Stock contacts and phone.apk (t-Mobile) - Galaxy Tab Themes and Apps

I don't see the point of making phone calls with a tablet. And now I have a notification telling me I have a voice mail. So I would love to have the stock apks that I need so I can remove the voice call bits from my Tab. Can someone post them please. It'd be appreciated.

Is your signature correct? The phantom voice mail was fixed in Overcome 1.1.3
Can't help you w/the phone apk, but here are the original t-mobile contacts files (apk + odex)

If the phantom vm is still there you may call tmo and have them delete your vm box. Sometimes even on data only Sims they get setup for some reason, deleted mine before the roms fixed it and notification went away for me, didn't care since I use Google voice anyway and in your case no one is calling since you don't use the phone.

Bahaha no. It's not, I've been flashing ROMs quite often trying to find one just perfect and I never changed it.
I'm running stock, so no worries now

9016 voicemail fix thread for Cyanogen Nightly Update users

Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Just thought this would be a good idea for all of us having voicemail problems.
Post solutions and comments on developing a fix here instead of clogging up the cyanogen thread.
PS the spiicytuna method posted on page one of cyanogen does nothing to fix the 9016 issue.

Call the number included in the text you get. It will ask you if you have a sms voivemail phone or smth. Press one for no, and you stop getting the texts.

Tried that. You get a new text telling you to call a certain number to retrieve your voice mail.
Blacklist the number?
One way around it
Well. It seems you can go to Sprint and block the text message at the source. Just log into your account and add them to your block list.
Will have a voice mail sent to me and see if it works. I've read in other forums that it can take a month to work.

Update: Blocking 9016 did NOT work. My VVM updates, but I still get the annoying texts.
Any suggestions?
im not sure what that 9016 issue is but i do have a voicemail notification issue so i will speak of that
the sms you receve can be avoided while messing with ur settings in google voice online... when u click edit on ur mobile number there are options to uncheck sms notifications as well as transcriptions.. mess with ur settings and that fixes that issue, now onto the annoying one...
the way that i have figured out how to temporarly remove the icon is to flash whatever the latest nightly build is using rom manager and the use the option to wipe and adding the google apps, i then wait for my phone to reboot and let rom manager do its thang then as soon as i put in all my gmail information i wait till the menu starts to pop up then quickly press menu, call settings, voicemail number then change that *86 to my 10 digit phone number then press okay then i quickly change my carrier to google voice then go through all of those settings quickly till i click finish then press okay even though i may get that error that says something like my carrier doesnt support google voice or whatever it is then i go back to the carrier option and even though google voice is already selected i click google voice again and it tells me that my number has changed... no more voicemail notification UNTIL i reboot my phone, so any new fix that maybe come out involving any other issue i choose to ignore if it means that i have to reboot my phone... also a good thing to know is once u have success of finally getting rid of the icon whenever a new build is released just install it using rom manager once again but this time DO NOT select the wipe option and rom manager will install the latest build without the voicemail icon and all ur settings will be good to go right after the install however the same rules still apply, one u reboot it will come back, so after installing the latest build just dont wipe and dont reboot after all is said and done...
even though some tard thinks me mentioning *86 as the issue is me "wasting bandwidth" i feel that that is where the issue is.. this is the only rom that i have to change the carrier settings right off the bat instead of defaulting to our sprint voicemail... im not saying im *****ing about the issue in any way but this is an issue ive been having so i thought i would mention that...
now onto things ive tried that never worked....
ive tried just keeping my sprint number as the default but that never works, my only solution has been changing to google voice quickly...
ive called myself exactly 10 times and left myself voicemail messages, then after installing the latest nightly ive change to my voicemail number to sprints and deleted all 10 msgs and that did nothing...
ive gone into the application settings and deleted the phone data cache then quickly change to google voice without success, even after changing the settings i quickly pulled my battery and then started my phone so that it would default to googlevoice and still nothing...
since rom manager has worked for me as a temp fix ive tried doing all the same stuff using ar recovery doing all wipes and whatever else is possible without success, rom manager is the only one that works for me so i just stick to that...
and for those that say the google voice is too hard to setup its really not, just quit being lazy and do ur initial setup through google.com/voice and get urself a number and play with ur settings in there and when ur done with that then start the tutorial up top
i never had this issue until went from a cm6 nightly to zenfx2.2 to update my prl then I nandroided back and now i get these texts every 5 min
I think you guys should think of using Google Voice... Unless I am misunderstanding something, this is a Sprint VVM problem right?

Google Voice is the ****! Use it, enjoy, problem solved!
Man thats some good weed!
I don't like Google Voice... It doesn't give me anything I want. I shouldn't have to get Google Voice to fix a silly problem.
//not complaining about text messages, just Google Voice.

Problem with google voice is that it sometimes disconnects for no reason. I was using it and had to change because it kept dropping me and people would tell me my voicemail did not work.
I'd be cool with G-Voice if it did not do this.

This is just an educated guess and not a statement of fact, but having run the Fresh ROM in the past, it sounds like at some point you flashed your phone with the Fresh ROM, and then maybe flashed back to CM6 but forgot to wipe everything?
When the Fresh ROM boots up, it does indeed say, "Fresh!", so if you're stuck in a boot loop with that ROM's data, you could hear "Fresh!" repeatedly and your phone not start up.
I would go to recovery, do the full factory reset wipe, wipe cache, dalvik cache, and then do your nand-restore or reflash of CM6, google apps, etc.
I hope that this helps.
Thank you for your time,
I would try to just wipe the dalvik and cache first and only do a factory reset if that doesn't work.

I may try it again, as I did not mind G-Voice. But it had happened a few different times. Now I admit I have not tried it since I went to RC2 and the 8/24 nightly.
I'll try setting it up again and see what happens.

[Q] Visual Voice Mail Issues with AOSP Roms

I have one issue maybe someone can help me with. All AOSP Roms I have tried (Faux,CM7) work great but I am unable to get Visual Voicemail or Youmail to work. If I uninstall visual voicemail and reinstall it, I can get all new voice messages. But after a reboot vvm stops working even when trying to manually sync. I have to uninstall then reinstall vvm to get messages again.
Could anyone give me an opinion on what might be my issue?
Thanks so much for your time
Google Voice is generally a much better voicemail service.

While I appreciate your reply, Google Voice, Youmail, and Visual Voicemail all act the same. If I install them they work till I reset my phone. Then they stop working and I have to uninstall and then reinstall. This only happens with AOSP 2.3 Roms.
Wow, that's weird. I have no idea why that would be, maybe it has something to do with your network? I'm just throwing things out.

I have the same issue. Both apps will likely require an update.
My g2 and g2x and my mother's g2 vvm does not work. All my phones or other peoples phones I work on run cm7
G2x with CM7 and faux kernel. NONSENSE!!!!
Same here for me with tmo vvm.
Actually, no need to reinstall, press and hold vvm shortcut, select manage, click clear data, then re try (if desktop is locked in adw, manage option will be missing).... Or, from home, menu, settings, applications, then find vvm, select, select clear data. Not a solution, just faster than reinstalling...
After reboot, it no longer works until you clear data again.

Thanks for this tip...I wonder why more people have not brought this problem up before...Looks like i gotta stick to 2.2 roms till we have a fix.
I received a replacement phone from T-Mobile today. Was hoping a new phone would fix my VVM issue...it did not. Must be something on the T-Mobile end

Google Voice App Activation Outside US

I am a US citizen that just recently moved overseas. I bought a GSM Galaxy Nexus and have been trying to get it set up with google voice so I can text with it and check voicemail. Anyway it require a phone number verification through SMS I guess. Is there a modified apk anywhere that bypasses this? I know you can use voice on a wifi only tablet for texting and voicemail and what not. Is there maybe some way to change my phone's device type just while installing? Anyway, any help would be appreciated. I have searched around for help and mostly just find info on how to get a google voice number outside the US.
Edit: Well I wish there was an easier way but in case anyone stumbles across this I did figure something out. I backed up the copy on my Asus Transformer and just restored the data to my nexus and it works. Mine was loaded on the tab before I left but I bet you could side load the apk on a tablet, sign in, and do the same thing I did since the tablet won't try and do a sms verification.
Talkatone
Try this app called "Talkatone" in the play store should work for you.

Did you root the phone and delete the default Dialer app??
Anyway, try installing some other Dialer app and Contacts app from Play store.
See if the default Dialer or Phone app is disabled in Settings->Apps->Disabled.
If it's disabled, enable them

I have tried everything but I still can't answer. When I make the phone blinks as its going to call screen but nothing happens and it stays on the dialer screen. I have installed dw contact, phone, dialer and still no change. I think there something with the system but there is limited information on this phone model

Google Voice Calling

I use Google Voice as my main phone number and I never had a problem just installing the Google app and having my calls routed through it, but on this phone a get a "Call Not Sent" error. I searched and it seems this is an issue with other Huawei phones, but didn't find any solution. Any ideas?
Can anyone test to confirm it's an issue? Would flashing a Gapps package help?
maybe, cuz flashing gapps package would make them system apps. just make sure u have enough space left on your system partition...
Sent from my Huawei Mate 8 NXT-AL10 using Tapatalk
I deleted some system apps and installed open gapps mini. No luck, still getting the same error. Is it possible to replace the phone apk (not dialer), or is that too tied to the hardware?
I've been using the phone for a couple days now, and I'd hate to give it for such a small (but fundamental) bug...

please explain
i still can't figure it out
Actually it may have been a fluke... I placed one single call and confirmed with the other party it was my Google voice number. Now it isn't working again.
I think I may have fixed it. I copied in some telecom files from AOSP. So far I'm like 5 calls and 2 reboots in and it's holding. I'm going to try to update to the new L-29 OTA, root and then follow the same process. If it works, I'll post the ROM. If it's like what I'm on right now, it's a very nice mix of EMUI and AOSP since most of the Huawei stuff is gone, except some of the handy features, and all the Google stuff is loaded and working.
maybe you could also include a howto, which files to add where so that others may cook up their own emui/aosp mix
Sent from my Huawei Mate 8 NXT-AL10 using Tapatalk
To be honest, I'm really not 100% sure, I kind of brute forced through the testing. What I do know: replacing a couple telecom framework and binaries from the 6P factory image (figured might as well use this), and installing Google voice as a system app, I have gotten it to work every time (for me) as long as it is set to prompt for every call. If set to "use Google voice for all calls", it breaks. My guess is it's a timing issue (emui telecom not giving Google voice the time it needs to make the connection).
I'll attach the ZIP file with all of the telecom components I used (NOTE THAT USING PRIV-APP COMPONENTS -IE TELECOM.APK, SEEMS TO CAUSE A BOOTLOOP).
Also, here is a link to my TWRP backup of my current system. It is 152 with a full Gapps package, Google voice as a system app and the telecom components Frankensteined in. Hopefully it will work on your devices, but just in case it bricks it I won't be giving out my address, least I get picketed
https://drive.google.com/a/adriangb.com/file/d/0B8hgJSh5NMsLVGpicmEwdWpDb00/view?usp=docslist_api
Still no real solution. The ask every time trick works without having to do anything with making Google Voice a system app and it only works 90% of the time.
Can anyone else confirm this issue? I'm discussing it with the vendor I purchased from, they're claiming it works perfectly

This is an old post with little activity, and yet I have this same problem. I have tried all the app setting and permissions, the battery setting etc, but the Mate 8 seems incompatible with Google Voice. The app install fine, sets up normally, and incoming calls to my Google Voice number work. It is just dialing out. All dials get the message "call not sent" and the dialer screen returns to befor the call was placed. The log also does not show an attempted call. I have tried alternative dialers from the play store, but none work. Has anyone solved this, or are there just very few people using Google Voice with this particular phone.
I've been having this same issue and have had the best results just setting it to "ask every time", no other tricks needed.
