Inspire or Desire Z NAM - HTC Inspire 4G

I currently have both phones and trying to decide which one to sell. I am leaning more towards selling the Desire Z, but not really sure. The main reason I would have for keeping the Desire Z would be because of being able to use to $10 unlimited plan. I don't really use to keyboard, but it's nice to have. However it's looking like ATT has made the effort in having highend Android phones since the iPhone is on Verizon too. Meaning I eventually would have to pay more for a data plan because of other ATT Android phones that will be available throughout the yr. I usually keep phones on average for 4 months or until a better one comes out. Here are the advantages I have when comparing both phones. I always root every Android phone I have owned so SW and performance is similar between the two.
Desire Z A7275:
- Keyboard
- Trackpad
- Can use $10 unlimited Data Plan
- Ease of Access for Battery
- Less People will have in the US
- Better Build
- Camera Button
HTC Inspire A9192:
- Larger Screen
- Feels Slightly Lighter, less bulky
- Lower Price if buying outright($430 w/tax in DFW area)
- Slightly better Battery
- 4G Capable....soon
- Can send for warranty in US
- Better location of USB port

i was tempted to sell my inspire once i got it...not because i was displeased at all, but because they were going for upwards of 500 on ebay and i got mine for 99 with an upgrade.
check completed listings in ebay and see which phone is bringing more money, maybe that will help sway you one way or the other?

I had the Desire Z and was ok with it but did not like the hinge system a little flimsy and was not that tight. The screen was good and I liked the build but nothing can beat the size of the Inspire screen. I sold my Desire Z and my Desire both on E-bay to get this phone.
I thought long and hard about it but in the end it came down to how well the screen size is easy to read with old eye's. The unlimited data was nice and in the end I lost it but I really do not miss it that much and it was not that much of a factor in getting this phone. The track pad on the Z was a joke to me, my Desire trackpad was better than the Z.
Battery access on the Impression is not bad at all I have had no problems with it at all. In the end it comes down to what you want to spend you money on, for me it was the Inspire AKA Desire HD.

What they are selling for on e-bay is no indication, it took me three times to sell my Desire Z and in the end I only got $450.00 for it which sucks considering I spent $650.00 to get it from Canada only three weeks before I sold it.
To the OP you would probably get more out of selling your iphone than selling the Z!!!

this is a no brainer for me! i cant go back to screen less than 4.3!!
i can exchange my inspire for atrix with dual core. but i think bigger screen is more important to me than dual core.

After seeing what they are selling that Motorola for all I can say is forget it there is NO motorola worth that much and that processor is going to eat batteries like candy!!!!

Desire Z all the way!
I have both phones (among others) and I honestly believe the desire Z is the best phone I’ve ever had.
I love the inspire and its large screen but the build quality of the desire Z seems higher, its battery life is better and the track pad and keyboard seal the deal. The hinge while odd at first works brilliantly and after using the onscreen keyboard again I’m double sold on the hardware keyboard. Granted until I spent 2 week with WP7 on an HD2 I thought the htc touch keyboard was the best but now it’s the low point of the phone.
Of course I use my phone for business and travel so I make a lot of use of the keyboard. Of course it is fun to bring out the inspire in front of my iphone toting friends and have them ask about the screen and widgets

I don't think you can get even 3G with Desire Z. Desire Z works on HSPA/WCDMA: 900/2100 MHz but ATT runs 850/1900 MHz (soon 850 only)
Edge is way too slow for me...
Mine bad, Canada version of Desire Z do works on HSPA/WCDMA (850/1900 MHz). I was looking at the Euro version b4. Sorry.

Everyone who is using the Desire Z with ATT 3G is using the Unlocked Bell version(A7275). This came out back in October of last yr. The tmo and Euro version(A7272) doesn't work on ATT 3G

Selling HTC Sensation & Stuff!!!!

Hey all!!
I am going to be selling my HTC Sensation 4G (on T-mobile, USA) once the Galaxy Nexus comes to T-mobile soon! The phone is new, I bought it last month because I didn't want to wait for the Nexus, but now that I see it, I'm going to be selling it for the off contract price on ebay, probably a little cheaper. But with my HTC Sensation I'll be selling my OtterBox I have for it, the T-mobile snap on case, my Zagg Invisasheild (that is on the screen), a generic T-mobile Sensation screen protctor, an Anker Desk Dock, a Anker 1900mAH battery, as well as the HTC stock battery, a 4 GB Micro SD Card, but I will not be including my SIM card because I'll need that for my Nexus, so you must already have a T-mobile SIM Card compatable for their HSPA+ Network. And just because I don't need it anymore I'll be putting in my OG HTC myTouch (red), and it works fine for an old phone, it has paint chipped off of it, but hardware wise it is 100% fine.
So if you would like to buy I am thinking of asking anyone on the forums before selling it on ebay, so just PM if you want to give me a price you would pay for everything!
Wrong forum. Doubt you get that much, though.

oh, thank you! I wasn't sure which forum to post on. and I changed my price. I wasn't thinking I'd get that much either lol

Orange San Francisco II?

Hello guys, I was looking for a new phone under £150 and I stumbled upon this phone, the Orange San Francisco II aka ZTE Crescent, what are your views?
800 MHz Proccessor.
5MP camera + A front camera.
Android 2.3 Gingerberad.
3.5-inch WVGA TFT capacitive touch screen, and multi-touch.
£99 on PAYG + £10 top up
http://shop.orange.co.uk/mobile-phones/san-francisco-II-from-orange-in-black
Looks like a nice phone, I'm also wondering what Orange are like as a network? Will I get unlimited texts and a fair amount of internet for £10 a month like I can on other networks?
Anyone want to give me their views?
you could do what im doing and buy an unlocked motorola defy from computer exchange for about £145. the defy is overclockable to about 1.3ghz and has great dev support. there is also an ics port in the works.
I don't like buying second-hand, I was going to get a HTC 7 Mozart for £140 from a local exchange but decided against it. Thanks for your input.

Hey man, it is a really good phone for its value. It is at the lower end of the spectrum but still does the same job as all the other phones. Made out of plastic, so do not expect a steel finish and a great feel in hand, BUT, and a big BUT.. it is an awesome phone.
I owned a SF1, and that was great.. so the moment I saw the SF2, I purchased it straight away.
As an alternative, for £20 pounds more..you can buy the Orange Monte Carlo..same specs, but bigger screen! And it has more dev support right now.
Hope it helps!
I decided to take the plunge and I ordered it, I don't want to mess around with development etc, just a stock phone for now! I opened the box and held the phone, felt nice, and the specs are better than my G5, it's great value for money. Can't have the phone till Christmas though, thanks for the reply though!

[Q] Page Plus Activation? / Phone Gift Ideas

Has anyone tried to activate any of the phones listed below on Page Plus, and if so did talk/text/MMS/data all work? I've been looking for a $200-$300 smartphone that can be activated on P+ without any hassles/special programming required and that isn't too massive. This will be a gift for a first-time smart phone user. Hopefully this list will help any of you looking for a similar phone for yourself or as a gift. Prices based on eBay listings, brand new condition, buy-it-now, includes shipping. Thanks.
Do these work on Page Plus?:
Samsung Illusion: $200-$225, nice balance of small size and good features for the price
LG Enlighten: $215-$230, nice small size, thicker because of slide-out keyboard, slightly smaller display and less advanced features
HTC Merge (I have read this can be activated on Verizon even though only listed w/US Cellular and Alltel): $250-$300, larger size and screen, slide-out keyboard, better features that LG but more expensive
Also considering the following; I have found confirmation on forums that these phones work:
Moto DROID 2 Global: $260-$295, this might be a winner if willing to pay a bit more than Samsung/LG (especially if it works globally)
HTC Incredible: $300-$325, everyone knows about this phone, great but expensive and getting old
HTC Trophy: $300-$350, Windows phone (Mango), larger but good features and reviews, expensive
Moto DROID (original) deserves to be on the list at only $140, though I'd rather pay up for DROID 2 Global
Thanks for sharing your experiences with these phones (or any others that you think I'm forgetting).
And I've been using HTC DROID Eris, my wife is using Palm Pre Plus...both work perfectly out of the box. Just ordered a $38 Palm Pixi Plus for my dad
I have Page Plus using the original Moto Droid, it works just fine. I'm getting ready to move the rest of my family over from Verizon to Page plus also, I will be attempting to hook in with a Moto Droid2 and an HTC Incredible2.
Also FYI the Droid and Droid2 can be had for $100 or less (I got both at that price in excellent condition), so they are good choices. I guess you still cannot activate 4g phones on Page Plus so don't get anything fancier than the Droid X or D-Inc2.

HTC 8X 16GB Unbranded and Factory Unlocked for a great deal

Thought I'd pass this along to you guys. Fully factory unlocked and unbranded for only $349. Seems like a great deal. What do you think?

I finally was able to get the int'l unlocked, unbranded 4G htc 8x to work on at&t 3G. Other than the additional radio not sure how this is one different.
1. Miss the Nokia support but loving form factor.
2. Screen has color shifting at wide angles.
3. Battery life is below average
4. The UK deal was same price, but extra because shipping.
Battery life below average? How much is it for you,
I get around 1d and a half and 2d between charges depending on use. Wich is not bad for a 1800mAh battery

Torn between the GS4 and HTC One

contract time this coming Saturday
my old man is buying my Razr I on Saturday so I have renew my contract
the only UK carrier I will use is Three
so its down to the i9505 GS4 or the HTC One
GS4 has the facts that battery is replaceable, Samsung seem to support their ex flagships longer than HTC, the developer community seems to be better on the Samsungs.
HTC One, much better stock out of the box and the looker of the two, but non replaceable battery and a support long term from HTC does not seem to be as good with ex flagships vs sammy.
decisions decisions decisions
It seems like you got the pros and cons about the phones.
Personaly I'd go with the GS4, if you plan to keep using the phone for a long time, Samsung's are dev friendly. If you're a short term owner like me (switching phones every 4-6 months) give the One a spin and look forward what comes out this winter.
vote one
I suggest the Samsung Galaxy S4. It has a better camera and CPU. It is also bigger and lighter than the HTC One.
Sent from my PC36100
AFAIK both are using same hardware (snapdragon 600) only the clock speeds is different gs4 is higher so it get better performance
so if you like htc one with its feature get htc one if you like gs4 with its feature and better performance get a gs 4
I have a S3... and if the S4 is anything like it, I say "meh" to the cheap plastic construction. The aluminum unibody, on the other hand... So. Sexy. So I go for the HTC.
