This is a good idea. We need a programmer to look this over and see how much work it would need. And those idiots who leave comments saying "no its impossible, the hardware is not capable" should keep quiet because many people said that about n64 on the android and its been done now.

This is a great idea considering tegra 2 processors and all that are out. But I'd love to see it on the xperia play

nah, not worth it enough considerly the fact that Sony is already developing/releasing some kit for developers and will probably release their own psp emulator or app to play em. WIll probably begin a new line PsA (PlayStation Android) `I guess they will do the same thing they did with their fail Psp GO but for android and ooen their own PsA Market
i saw a java emulator for android 2.1 (called java support) but not 4 all jar file!
program have a list off jar file,and convert theme 2 apk!

This will never happen. Games might be ported by the developers to Android. But you won't be able to emulate ios in Android.

How so? They got the Android OS working on WM devices? Why is it so improbable to run iOS on Android? How about some details?

android is open source, so its possible to add drivers etc and change the kernel etc.
winmo and ios are closed source, so there is no possibility to change the code/add drivers etc.

I guess that means we're gonna be getting iOS soon cause my buddy just bought a Mustang from a Chevy dealer last week. No joke.
iOS has been on Android for a while now. That's how we got Fruit Ninja and Angry Birds. Now Apple doesn't have **** on us.

How do we get emulators for playstation, gba, snes, ps2 etc. Were theses all open source. If we can emulate consoles then why not emulate iphone games.

it seem like it would be possible ... they have emulators for almost everything else... why cant droids dual boot or run iphone os?

It should be possible but there is not enough interest. If we compare with WINE and VMWARE there is an interest because many business applications require Windows, it is not really the same here. If you find like 10-30 skilled programmers with great knowledge of ARM architecture it might be possible, remember that some people managed to emulate PPC on a X86 like 5 years ago so crazier things has happened in the past.

well someone should do it asap.. there is some iphone apps i want that android does not have.
Heh, i think it's easier to make the apps then a freakin' emulator. You can start with contacting the devs of the apps you would like to have, and see if they're planing to release them on Android.

The site is the official app site and they say:

Additionally, it is incompatible with most HTC devices and some newer Samsung devices. This is due to the required bluetooth protocol not being implemented on these devices. At the time only emuator games can be played.

This was a long time coming, great news.
The Wiimote has been compatable for over a year, and I've used it prior to DualTouch for some SNES gaming, but the DualShock gamepad has a much nicer feel.

you know what would be awesome? if the x10 had TV output, combined with this sixaxis app it would transform it into a little console.
I've tryed the compatibility app and it worked, i'll save this for a future reference, my next purchase will probably be a phone with HDMI out.

it only works with the current emulators eg psx4droid etc... not working for gameloftgames and the likes. i tried coz im having tons of frustration with backstab they have freaking levels that require you to jump but u just can't -.- with x10s crappy dual touch... feel kinda let down that it only works with emu tho...

it works on snes and psx4droid and other emuators but not on asphalt 6 or modern combact 2.

I began to be interested in this recently and I found this thread so im bumping it, also considering the time it might be worth mentioning that we are talking about old PSP, not vita. I know that developing for that PSP is pretty much non-existent but maybe it wont even be needed, there are lots of programs for PSP that turn it into wireless gamepad, someone skilled enough just needs to teach android how to work with it

i have a psp that i haven touch for overa year and i woud love to use it as a controller for one of my android tablets.
That would be pretty neat if you could! It should be possible with proper bluetooth configuration.. sense ive seen bluetooth controllers work on the android aswell as the android be used as a wireless keyboard for a pc.

Could be possible, someone a while ago already did something like this, but for the PC and PS3. It allowed the PSP to act as a SixAxis controller on the PS3, and a gamepad on PC.

would be phenomenal if someone could do that. I think there are quite a lot of us who have old PSP's just lying around somewhere collecting dust. Can't even remember when I last touched my PSP 2001. But if someone will be able to make these as controllers for android, even if just via OTG, then I'm pretty sure he/she will make a lot of games (and neglected PSP's) happy, myself included.
IMO, it's more feasible that it can be done via OTG. Just thinking of all the obstacles one has to face in making this idea work via wifi or ad-hoc makes my migraine act up.
Bump it up, we need this please!! Someone point us in the right direction if you know something, or if you are developing something. I have no idea how this could help with development, but there is already a working (yes, working) Psp emulator for Android and PC, so that could possibly help........hopefully.....maybe...... I wonder how hard it would be, since the psp can be used as a gamepad on a pc.
Presume it'd just need similar host software running on the phone, and then have the psp connect to the phone, just like it connects to the pc.

It works in usb mode with Fusa Gamepad and USB joystick center. The once thing you need to make it works is the "joydev.ko" module.
