Hey everybody, got some wallpapers, ringtones, and a boot animation from the Motorola Atrix 4G. Enjoy!
I think the boot animation should work on most devices. I tested it out on my Samsung Captivate. I promise it's more impressive on the phone than in my video below. My camera doesn't capture dark colors well.

I am not responsible for the boot animation working on your device. Don't be angry if something bad happens!
If someone could do away with the at&t crap in it, I'd totally rock the boot animation

AT&T is a pre-boot animation. The boot animation has no AT&T stuff in it. In the video, after the Galaxy S screen, you'll see the boot animation.
Flash it and see!
I was going to check out the ringtones but all the DL's are gone because of TOS Violation.

I've modified the desc.txt file from the bootanimation.zip file so that it loads the red logo only.
If you place it in the system/media folder, it should work properly.

Has anyone got this too work on the Droid X, specifically Apex 1.4.1? I drag it into data/local but nothing happens. The boot animation turns blank. Any ideas?

I made this boot animation to finish off my my theme. I thought this would be cooler then having my hero show the droid boot animation. Maybe I'll move off the andro tux stuff and bother you guys with other stuff.
Sorry I don't have the animated gif for you guys when I output the layers to indexed mode it flattens your image and then I saved (I was hella tired)... So I do have the layers but not the ones I put together to make the animation.
The animation goes like this.. the logo flashes and then tux blinks at your while the progress bar spins until your booted.
Just flash this file from recovery.

Tried this froze my phone on the HTC screen dosent work on Cm6 8/22
Edit works on 8/22 I used the faster animated one thanks

Really... I'm sorry I tested this and it worked fine when flashing for me. This only contains a boot animation.zip. let me look at it again... can some one else confirm this?

Phone is a hero and the rom is aosp rc1 or nightly... should work on either... sorry if assumed rc1/ nightly cm6. In fact this should work on a sense rom also can't guarantee tho maybe some can verify.
Are you still have issues? This only replaces your boot animation zip in the system/ media folder. Check to see that that is being replaced.
Thank you cp002. Glad you liked it. Looking for some more ideas.

Great to hear I like my Android to not be so serious... doesn't seem to be a hit yet. Odd that the media folder does that sometimes.
Thanks so much for all of your boot animations!!!
woot woot... your welcome.
So much information posted about animations but so much confusion as well.
I've read post after post of animation information but nothing that seems concise. My phone is an HTC Incredible so I do not need any information about any other phone because as has been found several times over; different phones have files in different places. No matter what tutorial/advice I follow, I am simply unable to get the sound to work for the boot animation. The splash works and the animation portion of the boot animation works but the sound is out-to-lunch.
That being said, I have the splash and animation files; bootanimation.zip and android_audio.mp3, both located in the /data/local directory. I have also tried to put them into the /system/media and /system/media/audio, respectively but that didn't seem to work. I have even gone so far as to change the folder part0 to android and modify the desc.txt accordingly; and yes, I saved the desc.txt [480 720 22p 1 0 android] in UNIX format in Notepad++ (Edit >>> EOL Conversion >>> UNIX Format, File >>> Save). I repacked the android folder and desc.txt file into a bootanimation.zip using 7zp; Archiver format [zip] and Compression level [Store]. I have even attempted the process as described at jonamerica.com/technology/updated-root-the-htc-droid-incredible; Updated: Root the HTC Droid Incredible and no-go, no sound.
Anyone have any suggestions? And, please, I am interested in HTC Incredible information only; preferably specific to my setup, if available. I've had enough confusion to last me a lifetime already.
Thanks!

I too am frustrated with this! hopefully someone can shed some light, I want my "DROOOID" boot sound!

I'm sure you're right and it is fine for a ROM maker to not include anything, but it "should" be simple to add one.. which leads to the next comment below..

they should.. maybe it isn't a stock feature in stock android, maybe Motorola and HTC had to code it in to make it work... I personally was excited to get the droid eye boot animation and sound when we got Froyo and I would still like both.. it's part of "making it your own" and isn't that what custom roms are about? I suppose in the big picture it isn't that big a deal.. the goal is to NOT see your phone booting but I can't help but enjoy the extra customization a boot animation with sound brings. I'll do some more Googling.. maybe you're right and CM just doesn't support audio at boot..
Thanks
I didn't read any of the reply's but I do know when I put "android_audio.mp3" in the same folder as my boot animation with Skyraider, it played a sound.

I guess try putting the audio file into system/customize/resource thats where the bootani is located on sense based roms...our phones are meant to have sense so cant hurt

Right, I should have added that it all works as expected on Sense based roms.. just not on AOSP ones.
I'm using Nils Z Sense rom, and couldn't get it to work until I edited the build prop to enable usb notification sound line from 0 to 1, it has worked ever since. Hope this helps you!

I'll try that later, thanks!
I also found this thread, not sure if it'll work as I'll also have to try that later (at work ) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=787210
I found THIS and wanted to pass it on. I'm not sure if it works on all AOSP ROMs but I plan on trying later if I have time. I know 100% it works on CM7 and when I have time I'm going to try it on OMGB which I just switched too (awesome, light, fast vanilla ROM FYI!) I'll post results asap!

awesome! glad it worked, I never had time to try it last night so I'm glad to hear it works with other AOSP roms, might be safe to say it'll work with all. just remember to Nandroid people!

pull the android_audio.mp3 file off the phone and put it through a audio editing app and decrease the volume. then push it back to the phone. that's how I would do it.
Could anyone point me to a guide for the g2x on how to change this? I've been searching and I can't find anything that works on g2x. Running cm7 rc1 and Trinity kernel. Thanks!

Find a bootanimation.zip you like save it. Open root explore or the likes mount system as writable. Go to system then media erase bootanimation.zip and paste the one you want there. Pretty simple in the vibrant section under theming there is a how to on making boot animations.

I think he's asking for the splash screen (LG logo). The boot animation is different from the splash screen. It's the graphic image before the boot animation.

Yeah that's what I'm looking for... I can change the boot animation, no problem. Its just the splash screen that comes up before the animation that I'm looking to change

Unless I'm mistaken, that would be a function of the BIOS, so if anything could change out the kernel would.
But I have no experience with this particular thing, it's just my gut instinct.

DROID RAZR Boot Animation
Just like it sounds...this is the RAZR boot animation resized and optimized for the Incredible. Gotta show some love, the INC was good to me...
Sadly, this file is huge compared to most of the boot animations out there (19.18 MB), but I tested it on my old INC and it looks phenomenal.
Thanks to droidth3ory for the RAZR media dump
AS ALWAYS...
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE AS A RESULT OF USING THIS CONTENT, JUST AS IT IS NO ONE ELSES FAULT FOR ANY DAMAGE I MIGHT DO TO MINE. IF YOU DO NOT KNOW THE RISKS INVOLVED, YA MIGHT JUST BE BETTER OFF STICKING WITH STOCK. It's not that complicated, just do a little research. Plenty of knowledge floating around XDA...
Simple enough:
1:: download the .zip
2:: rename it (using ES File Explorer or Astro or any ROOT EXPLORER that will allow you to MOUNT SYSTEM AS WRITABLE) by simply cutting out the "RAZR_INC_" so that it is just bootanimation.zip. On some ROMs you may need to rename the animation to "VZW_bootanimation.zip" and the audio file to "VZW_Droid.mp3"
3:: copy or cut the bootanimation.zip and paste it in the system/customize/resource folder, or wherever the boot animation file is stored on your particular ROM. For CM7 and AOSP ROMs I think they may be in a different location. RESEARCH IT
4:: if you are warned that the merge will overwrite the existing file and that the world will end... it won't...accept the merge.

**Audio is attached as well (audio.zip). The timing is not perfect, but it's about as close as I could get it. I have compared it to how it runs on my BIONIC and it's pretty damn close lol.**

FYI - I just pushed this to my Dinc running the PrimeXL-HD Rom by Joelz, the animation is in /data/local and named htc_bootanimation.zip. In case that helps someone else with that Rom or possibly another one running a Sense Rom.
I haven't done anything with the audio file, I don't really care for boot audio so I'm not sure if it will need to be htc_audio.zip or something like that, or if the default name will work.
is that sense 2.3.5? wonder if they changed it when they came out with that...thanks for bringing that up, I will update the OP

For those of you on CM6/7, instructions for enabling sound can be found here:
http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/cyanogenmod/32058-how-add-bootsound-cyanogenmod.html
Not the link I used when I did it, but it is essentially the same thing.
Then just drop the file in /data/local/android_audio.mp3
hopefully somebody can compress and reduce it. I'm sure the images would look identical since most animations are much smaller. this one is nearly 4x bigger than most I use. I don't even use an app that large lol

Does anyone know where to download some good boot animations for our phones? To my knowledge boot animations must be custom tailored to individual phone, like you can't just use one meant for a S3, but dont really know for sure. Would love a nexus 4 boot animation!
Also by any chance is there a 4,2 photosphereapk working for our phones? I installed one a couple of months ago but it was very glitch :\
Thanks!

Look for boot animations that are 480x800(which is the resolution for our device). As of now, I got permission to port RemICS-JB.. There is photosphere in there but you have to change build.prop to Galaxy Nexus(informed about this). Will post the apk in an edit..

Edit: Thanks im_awesome! And will definitely try out this RemICS-JB
