Think i'll test this one for you sir
Thank you! I have been looking for this for a week now!
Works good so far only problem is black screen when I click on songs tho. Still play but can't stop or lower volume. Other than that works really good.
Testing been looking forward to this!

i was able to boot the app but as soon as i could get it to start playing it would FC, then made everything start to FC, Had to nandroid back to my old setup, did not work. Used CWM3 BTW
This is always expected, things work for some and not at all for others for some reason.
Being I don't have a hero anymore I can't figure out why it worked for 3 users and not for 1 so far.
But maybe with some log me and the team can scale things done and fix some issues

I too have this same problem.
Just used it again and got the black screen to leave so everything works perfect now

crashes a lot, but it does work. I have the blank screen bug randomly as well. usually it will play the song for a minute and then go back to the library.
Had it working pretty good for a min with the usual FC's but after i decided to switch to the Cyanbread theme that baby wont even up anymore..guessing it doesn play too nice with theme chooser lol

I've decided to release two of the ROMs I use frequently. These are pretty much the stock ROMs made by the respective owners; Adam G & Cyanogen, however i've removed some stuff that I never use.
I've added the apps+cache2sd to Cyan's ROM because it doesn't have it native yet, and I've also reintegrated Google Apps back in to save two flashes.
I symlink /etc/hosts to /sdcard/etc/hosts because AdFree can't update the file in it's default location due to rw limits on /system.
I've also added some apps that I always installed anyway, but i've put them on /data/apps so they can be easily removed if you want to.
There are two branches with essentially the same mods:
C = CyanogenMod
O = Open Desire
Current base ROMS
C - CyanogenMod 6 RC2 & DT A2SD+ v2.7.5rc2 + Google Apps re-integrated
O - Open Desire 3.4.2
Common features:
- ADW Launcher 1.1.1 as stock launcher
- Black status bar with custom full colour icons
- Icons patched in MMS, Market, GMail to work with black status bar
- "hosts" file symlinked to /sdcard/etc/hosts to allow AdFree updating
- Magic Smoke & Visualisation Live wallpapers removed.
- Amazon MP3 removed
- ProTips removed
- QuickOffice removed
- Facebook & Twitter moved to /data/app - allows easy removal
Addtional Apps - all installed to /data/app
- AdFree
- Facebook
- Twitter
- RomManager
- SetCPU 2.0.2
- Titanium Backup
- Quick Settings
TO-DO
- Optimize PNG's
- Build in interface colour change without having to import from sdcard
- Build in ADW settings
- Boot animation
- More sexy visual changes
- Make status bar battery percent less jumpy
- Fix SetCPU FC on O branch

I like the idea behind it, will give it a try. Its pretty much exactly what I did after I put Cyanogen RC2 cept I didn't bother with the App2SD.
Sounds interesting mate, I gave a look to CyanogenMod' ROM some weeks ago and I loved it, but I can't live without A2SD+.
Thank you.
Hmmm.. I've been waiting for old school a2sd in cyanogen.
Will give it a try (besides, you'll probably get me fired if I dont )
EDIT:
The cyanogen one worked nicely, abeit a tad slower in quadrant than OD 3.4.2
Not sure if adfree is working, as I'm seeing ads in things that I dont get ads in in OD
nandroided back to my modded OD, although I did flash your font over afterwards
Install went fine with no issues. Quite impressed with it. Good job.

Strange, i had it running ALL night playing MP3's and its only dropped to 60%.
Also there shouldn't be any difference between this and the original ROM as i've not tweaked them power usage wise.

I just noticed that the battery indicator does not drop gradually; it drops in steps of 20%. After a full charge, it stayed on 100% for quite a while, and then it dropped straight to 80%. This led me believe the Rom was eating up the battery.

Wait & see
I'm not sure if it did create a hosts file or not, guess I'm just used to dnlgee's hosts file that's in od
I've picked your rom apart, and made a zip that'll add the bits I want from it to flash over od (just the font and a few command line utils that are in cyanogen but not od). Let me know if anyone wants it uploading somewhere

ZipEE Tek is proud to release:
ZipEE-2.0-DesireHD
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Change Log for ZipEE-2.0-DesireHD
Mms Fixed
Mms Size limits increased
Wap Push Removed from messaging(gsm feature we cannot use)
Added Sprint/Evo Settings for setup
HTC_IME keyboard with Arrows(since we do not have a jogball)
User Dictionary FC Fixed
Back to stock bootscreen for faster Hibernate return
Others I forgot
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Notes: I dont really like to release roms that are not ground breaking from other roms but Since I am going to be using and working on this I figured might as well release it. I have been looking at the DesireHD roms out and some are not being updated/worked on really. IncDoes has done a great job at getting things working but most of the stuff is setup for verizon and the incredible so Here is a version setup for sprint. The base is from IncDoes 0.6.1 and all verizon settings etc have been swapped for sprint and the evo as well as a couple fixes i have added. I will attempt to keep this updated as I get stuff working.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Install Notes: ZipEE Roms will auto wipe /data /system. If the Rom will not boot please wipe everything again.
Have a question on what something is or what it means? Check the changelog above and also the
FAQ: http://zipeetek.com/topics/faq
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are new to ZipEE: The Rom will auto wipe /data and /system from your last rom. Make sure you nandroid backup before flashing anything.
Fair warning: if you ask me something that is already answered in these release notes, the faq, or the known bugs then I’m probably not going to respond.

Can anyone confirm if it has the locations app that does the compass/map integration?
Amazing, simply amazing... Up and running now for just over an hour. No FC's and I feel like I have a new phone. Everything is so smooth its just unbelievable.
Is there any way to get VVM integrated into this ROM? If not It's not a big deal as I have the APK.

Sweet work
A problem I have come up with is during a call, if you have to enter a number to get thru to something else the system does not "hear" the number. Example... If during a call you have to press 1 for English (which BTW pisses me off) the call doesn't seem to react to the number press.
Hope this helps. I like a lot of ROM's that are out there (I've used them all) and NONE of them are as smooth and silky as this one.
cant wait to get home and try this.
Thanks for your hard work.

It works on myn 4.95 thanks
Swyped from Eva my Mynion running Myn's RLS4.95!
why doesnt it say what music im playing on my notification bar when i pull down
@menendez its a standalone app... we dont have gps on gingerbread yet so i wouldn't expect any integration of this for quite some time... it doesn't give controls at the lock screen either
I think it's pretty slick looking. Plays music fine with no force closes on Warm 2.2. It does show up in my notification bar while music is playing, but it just says the process name.
Kinda slow on my incredible, but plays music fine. Notifications and etc is not functioning correctly in this leak though
Is it just me or are there not any options to repeat a song(s)?
Well I know I picked my phone up and it wouldn't show ANY of my music. Had to go into Settings > Application > Music > Force Stop. That will fix that
i also found out that it bugs out if you exit i=the app and put it in the background
i also found out that it bugs out if you leave the app open

Perhaps try the latest nightly, I installed it again just for kicks and it worked for me again. Just installed and it went through, no fc's.
Does anyone have a working link to the app. I just clicked on the one at Android Police and it says it's not working anymore. Maybe if someone could put it in there dropbox and send me a link
What Is It?
It's an ICS styled Settings modification. It won't do your dishes, but it will make your Gingerbread 2.3.4 phone a bit fresher. It will NOT Work on Tsugi or JBoxer's 2.3.4 as those are based on the leak. Your best bet right now is Kwes1020's Rom.
Does it do anything Special?
A few of the settings are easier to access than previously. Other than that, it looks pretty.
A couple of icons are missing!
Well yeah, I got bored. I might fix 'em later, or leave it to a themer to add the icon for Tethering.
Can I see it?
Sure! Attachments included.
Can I install it?
I'm lazy and didn't make a flashable ZIP. Maybe that's also to keep people who don't know what they're doing from flashing it on Weapon/Tsugi/cm9/cm10/their dog, etc and then complaining.
If you have OTA 2.3.4 copy the attached Settings.apk to your system/app folder, and you'll have the new Settings. Yay.
Note: 10/19/12 - I fixed the bluetooth crash.

Could have to do with the Bluetooth connection notification sound. I don't have access to the files right now as I started a new job that's taking up 60+ hrs/week plus commute...
However, the fix is pretty simple if it's what I think it is... you have to open the APK file with winrar, copy the audio file from the resources folder, delete it from the archive, and then copy it BACK to the same location in the archive. When the options window comes up, change the compression level to "store"..
This is due to two bugs... 1) APKTool doesn't always leave audio resources uncompressed as it should, 2) Android sometimes force closes if an audio resource is compressed. Problem was supposed to be fixed in Gingerbread, but LG is using Froyo code in the kernel so the problem persists.
Yeah, it's months later. OTA is dead and done with.
But I fixed that crash bug when pairing bluetooth using this settings.apk, if anyone wants an ICS looking Settings on their 2.3.4 OTA Rom ... all 2 of you lol... Original post has been updated with the newer Settings.apk.

i am proud to present my 6th rom port for the heroC.
changelog:
v1
- updated to reflect henry_01's 2.7.8 port
v1-1
- added quickpic (sorry about that guys, totally forgot it)
-lowmemorykiller tweaks are now in line with roms from jordfaz and 1ceb0x
-wallpapers and sounds are now added back in
-size of apks edited some to allow for the same sized rom as v1 but with all the sounds and images put back in
to start, im not gifted enough to know how to develop, im just a lowly borrower, so if i have nothing to borrow, i have nothing to offer
also i take no responsibility for your phone crashing and burning in an epic fashion, and/or if your cat jumps off your keyboard and makes your coffee spill on your lap, or war, or famine, or disease, or anything of the sort. try at your own risk, dont bother me if your phone blows up
dont give me any credit, give the following people mad props and donate to them if you wish to:
original rom link from wfs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1735773
Henry_01 for his port (link above)
ajrty33 for porting the first MIUI ICS rom
erwinp for the youtube fix
stritfajt for getting the camera working
mongoosehelix and all the crew over at the eris forums for the base rom
1ceb0x and the crew over at the hero gsm forums for the init.rc tweaks and the minfree settings in kernel
dsixda and his kitchen
matt, dastin, jaybob and the heroc crew
zeppelinrox and his v6 supercharger script
im sure i forgot people, im sorry if i did and if i forgot you please yell at me and ill make sure to thank you
this is based off of 4.0.4, MIUI v4 for the Wildfire S
what works:
touchscreen
sdcard
radio (data and calls)
adb
camera preview and taking pics
bigger keyboard, more like gb
wifi
sound
buttons
audio
root
vibration
bluetooth
zeppelinrox's supercharger script (just to supercharge launcher)
video playing from sdcard (use quickpic and .3gp video format)
minfrees set in kernel at boot time
mms hopefully
usb mass storage
themes
youtube (non hd)
try messing with camera settings in camera app, i turned down the resolution from 5 mp to 2.5 and picture taking worked quicker and looked better in my opinion
works with problems:
long press home displays large previews, not sure why just yet
other stuff im sure
what i didnt test: (lol its your jobs to test it)
pretty much everything else
when you flash this, remember i did not sign it, so if your using clockworkmod recovery toggle signature verification
i recommend you go let this boot all the way, then reboot. then after that, go into settings-developer options, and click the tick box next to:
background process limit/ at most 4 processes
show all ANRs
and make sure animations are off
i turn off all vibration, except for notifications, that includes the keyboard as haptic feedback slows things down.
then use script manager to run zeppelinrox's v6 supercharger to bulletproof launcher
this is the gapps i use from eris: http://www.mediafire.com/?qbpc1zthauh4c1h
md5sum: 2b4d664eda701da65d2ea2c5c928267d
(this is the same gapps offered over at the eris forums, i just added geniewidget as i like my news and weather widget)
go into phone app, hit menu, then settings, and check your voicemail number, im on boost so mine is my phone number
this port will not:
most likely be a finished project
win a beauty contest
make your manhood bigger
if you see something wrong, please fix it or ask me to
and now for the link before i forget:
MIUI 4.0.4v1-1
http://www.mediafire.com/?hjvpm1t1w31bqgw
if you see problems or have suggestions, please let me know. i dont know much about MIUI, as i havnt used it much since ajrty33 ported it for heroc (gb and original ics roms.) so if you see something that needs changed to better fit the mold of a good MIUI rom, please do let me know.
happy flashing!

Other than that, it's a really great ROM. It runs very smoothly.
Sorry about the su issues, but I think its the way that miui implements su that gives us headaches. In settings somewhere, there should be an option for root access I'm just not sure where it is. I'll look into it.

Yeah I've look at the system settings and unless it's under a different name, I don't see anything that deals with root access.
so here it goes guys. im out of the game for now. expect no new updates on the ics roms i have ported before. jb is the future, and shelnutt is the guy to get us into the future. ics roms never quite ran great anyway, so no big loss. i may pop back up in the future and throw down on some jb paranoidandroid, aokp, miui, or anything of the such, but i cannot guaruntee a thing. its been nice, but support for these roms stops here. (unless of course, anyone else would like to take these over for me, or i can get the guys from gsm hero using my allinone installer full time, then heroc will have everything they get)
if anyone would like to take over, please message me. ill be more than willing to send everything your way, since im way too busy with life in general right now.
