I just broke the touchscreen on my imate. The screen itself looks good and is working but I am missing a big part of the touchscreen (can't tap on it). Learning the fun of using the buttons.
I have been searching for quiet a bit on the web for someone who sells replacements and instructions on how to do it.
If you have any ideas please let me know.
PDASmart.com and GetHighTech.com don't have it and to send it back it will be $300+, looking for a cheaper resolution.
FWIW: I took it apart already, the screen has these numbers on it's back:
S/N: 1LLA23CA096717
P/N: 60H00011 - 00
ACX502AKN-7 350A73D
(the acx number seems to be a sony part number but I can't locate the part anywhere)
The number on the touchscreen is F2 NY-A29B 002
(I am attaching pictures, I have the hi-res version if interested)
Thanks,
Amr
digitizer found!!
Hi all,
I sent my imate to pdascmart.com, I just got word from them that they now do replacements for digitizers and screens for the imate/xda2/mda2.
However, replacing them is extremely hard and not like the xda. It is recommended to send it to them unless you have good experience in fixing electronics.
The ribbon on this screen is soldered not connected like the xda.
I'm really sorry for you..
well ive got mine changed.. a friend of mine who lives in london.. said he would arrange to get a replacement from O2(though i have i-mate).. it cost me about 260$..
anyways im curious how did you get it broke???
Hey all,
I've got mine on pre-order and have been looking around for ideas about what comes in the box. I found this: http://www.slashphone.com/htc-touch-diamond-unboxing-16485 and various other links to the same sourse.
It appears you get a charger, headphones, USB lead. However, there is no case?
There were rumours around that the special self-cleaning case might be included: http://www.phonemag.com/htc-touch-diamond-handset-cleaning-case-photos-video-052706.php but this is not present in the unboxing pics. For a phone to come from HTC without a case is a little strange...
Anyone found anything more about this???
R
Ok i buy used diamond from ebay, and everything is fine except of keypad it has some strange thing on it
Picture will tell everything
Look around the edges and around mid button...
Do anyone here have similar problem?
I found on the net spare part and I wanna order it!
And every disasembling tutorial you have will help
Did anyone do something like this?
Just order and replace with the standard manual that's all over the internet.
The keypad is the only thing you can replace easy.
I replaced my lcd and digitizer with a lot of problems, but it's working now

I think you don't need to change keypad similar problem I have lived. Check this thread :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=492284
I think you have a screen protector, by default keypad has factory default protector. Firstly you can remove your protector, then factory default, after that you can use any protector suits for this area.
hello,
does anybody know difference between these lcd types for vox :
60HH00087-00MM
60HH00088-00MM
are they compatible ?
i have vox with broken 60HH00087-00MM, after replace lcd with 60HH00088-00MM phone starts but lcd is black (old lcd works, but it's broken)
Where did you get the replacement from? Was it announced to fit the Vox?

i buy it as a brand new spare part for vox, seller said that never found diffrent types of lcd's
Can you derive if just the backlight is not ok and the screen works (you need some very bright light to see this) or will it stay without any signs of life?
Anyway it is simply defective - return it to the seller.
both types works fine, problem was with my assembling process and lcd connector
Yes, you need to know how to unlock/lock the connector for the LCD flexcable, otherwise it will not connect.
Are you happy with the brightness of the LCD? I had one replacement LCD which was only half as bright as the original one (like the dimmed state there) - no more readable in direct sunlight.
If it is as bright: where did you buy it?
Hey Folks,
I just disassembled my Photon.
The glass was broken and I got a new one on ebay.
Disassembly went good, i used this guide.
On boot, the LCD backlight turns on, but screen stays black. green LCD in upper left corner blinks just as usual. (turns red when charged)
this issue was discussed in the video comments, but there came no other solution then "check plug, check cable"...
The cable of the LCD screen seems ok, i can't see any broken lane, and the plug is fine too.
Did anybody experience this issue and could give me a hint?
Thanks guys
yes, had absolutely the same issue when replacing the glass.
Solution = replacing lcd,too.
sorry
This is so annoying.
I just tested again.
I used "Windows CE Remote Zoom" (this is shipped in the Visual Studio Toolbox) to get a view to my phone. It responds to my guestures, also sends a signal on some touches to vibrate (bottom bar).
backlight is workin, but no picture on the screen.I hate it so much, hate it.
At least I could do a PimBackup, tryin to touch the right area on the screen using "WinCE Remote Zoom"...

I shot a used device on ebay, which didn't cost me as much as a new LCD-screen. On The other hand, I am pretty good in assembling the mini. If anyone needs info, PM me
