I'd pick it up. I spent $14 on mine at WalMart and would gladly do it again.
hmm...I just ordered like 2 other $2-3 ones from ebay to test them out (literally yesterday or the day before - haven't even gotten them yet), but as soon as I saw this thread and the pictures, I bought it. lol
Cool :] Hopefully you like it as much as I do
I just got a Seidio Surface case from Amazon and it's by far the best case I have had for the G2x so far. I have a Trident Aegis case, which to me adds way too much bulk, but this one actually makes it nice to hold.

Yeah that case looks nice. I like the ringke case, I have come to just accept the corner cut out, still urks me but I'm over it. Its probably the best case I have owned, but with that said, it still has flaws. The sides are loose, and I'm really glad the case doesn't collect dust and lint but the camera lens which is exposed collects A LOT. as well as the corners of the screen

It is the same "soft touch" as the battery door, but over the entire case, and is lined with felt.

Ignore my ignorance but, why are the corners cut out on all the cases?
because theyre made for the O2X and the antenna for that phone is where the cutout is
Here are a few pics of the case I just got (At the mall) I'm not sure what brand but it fits nice and makes my phone feel better, at least to me. This was an O2x case (Corner cut out) but I don't think it looks bad.

Thinnest "Tough" Case?

Hi everybody, this is my first post on these forums, although I have been reading them for over a year! Anyways, I was looking at buying a case for my Sensation that would keep it safe, but at the same time not adding to much bulk. I have narrowed it down to 4 cases, that I'm sure will all offer the level of protection I need, I am just wondering which one is the least bulky and slimmest.

I was looking at the Seidio with the kickstand, but I don't like all the exposed rubber as that would make it more lint-prone, and more difficult to get out of the pocket(one of my top pritorities).
Thanks in advance!!!

If it helps your decision I had one otterbox which I had to have replaced thru otterbox due to silicone stretches and the phone will actually slide up and down in the case. had the replacement for about a month and just took off the second one today due to complaints of me sounding muffled and any back to the old dependable tpu case even though it is a ***** to get out my pocket and attracts lint it is my fave

Yeah it was super easy due to the hard plastic that covered the silicone layer that is one thin I miss about it and am still on the fence about putting it back on. I will say my phone survived a few high drops ( I am a cable tech and it fell from a ladder about 18 feet to concrete with out a scratch)

Wow, you just made my decision harder.... !!! Haha thanks though, i'm sure i can't go wrong with either of these cases, but I just want to know which is the best.
OK, I'm pretty sure that the Tough Case and Vertex are out:
Tough Case: I saw that the rubber wraps around the screen on the phone, and can attach lint, also, it does seem a bit bulky.
Vertex: Lack of information is difficult. From the pics I don't think it'll work out for me.
Personally I use zagg skins now. They are seriously epic. I have always hated all phone cases because of the bulk they add no matter how thin. But the zagg skins are tough...real tough. And add essentially no weight/thickness to the device. When I got mine i was trying to scratch the back and screen to no avail. zagg also offers a lifetime warranty, but I have no idea what their limits are on it. Plus you can customize it with any picture you want.
Just my opinion. Good luck with your choice.
I have both Case Mate POP and Otterbox Commuter... otterbox has far better plastic because it cant get scratched at all. The case mate pop looks like it's 10 years old after a week. Still I user POP rather than the otterbox because the rubber on otterbox is like a MAGNET for all the dirt that is around you. I used to clean the rubber, and put it in my pocket, and when I get it out it's entirely covered with dust... I don't even know what were they thinking when they were making it. Another thing about the otterbox is that the earphone jack cover never fits like it is supposed to.
I ordered this a week ago because it looks funny
http://www.case-mate.com/HTC-Sensat...-Sensation-Sensation-SE-Tut-Silicone-Case.asp
I will order the case mate tough also... I hope that will be what I want at last
Wow, thanks for the info! So which one of those has a thinner/less bulky form factor, and is easier to get in/out of your pocket?
Case
I bought a Yoobao case off of Ebay, I love it. It is very tough and thin holds the phone tight.
Ehh, thanks for the info, but I already have a TPU and while it is nice and slim, I want something with a little more protection.
I'll put my two cents in, I just got the vertex and I'm very impressed. I've had the commuter and didn't like it. The plastic seemed cheap to me and was too slick. I also had a tpu case that was ok but I didn't think it would protect very well and made the power difficult to press. The vertex is quality, looks and feels very nice and fits great.

Hi, thanks for the input! Does the back material make it easy to get in & out of pockets easily? And also, is it thinner than your otterbox?

Haven't tried the Case Mates yet, nor the Seidio, BUT:
Naztech is a POS - crappy build, plain & simple.
Otterbox's silicone is too damn loose - quoting others here.
Just saying......
Well, I've been on these forums reading for about 5 months now, but this is my first post...
I've had the Casemate Tough Case for the same amount of time I've had my Sensation; about 5 months.
The tough case's hard backing makes it very easy to slip in and out of your pocket. The only exposed rubber is a small section at the top and bottom of the phone and a very thin rim around the screen, the rest is the hard plastic. I never notice that it's collecting lint\dirt, except when I remove the case, there is a small rim of dust collected under the rubber rim, but you can't see it until the case is off.
The exposed rubber parts always look clean and smooth, same goes for the hard plastic outer shell.
The farthest I've dropped my phone with the case on is off the bar... so maybe 4 feet or so? No damage to the phone or the case.
I haven't tried out any other smartphone cases, so I don't have a large frame of reference, but I haven't had a single issue with the tough case. Hope this helps!

Have you actually tried the naztech case? I'm sitting here right now literally starting at it trying to find a problem with something and I can't. I can't compare it with the tough case but its better than the otter.
Like I said before, and I don't know if this even matters, the naztech has cut outs for all the holes on the back cover, none of the other two piece cases have that feature.
As far as the plastic, the naztech has a rubberized back which makes it easier to hold than the otter but still slides into a my pocket easy.
i think you guys should check momax case....
For what it's worth...
I picked up one of these on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0055DHCKS/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details
Inexpensive, fits very well, easy to slip on and off, isn't a lint magnet, reminds me of the great Boxwave slip cover I had on my Nexus One.
Highly recommended.

improve grip without adding bulk?

I really like how the premium materials on the s6 feel but it's likeholding a piece of ice dipped in lube.. crazy slippery. this also makes for very awkward hand positioning if you dare use one hand (which i attempt to do).. this phone is already kinda too-big for me ... also, it's incredibly insecure inside a pocket. if you lie down, it will fall out. if you're wearing something loose like sweat pants and sit down, it will fall out..
i'm looking for a solution to improve grip but i HATE cases .. especially on a phone this big. something like a skin/wrap seemsperfect but I'd like to know how much grip these add. Ideally, I feel like 2 thin strips of a grippy vinyl along the edges would be enough but more realistically, a full back wrap would likely be the way to go.
dbrand and slickwraps seem to be the most popular ones. i like the look of the leather wraps but it seems like they feel more like paper in person (based on youtube reviews). I wish someone made a clear full-back cover made out of a gripper plastic (like old school palm pilot screen protectors).. that would likely work.
anyone have experience/recommendations?
The InvisibleShield HDX by Zagg works really nicely for the S6.
I've got to say, though. Nothing could be more slippery than the HTC One M8. Awesome phone, but very slick.
The official Samsung shell case adds some grip while still retaining the look of the phone. It's lightly textured hard plastic.
I remember seeing a post a long time ago where someone sprayed Plasti-dip on the back of their phone. I'm sure that would definitely add grip, and it is reversible. Not sure it's something I'd want to do, but it is an option.
Just did a quick search :
http://lifehacker.com/5716776/diy-rubberized-phone-backing
P.s.- you can get Plasti-dip in multiple colors, including clear.
I am really loving The neo hybrid by spigen.
Probably a bit thicker than a skin, but still minimalist, try the Spigen thin fit BLACK color. The other colors (maybe there aren't other colors for the S6?) are slippery. The black one has a very nice grip, but still easy to take out of pockets. Also, it protects the camera lens .
I have the Samsung shell case, seriously its like having no case on the phone but does add grip
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=121605073646&alt=web
Comes in other colours.
a suggestion
You might want to look at the Tech21 Evo Check at Best Buy. It adds very little bulk to the phone, but a whole lot of grip. I'm waiting for an Urban Armor Gear Outland to be delivered , and although the Tech21 case is not cheap, it gives me peace of mind until the UAG arrives.
I got a spigen clear flexible skin on ebay for around 12 dollars. Very nice slim and adds a lot of grip and still lets the phone shine thru
I got dbrand leather carbon finer skin for the back. It's less slippery to hold and no bulk added.
there is really not a solution for you.
Just get a SUPER thin case
I always found adding a cheap clear skin protector on the back add just the amount of grip you need. Worked for the Sony Z3 as well as htc one M7/M8 from my personal experience.
You could wrap your phone once around with Saran Wrap. Might look a little funky, but it will give you some more grip.
if you don't want a case but want grip and never drop your phone then checkout the flygrip it uses double sided adhesive to attach to your phone and also works as a kickstand in potrait and landscape mode , been using it for years on all my devices , but if you wireless charge then it will get in the way and wont work
I bought a pure gear case. Very slim with rubber siding and clear!! I've used them on several phones. Great feel and low bulk. I also added a screen protector

I know these are expensive but they seem to be a great quality and are truly the thinnest case I have ever seen. You should be able to try them out at your local Best Buy to see if you like it.

hello dont agree, i think its a very well made case, if the case drop, it will hurt one of the corner and will preserve the metal part, try to put the phone on a table in all position you want, the lens and metal part will never in contact with anything (sorry for my english
