Hi guys is there any software which will allow me to control my phone with proximity sensor. Like move my hand from left to right for next song. Or hold my hand to stop the screen and stuff like that ?

Hello ppl. I`m using Tap Tap App for unlocking my DS because I don`t want to destroy the power button and my question is this: this app or similar ones (like pocket sensor) can destroy in time proximity sensor?
The proximity sensor sits under the screen, you can't touch it, so howdo you think it could be destroyed? Just by using it, i highly doubt it.
Not that I'm aware but you will run your battery down quicker because of the proximity sensor being on all the time
4 days and 10h (staying on) just speaking at phone and some internet and with tap tap app active. who has an desire s what you are using for unlock screen beside power button? i really don`t want to brake it :|
Hi all,
I would like to know where is actually the proximity sensor for this TF300 pad. Is it the one besides front facing camera?
I install "Tap Tap App" to switch ON the pad without pressing the Power button. I tried waving my fingers on the sensor beside front camera but its not working. The apps version I tried on my HTC phone with ICS is working.

I don't believe there is one (it's not a phone, so you don't have to turn off the touch screen when you press it against your face). You can probably use the light sensor to accomplish similar results, though.
In that case...what is that thing that located besides front camera?
or anybody got any suggestion to switch on the screen without pressing the power button?

Maybe the light sensor for the auto-brightness function.
I got this using Elixir 2 apps ..seems like it can detect proximity on the tablet.
I have an old Acer Iconia A500 I wish to repurpose into a "dashboard" and mount on my wall for my home automation system. Ideally, I'd like it to turn off the screen after 5 minutes of not being used (not dim, but off, like I'd hit the sleep button on the side), then wake when someone taps anywhere on the screen, but can't seem to find much information on the topic. I've found Tap Tap App, which relies on the proximity sensor to wake the device when you tap or wave over the sensor, but I think the A500 only has a light sensor, not a proximity sensor, plus a tap is more intuitive.
Does anyone know of a solution?
Does anybody know if its possible to implement a tilt to wake function, similar to the one implemented in the Samsung Galaxy Round? Basically if you push on the top or bottom edge to tilt the phone while its on a flat surface it'll wake up or show you the time or something.
Try Gravity Screen On/Off from the Google Play Store. It uses your phone's proximity sensors and gyroscope to trigger a screen wake.

That's probably possible with Tasker: http://tasker.dinglisch.net/userguide/en/gestures.html
You should try create do your own "script" in automate. It is briliant app. I created shake to torch in 5 minutes. You making it so its perfect for You
So I noticed that double tap on screen to make it light up isnt always working for me, sometimes i have to tap it for like 10 times before it works and sometimes it doesnt work at all.
Anyone else having this issue?
I have the settings turned on.
Settings --> screen --> motion launch --> first one is on.
Would like to hear your experiences with this.
same here.
i think that you need to raise your phone in portrait first (vertically) before you are able to wake it by double tapping
The phone needs to detect movement before double tap to wake to work as per the example in the motion launch settings.
Double tap to wake use proximity sensor and motion sensor. Do you have a screen protector (or anything else) that interfere with proximity sensor ?
No need to raise it vertically. If you move it frankly on a table, you can use double tap to wake.

Im not using a screen protector yet, also the case i'm using is the one that HTC provides.
The Phone is on my table, i tap on twice to unlock nothing.
I did notice that if you tap above the middle of the screen it'll work however if you use the lower end of the screen it wont work.

The phone needs some kind of motion. Chances are you're pressing the top half of the phone which is heavier, and the bottom half is moving enough for the phone to warrant the double top.
If the phone is perfectly still, no matter where you touch it, double tap won't work.
