This might not belong here and should perhaps go in the Galaxy S subforum but I would like to get the opinions of more than just those who have the phone in general.
I am wondering what people think will happen regarding the hacker and dev community with regards to the Samsung Galaxy S. Samsung have put in a good deal of effort to the market the phone. They might even be embracing the hacker community, leaving the phone relatively easy to root when compared to previous Samsung phones. This suggests that they have realised the benefits that come with a good dev community behind their phone and are trying to pull people towards it.
The question is - will the community take the bait? Currently the community favours phones from rival companies such as the HTC Desire. Generally, the subforums for the Desire are filled with new releases while the Samsung Galaxy S' subforums are still relatively empty. Do you think people slowly gravitate towards the new Galaxy S and its new hardware and develop as many apps as they have been for the Desire and other HTC phones before it?
The reason I am asking this question is because I am going to buy a new phone at the end of August and am picking between the Desire and the Galaxy S. I really like the new hardware on the Samsung but am worried that if the community doesn't embrace the Galaxy S, updates will stop coming (Samsung are notorious for not supporting their own phones for very long). If people think devs will slowly move to the Samsung Galaxy S, I will almost certainly get that phone. If not, then I might stick to the Desire.

Because themes and ROMs magically appear out of thin air.
Do you even know if the device has been rooted? :/
yes i rooted my phone and i didnt mean that
what you think bro
i m using 2.3.4 and rooted
froyo also can b rooted with super one click
yes its an emerging device so the development should be encouraged
@ XDA moderators i am expacting a reply plz
Do you have any idea how many devices that XDA already provides a home for? Unless there's a SERIOUS audience for a device, it won't be added. They've said this so many times before. You probably won't get a reply from the Mods.
k thanx
The device is fairly old, and specs are very low. Can't really see much development interest in a device like it...

I don't think you guys get it, you're not getting a forum if they don't think there's enough demand for it.
5 of you asking over and over again won't change that.
@liquidsolstice
Bro its k if we r not gettin a new forum but can u just help us out n figure out a good way to request the developers for us.... I really need to grow now.....please suggest us something....

bro if i have gt 5670 and i am demanding forum there is nothing bad in it
everyone want development for his phone
and this websight for us too maybe we will get it later
I checked with the magic 8 ball and it said "Chances not so good". Im pretty sure XDA's magic 8 ball must have said the same thing, hence the lack of a forum. Cheers
Why discrimination ؟؟
Main forum for galaxy fit Required
yah the forum should be on xda
xda should should support this new phone i may be too demanding.
thanx for ur support guys
I'm telling you, you need a much larger demand than just the few of you.
Have you reached out to anyone with the phone who's messed with it? Perhaps a system dump? Maybe seeing if the hardware is similar enough to something to port?
You can't just jump in, make requests, and assume XDA will magically make it happen, guys.
why xda team members still thinking to open a seperate forum for samsung galaxy pocket s5300???????????we need it badly and we need more custom roms like galaxy y,,,,,,galaxy pocket is much more better than galaxy y and there are more users now......please start a seperate forum and make devs to work on galaxy pocket s5300.......:crying::crying::crying:
Nice try man. This way, you will only piss the senior mods off.

Hey people.
I see there is more and more people who request some ROMs for already mentioned device.
It's shame that after all that request there isn't even a field with all Samsung Galaxy Pop Plus software and etc.
There are some ROMs (7 of them) which are just copys of Samsung Galaxy Y (they have simmilar hardware).
With this thread I'm beggin' Senior and Veteran Android Coders/Developers to make first step with this device on XDA Forum.
At least for start, please edit excellent Galaxy Y ROMs so they can work on Galaxy Pop Plus.
Dear administrators of XDA-developers,
Lately a lot has been done around the Windows Phone 8 Developement and Hacking forum and most of that work contributed by really talented developers was related to the Samsung ATIV S. The ATIV S is the first Windows Phone 8 device to be Interop Unlocked and I see further progress coming. Maybe developers will be able to full unlock or even root the device in the near future, so that custom ROMs for the device will become reality. Currently it is only possible to flash signed ROMs with Custom CSC, but I progress is coming.
That's why I want to request an own section for the Samsung ATIV S in behalf of the Windows Phone 8 developer community on XDA-developers. I think that this will make their work much easier and better organized and will avoid posts like:"When will this be available for my Lumia 920?" or similar.
I am really looking forward to hearing from you and would love to see an own section for the ATIV S at XDA-Developers. With further work contributed by developers the Samsung ATIV S could become a worthy successor of the legendary HTC HD2.
Best regards,
