[Q] New to rooting/flashing - General Questions and Answers

Can someone help me with flashing the CyanogenMOD 7.0.0 RC0 Gingerbread NIGHTLY for the Droid Eris. I know there is a written guide, but a video guide would help even more. I am very new to the whole rooting thing...
Pls? Thx in advance

Did you try searching YouTube

try broadning your search, there would most likely be overall guides which would show the process, i searched custom rom droid eris and it has plenty of video guides

i havent pushed 7 still on six, but i use rom manger from the market for all of my past mods..easy just push to sd open with rom manager, make back up

Hi I just updated my lg - g2x with gingerbread released by t-mobile, my phone which was rooted earlier is not rooted anymore and i have tried all available versions of super one click but none is working. please help i need to try other roms.
Wrong place to be posting this... And there already are tons of threads on this...
But all you have to do is re-flash Clockwork Recovery, and install any ROM you'd like... Preferably a tweaked 2.3.3 OTA ROM.
Links
would you please post a link to that and rooted ota 2.3.3 rom please
i tried to find but nothing seems to work for me
Heres 2 links, 1 based off windows the other off linux. Dont know what OS you use so pick your medicine.

New to rooting with this phone

I have rooted 3 phones prior to this one. I have it all set up and running Refuse 1.7. I have seen that there are a good load of roms available for the infuse 4g. Many of them say 2.3.5, etc. Is that the android version needed by the phone before installing the rom? I am on 2.2.1 and am worried about installing any other rom, than one which has froyo in the name leaving me with only 3 choices. Any help would be appreciated I want to try a miui rom or something else from here but am worried that since I have 2.2.1 when I install one that has 2.3 in its name I will brick.

No bro, the " 2.3.5" or "2.3.6" its that ROMs Android version, not the one needed to install it, still you do need a modified recovery to easily install a custom rom. I would personally recomend this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1220088
as a good guide for new guys trying to install custom roms since the instructions are very detailed and hardly would give you trouble. After installing that rom you would have gathered the necessary knowledge to choose your next rom like MIUI or CM7 or another samsung Infuse rom or Samsung port to Infuse.

[Q] Droid 3 Help (CM9)

So i recently put this rom on my phone...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497884
I have no data service. My model is Xt862.
I used Hascodes patch and it worked for awhile but now losing service again and its yet to come back even after all the rebooting ive done. Ive read, and read, and read, and searched but ive found nothing.
Can anyone help me fix this? If theres something I missed can you provide links? I would highly appreciate this a lot.
Thank you
Flash it back to stock with rsd lite. I assume that's the flash tool you moto guys still use.

[Q] Roms compatible with Sharp FX plus? (ASD1)

Hello XDA,
I have bought a new android device for myself today, the Sharp FX Plus (Model: ADS1) and I've been browsing on the site to find some compatible roms; But no luck. I've used the forums before to successfully root and put a rom on my ASUS tablet with no issues, but this one is a mystery. Is there a thread with what roms are compatible with my phone or has nobody ever really looked into this phone? I've tried to google it with no luck, either. The phone is already rooted, I got that far, I just can't find any roms that are 'confirmed' compatible with it.
Thanks to whoever replies!
P.S. I'm slightly new to the whole custom rom thing - but I do somewhat understand the basics.
metoo!
I too have a sharp fx plus ads1. I have my phone rooted but am having no luck finding a custom rom. I understand it is kind of an entry level android and maybe out of date but it has all the capabilites I need. I also know enough to root my phone and install a rom but not good enough to actually create my own custom rom. Is there anyone that has the time and enjoys doing so that would help out with a custom rom for these phones? I found a page that mentioned updated to 3.2 with a new rom but there was no link for the rom so I'm thinkning it was a fake. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

EDIT: I posted in Misc Android Development section here, trying to put the information in a centralized area for any potential development on this device.
Recompiled the CM7 Kernel as a test using the device's config.gz, working on getting the CM7 source to go (its being tricky lol). I have a test CyanogenMod 6.1.2 ported from a Z71 that runs, as well as a modded stock 2.2.2 ROM. A "dirty-port" test of a Z71 CM7 rom boots with some mods (no radio, networking, etc..) - so there may be some hope for this lil thing!
Hope that helps

[Q] How to Root Samsung Galaxy S 4G and Install Jelly Bean 4.3 (CyanoGenMod)

Hi Guys,
I am an IT person, but totally new to Android. I am having Samsung Galaxy S 4G (T959v) running GingerBread (2.3.6).
I had upgraded from Froyo to GingerBread using Kies mini... and since that I am facing a lot of issues running... like slow responsiveness, phone hangs, some times unable to make calls, very high RAM usage etc...
So to fix these issues, I am thinking to install custom ROM (Jelly Bean 4.3 - CyanogenMod 10.2). But I don't know how to do that.
What I read on thread is it first needs to ROOT the device, but I am not sure how to ROOT the device.
Please help me to ROOT the device in easy steps and install custom ROM.. (Off course without bricking my device )
Thanks.
Look at the second link in my signature. Instead of flashing the whole package just flash AntonX's kernel. Read the first couple of posts in the Heimdal thread and you will hopefully know what I am referring to.
From there, follow the directions in the OP of the ROM thread that you would like to flash. The OP will also tell you what works and does not work for that ROM.
I would suggest making a backup copy of your efs folder for the just in case..
