The mission? To modify the Skype application for android below.. to make calls over 3G on carrier Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T, Etc.... Or make an application the tricks the phone into thinking 3G is WIFI as suggested by "mrdodge"
skype version to modify: 1.0.0.831 and future releases!
total bounty reward ATM: $30
users who promise they will donate:
mengder ($10)
ST4LKER ($10)
bohoshka ($10)
users who might donate in future:
M5devil

anyone? lol...

What exactly do you want it hacked or modded to do?
Sent From My GalaxyS Iphone Killer

the author doesn't know what the thread is about :S

I think he wants it hacked to make calls on 3g.
Just guessing.

sweet! thanks for the support I really do hope others can notice this thread, maybe they just don't want to donate haha? if you read this and don't wish to or don't have cash to donate.. its ok! just support the thread to get it a bit noticed! skype is a must for me!

why would even want to do that? this realease fixed some minor issues in skype nothing major was added. Now when they will come out with video for skype that version would be worth taking a crack at

Im pretty sure skype app for verizon does that, at least I can make call on my version of skype when on 3G.

Solution
It's easy, no need for hacking. Just use Orbot and pass through skype traffic so it will work well ;-) On anything 3g, edge, wifi with http proxy....
Here you're the link for Orbot:
http : / / www . torproject . org / docs / android . html . en
Sorry for spaces in the link, but i'm new here so i'm not allowed to post links :-(

Would like to know the same! Have tried skype with VPN and no go...wonder how it works with Tor...

I've tried messing around with tor but no luck, I'm starting to doubt it works for Skype! unless he can explain how it works into tricking the phone/skype into thinking it is using a wifi connection, no luck

am I and M5devil the only users really willing to donate to the cost of getting newer Skype releases modified to work over 3G? lol... I'm rising my total donation to 10$.

Just tried it, worked until I tried to make a call to the echo service. "Call Failed" on 3G, successful on WiFi.
Could be MIUI though. Seems to be a sketchy ROM as of late with certain apps.

Please Develop an AIM program for HTC P4351

Hi. I had been looking for almost a year now. Please help me. I have HTC P4351 (its unlocked)(but I use it on T-Mobile network) a.k.a. T-Mobile Wing. I want to get an Instant Messaging application for AIM service. T-Mobile Wing has this OZ Messaging program on it, it doesn't require any INTERNET connection. It signs on and sends/receives instant messages using your SMS connection. I want just that. For an app to actually log on to AIM server, and whenever I send/receive an IM, for it to count as 1 SMS. Can somebody develop or is there something like this ready already??
Instant Messages over SMS gateway
Thank You Folks!!
***Solution***
1 - Copy and run of your MAIN memory (do not paste this file on your storage card) Network Wizard CAB: http://thewingster.com/Documents/ArcsoftMMS-2.CAB (Install on Device Memory, run it after installing, pick your carrier, and follow instructions)
2 - Find a *.cab file of OZ Communicator on this forum and install.
This should do it. Did it for me!!

Someone PLEASE upload Blackboard APK

*Crap- I posted this in the wrong section... Can an admin please move this to general
I am a Verizon user, and from what I hear, only sprint users are privy to the new Blackboard Mobile app on the market... I didn't even know that Google differentiated between providers as to what they are allowed to download until today... Anyhow, if someone could upload the Blackboard Mobile apk, I would greatly appreciate it. I know other Verizon users are also looking for this and I'll gladly share it with them also.
If you don't know what Blackboard Mobile is, it's an online classroom environment used by universities so students can see assignments, download notes, and upload homework - The app is free to download, but is, for whatever the reason, restricted to Sprint users only.
Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the upload! But the program itself is still restricted to sprint phones... The apk installs, and the app opens, but when I chose my school, it says that I am not on a Sprint Device and refuses to load anything... How restarted.
Thanks for your help though! Maybe some genius programmer on the Verizon side knows how to fool an app into believing I'm on a sprint network..

wow, nice find! My school hasn't enabled it either though. What can you do with it?
Just a thought. Try loading a Sprint PRL. That may do the trick.
Awesome thanks! My school uses blackboard and I never thought to look for an app for it.
This is great. Downloading now
Edit: It crashes all the time on me. Not stable for my Evo
Why would anyone want this? It has a 2-star rating on the Market. It looks like total trash.

If you go to school, or your organization uses blackboard its actually quite handy my friend.. only reason the review is so low is because its sprint exclusive. So people try to use it, can't, and rate it bad. What do you want in a blackboard app, naked women and free drinks?
It wasnt working on the evo, emailed dev and they fixed it within a day. it works now and it works great, id give it 4 or 5 stars definitely worth it.
Alot of school's havent activated this, I asked my school about it, and they said they haven't added it because they haven't got the site where they want it, feature wise, before they add it. Even though I doubt what they do will have any effect on this.
And yeah, the bad ratings are because of all the people ranting about it only being for sprint.

Skype Alternative for BB & Android?

I'm not exactly sure if this is the right place, but I'm going to give it a shot.
A friend of mine is from the UK, and has a BlackBerry. Now her Blackberry isn't available for Skype. I am trying to find a good VoIP/Skype alternative that is on both BlackBerry and Android.
I've tried TruPhone (Tru App), and it's complicating as hell and just isn't working.
Google Voice is available for both devices, but that's not what Google Voice is for.
Can't use Nimbuzz, because the last time she tried NimBuzz she had to bring her phone to the shop and get it repaired.
So if anyone can help figure this out, it would be much appreciated.

HTC Listen?
The app that comes with the sensation called Listen.
Not all sensations have it. It only comes stock on the Sensation 4G (e.g. Tmobile usa and the like). It is not on the asian or european stock sensations because of some international music licensing issues (though the apk will work on an international device, go figure). I have it but won't post the apk as it is considered warez. Sorry, I know that doesn't help you much.
It's actually not warez since its included and cannot be purchased. Maybe you know a link I can download it from and would be willing to p.m. me that link?
Thanks.
Actually it is warez as it is not available for your device due to licensing issues. Agree or don't, either way like I said sorry.

It comes in almost every ROM available for download from this site... so then that would mean all our devs are distributing warez...And that when people from Europe posted the Skype apk that allowed 3g video calling back before it was allowed in the US...
OP if I didn't auto delete that stuff before I flash a ROM I would hook you up, also idk if you need anything other then just the APK.

If they are packaging it in anything other than a tmo based rom then yes, that's exactly what it means, though I can't confirm nor deny that they are as not one of them advertises the app in their rom . Just becsuse something goes unnoticed or ignored doesn't mean its not against the rules or right, but this is just my two cents.

Yeah you need to update it through sense, which unauthorized devices can't do. If you had a US sensation you would be automatically alerted to the update or you could check for updates manually.

I made a NANDroid of my stock set up before I flashed anything, when my ROM is finished downloading I will restore my stock set up, pull the apk and throw it on dropbox for you. Looking for Basis Band .apk (free app)

G'day all,
I've got a Basis Band (www.mybasis.com), and they've just released an Android App for it. Except that it's more like an Samsung App, as they've locked it to three Samsung phones and two Samsung tablets. And locked it to the US store. (This is in line with their communications since they started the company, to be fair - the truth and Basis intersect only by accident, it seems.)
I was hoping someone who meets the criteria - Samsung Galaxy SIV, Samsung Galaxy SIII, Samsung Galaxy SII, Samsung Note II or Samsung Note and access to the US Play Store - could grab it (as I said, it's free) and flick the .apk on.
I'd be grateful, perhaps not eternally, but at least for a few days
Hello,
More info:
apk:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mybasis.android.basis
If someone from USA please could extract it in apk format?? It's free.
In above post there are instructions in order to download it using market helper, but doesn't work for me.
http://www.sharehacks.com/get-basis-band-app-working-on-nexus-4-and-nexus-7/
mareket helper:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2146216
Thanks
to be honest I'm not sure how I downloaded it, but I was probably on a proxy at the time and just clicked through using my browser
heads up- they block non-US IPs and also proxies on the basis website, that's why you get the 500 error
So um, get a friend to sign you up as well; if they have a US IP.
There is a way to get around it on your phone, however I've not been able to access the website ever.
What I've been doing is;
connect to a proxy wifi hotspot, data disabled by juicedefender (might be superfluous?)
use Market Enabler to fake the provider
- if you've failed to connect before, wipe the app data from system -> apps -> basis -> clear data, cache; try again
So ... if you've downloaded it, could you put it up somewhere so we can grab it? Thanks.

Thanks Ronald! I got the e-mail and I have a Motorola Droid Razr (original not Maxx) and it installed, allowed me to pair to my phone, and login with my userid and password successfully. Then it attempted to sync and failed on the transfer the first go-around, so I manually told it to sync (press the big button the right side of the B1 and then confirm to sync since it was already paired) and that worked fine. So, it looks like it's good to go between my B1 and Razr.
