[Q] Pink Tinge in photos - HTC Inspire 4G

Anyone else noticing a pink circle in the center of their photos and video? I took a picture of my wall.
I found a thread in the Desire HD forum that someone else was experiencing the same. hxxp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11425704#post11425704
Seems like the HD2 and HD7 also had similar issues with their camera. The HD2s issue was resolved with a software update. Not sure about the HD7.

Here's the only shot I have taken with mine so far. I don't see a pinkish circle. But then again, I am not exactly a color fiend.

It's only really noticeable on white backgrounds. But now that I know it's there, I can see it in every picture that I've taken.

What is that a picture of? Looks like an old building.

Yeah, I'm starting to think its not that big of a deal.

It is, it is behind the Ft. Worth PD parking garage that I park in, facing the Trinity River. I've not waled down there yet to see what is going on with it. I think it may be an old jail, based on the construction.

I don't have the pink... but I have to admit the pictures don't come out very well at all. They seem really yellowy. I am taking pictures side-by-side with the wife's iphone 4 indoors at night and the pictures are very yellow. Horrible really. Anyone else seeing issues with this camera? One would think it would be better.

Camera pictures are coming out with too much red in them

Sorry I dont have a picture right now, but I will post one soon. So when I'm outside my picture are turning everyones faces red. And have already reset camera values, but it is still doing it. Also the other night when I took a video, some of the video was coming out in negative colors. I know that people are saying that there is a EMC interference with the camera, just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this, and have any suggestions on how to fix it.
I have seen this with some lighting in my house, but when I'm outside it appears fine

Light bleeding, but not from the capacative buttons?

Hi guys, while I love this phone we all know that it has a few little... quirks. I think I can live with most of them although the overheating this is really getting on my nerves. It really doesn't need to get that hot. Anyway, back on topic. I haven't seen this mentioned here so thought I would ask if anyone else thinks this is normal. Has anyone else noticed light seeping through from both sides, and also the top of the screen. Take a look at my pics and see what i'm talking about. I have the AUO panel, and just wanted to know if I should bother exchanging it. If this isn't normal then I'll take it back today.
Please let me know what you think.
Edit - I added the Ubuntu Wallpaper so that you can see how it is brighter in the middle but, it doesn't glow in that rectangular shape the way it does in the pic the first pic that I posted.
I just made a video showing the halo effect. Notice how the glow is always there (depending on what's on the screen as you don't really notice it when something bright is on the screen)
Notice how the backlight bleeds when there is a light object near the edge of the screen. I don't notice any bleed when the screen is all black. Is this normal?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_KqudgfrSB8
I see it but it also looks part of the wallpaper...
Download dead pixel test from the market > set your brightness all the way up > now in dead pixel get the black wallpaper > check for bleed in a dark room.
I'd have to shoot a video to show you. If you move the wallpaper around in the gallery, you can see the edges light up more. I'll try to shoot a video and post. Be back in a minute.
Sorry to be off topic but whhat case is that, can you send me a link of it

I got it from amazon, but here's the link to it on their official website.

It's the smoke gray TPU case. Since I have your attention, does your screen do this, or is it just mine?
Here's a link to some pics I posted of it a while back. http://goo.gl/u3BPX
I've got an AUO and no bleed on mine. What was the build date on your unit?

I'm exchanging it today.
Good luck, hopefully you can test it out in the store and decline it if there are any issues. Shoots, check to make sure all the little bugs are gone from the new unit before you leave the store!
I've seen 4 in person and none of them had any bleed. You should exchange that unit as it is pretty bad. I have seen plenty of G2X's that looked like that though.

Pink spot camera problem

I have never noticed a problem with any pink spot on my camera (recording or pictures) and I have owned the phone for about 6 months. Yesterday and today I noticed a clearly visible pink spot in the center of the phone. I was filming at the beach and I could clearly see it. It was very bright out but I know ive been in similar conditions and never had a problem or at least it was not as visible.
Not sure what to make of this issue. I did update to the latest update that T-Mobile has pulled for now but I never noticed it after the update but now I can really notice it. I love this camera and I use it regularly for my Youtube channel.
I would appreciate any information or feedback. If you would like to see an example of what I am talking about it is located on this video ( bright lighting conditons) :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MExfsTTMVA
Also the one from the day before located here ( dimmer lighting conditions) :

Are there any suggestions?
Anyone else notice this problem?
what are you talking about? i don't see anything wrong in the videos
If you look close you can see it..... Its there.... First link look 0:40 to 0:45 also other places...
Second video link look 0:30 to 0:35
Its clearly there
...it doesn't look that noticable to me...but if it really bothers you take it to a tmobile store and get a $20 warranty exchange
I live in Ireland and I purchased the phone new from Ebay.
There is obviously a problem with the camera as you can notice. I did the editing on these videos to try and cut out the spot as much as possible but there is clearly a problem.
Has anyone else had an issue?
If you google pink spot camera problem you will notice it is an ongoing issue with many phones but I was unaware of this problem affecting MT4GS.....

Avoid lacking the light, and never use auto white balance mode when capturing image. Hope can fix your problem

Screen sploches and dots

I'm having an interesting issue.
When looking at really dark images I can see sploches and streaks in the screen which don't move if I pan around the image.
To replicate open up an all black photo in gallery, let your eyes adjust for a second. Do you see extra dark regions that look like spatter and streaks?
I'm not sure if I can get a camera to capture it....
Do a screenshot, hold down power and then hit home button

Taking a screen shot didn't capture anything. You can tell it's a hardware issue because when start to slide in the next photo the sploches stay there as the images move. Might go get another handset if this isn't happening to anyone else.
Maybe you can post the dark pic your looking at so we can see if we can see the same effect. I tryed looking at a black pic on my phone and I dident see anything unusual.

I had this same issue with my first One S, the unfortunate thing is once i saw them i knew where they were and couldn't unsee them, took it back to where i bought it and they swapped it. I also had light leak at the top and bottom edges of the glass on that same device, its just a build defect.
My new One S has no splotches or lines
This was a major issue on the Tmobile GS2, I have a pretty keen eye for it now. It shows on darker gray colors more then straight black and the One S I have now has this issue. It's a problem with Amoled displays.
So what's the verdict, do I return it or deal with it?

is there a fix for yellow tint?

hello everyone!
ive been browsing through XDA's nexus5 forums for hours and hours but i feel like my question hasn't really been answered so far. i cant post in the development forum with the faux app thread (i have less than 10posts which are required) so i'm posting in this sub forum.
i got my n5 yesterday and it has yellow tint. the colors look washed out too. question:
has anybody been able to fix his yellow tint with faux app + faux kernel/franco's kernel? so is it only a software issue (bad calibration) or is it a hardware issue which cant be fixed on our side?
everything else seems to be fine so i dont really want to RMA it now and get 3 other faulty RMAs with dead pixels or rattling buttons like some other people on XDA.
thanks in advance!
How yellow are we talking? The Nexus 5s are noticeably more warm than most other phones out there, but they are more accurate when it comes to color reproduction. Unless it's MAJOR, then I wouldn't worry about it. You'll get used to it. Then there's this... which I don't know much about.

My colors also looked a little more yellow after the update to 4.4.2, can anyone else confirm this ?

it's definitely noticeable and quite annoying. the colors also look washed out and the entire display isn't as sharp as it should be (i think this is related to the general color/gamma problem). compared the color to my nexus S and you could directly see the difference. but i would say that ive seen much worse displays on pictures in the defects thread and other threads on here and that's why i'm hoping that it's fixable
yes, that's the app that ive linked in my first post. i'd be very happy if someone who has/had yellow tint and tested this app could post in here :fingers-crossed:

Samsung displays are known to be VERY oversaturated. I came from the S3 and I thought it was a great looking display. When I got my N5 I thought it was okay, nothing great. Now I love it. If I look at the S3/S4 it hurts my eyes it looks so bad!
It seems to be an issue that's affecting a really small subset of devices. The screen on my phone isn't yellow at all - in fact, it's just about perfect. I've read that people have been able to fix it by installing Franco's kernel, which makes sense because my screen gets too blue when I install it. If you make a yellowish display bluer, it should look normal.
