Haptic feedback too strong? - HTC Inspire 4G

Got my Inspire today and like it so far. But I find that the Haptic feedback is a bit too strong. I know it can be turned off, but I like to feel that I am touching the screen. There's no app to adjust the Haptic strength? I like the strength when you hold the screen to add a widget and it vibrates a little bit. For me, that is the perfect Haptic strengh.
Anyone with the inspire feel the same?

doesnt really bother me but i know what you mean. It IS strong. I wouldnt mind adjusting it to my liking if possible.

Let me guess.. you both came from captivates
It's not so much the inspire has strong feedback that the captivate has weak...

coming from an Xperia X10, it is a joy to actually "feel" when press the screen

how do you turn the feedback off?

swype accuracy - Vibrant vs MT4G

I feel like Swype is waaayyy less accurate on the MT4G than the Vibrant.
Has anyone else noticed it?
I would guess it is due to a combination of screen size, and touch sensitivity/responsivenes...not that why really matter.. assuming there is no way to correct this.
I really am just curious if others have noticed this.. it get's annoying having to constantly correct.. I know you can change settings for word suggestion and what not.. but I'm not sure if that would bring it to the accuracy level of the vibrant..
What do you all think?
You can change the sensitivity in the settings. Go to Settings > language and keyboard.
Mine is pretty accurateconsidering I'm a horrible peck and hunt phone typist.
Vibrant was way more accurate but I think it had a big thing to do w the screen size...

i feel the complete opposite..
Very interesting, different opinions...Ill play with settings more then..

i don't notice a difference at all in terms of accuracy on my vibrant or mt4g but i did feel that due to the bigger screen size of the vibrant, it felt more comfortable to type.
I'm quite sure the touchscreen on the Vibrant is superior... I've recently switched back to my vibrant from the mt4g and it's quite apparent. The response is quicker to your touch on the vibrant, as well as smoothness tracking your finger(s).
Also one thing (of little consequence but interesting nonetheless) is if you install "Multi-touch visible test" from the market, you can see that the MT4G can handle at most 4 fingers, while the vibrant can handle 5, and it seems the vibrant tracks the fingers quicker and smoother... the mt4g just seems jittery =(
+1 Im with you on this.

My SWYPE seems much less accurate lately, too. I am using a Vibrant, but I recently flashed a new ROM. It's constantly defaulting to really obscure words when there is a MUCH more common word available. It really seems like SWYPE just got retarded all of the sudden.

MT4G Weak Vibration vs Strong Vibration, Which do you have?

Has anyone noticed variations in how strong the vibration is across the MT4G? I originally ordered two on a family plan and have exchanged one of these a few times. I noticed that the one original one that I've kept (a plum one) has a nice strong (and loud) vibration, while the few black ones I have had through exchanges have all had a relatively weak vibration (some more weak than others - and all weaker than the plum). Any other thoughts or experiences with this?
I have the white version. I remember first turning on the phone and thinking "HOLY CRAP, THE VIBRATION ON THIS IS A MONSTER". Definitely the strongest vibration I've seen in any phone I've ever owned. I found it to be unusual at first, but I've gotten used to it.
I have a white one with the new screen and it the vibrate is alot louder than my g2. I love it!

I got a black one and it has strong vibration. Kinda wish you could adjust the intensity, like you can on the Galaxy S. These have a much better screen than those, though...
Comparing my black model to my friend's plum model, I can definitely say the plum has a much stronger vibration effect. That doesn't matter to me though, since I keep all vibrating functions disabled.

Agreed. I find vibration alerts to be annoying. The first thing I do after flashing a new rom is disable the vibration alerts.
Mine seems to be just perfect for me, not too strong but enough to alert me. I would like to compare them to other MT4Gs just for the sake of knowing where mine stands though.
Just received my replacement with the "superior" screen, and yeah, the vibration is noticeably weaker on the newer phone. Not to say that it's necessarily "bad", just that my original phone had ridiculously strong vibration.
Anyway, obviously not a deal breaker, and having the better display is way, way more important. Loving this phone again.
My vibration is fine. Definitely feels more natural than the Vibrants vibration.

Intense Vibration?

Just got my device all set up and did a quality control check. No warped body, no yellow spots, no flickering, pretty much perfect. Except the vibration. When I get a text the vibration is super strong. Like the device rattles and makes noise. Anybody else seeing this? I know it's something that could be fixed with root. But obviously that's not an option yet.
Mine makes a small "woosh" whirring noise when it vibrates, too.
The vibration on my phone is pretty timid compared to my aria.

I think it's just HTC's style. I remember my HTC Tilt vibrated like an earthquake also, lol. Maybe it was designed by women...?
I'd rather have too strong of vibration than too weak like the captivate.

Lower vibration intensity??

So the new HOX I got vibrates REALLY LOUD compared to my other one(s). I know there's no flashable mod to adjust this but is there some file I can modify to lower the intensity globally?
Same here. Would love to figure it out.
specially for the capacitive buttons.
I'm really disappointed to find that there is no option to change vibration intensity or pattern. It may seem super picky but I'm almost ready to return the phone over this. The vibration is so loud and intense that it can be startling often times.
For me personally the vibration intensity is perfect since I have it in a Otterbox Defender Case and I turned the vibrate off for the 3 capacitve buttons since that was annoying to me.

Haptic Feedback Noise

Does everyone else's Pixel 3 haptic feedback raddle so much that it creates a buzz that sounds just as loud as having touch sounds turned on?

Thanks, mine was set to High by default, and I see High, Medium, Low, Off options. :good:
The haptic feedback settings for non stock applications also seem to be very different.
For instance in SwiftKey when you turn off the stock vibration it feels completely different. Using non stock it feels like a vibration on other phones. With the stock vibration it feels more like a click.

Yes, this was the FIRST thing I noticed when setting up my phone. It was SUPER annoying!
All the reviewers keep saying how great the haptic feedback is and how it's almost as good as an iPhone. I agree the iphone's is nice, but this one does not impress me any more than the Pixel 2. I'm not saying it's bad, but does anyone else notice the vibration when you tap the bottom of the screen (for example, the back button), seems to originate from the top of the device. It feels very disconnected from where the taps are taking place on the screen.
At least with the PIxel 2, the entire phone vibrated seemingly equally no matter where I tapped. Either way, I just turn off vibrations for on screen buttons anyway. They drain the battery and don't make any sense. My brain already knows I'm touching a flat surface that isn't moving, so why try to trick it into thinking otherwise with a vibration?

Yes, it's damn annoying. If you look at the teardowns you'll see Google had put the vibration motor like next to the fingerprint sensor ???
****ing morons.
Apple and Meizu put it right next to where the home button used to be.

I love this phone, but reviewers give it way too much praise for as many flaws as it has. Definitely not worth the $800 price tag.

This is so true.. Me, the ultimate phone whore, looking for that most ideal phone for me, who runs trough all phones possible (pixel 3 is my 5th phone in a period of 6months (iphone x, s9+, iphone xs max, pixel 2 ) was also super thrilled when I was hearing them reviewers claiming that the haptic feedback on pixel 3 is the best ever on an android phone.. Bull****..while its quite nice to type with vibration set to low (only setting which makes it ok sound wise) its still the same ****ty haptic feedback as on any other android. None of them come close to that of an iphone, where it feels supernice and natural, especially on the smaller ones where the palm covers the phone in full.
Nonetheless, for me, Pixel 3 is the best phone out-there - great performer at very compact size with best camera* (*photos)) in business + I really like how google skinzzzz its OS - colors, animations, widgets, all of its just looks nice.
