thank you

Nice write up!

Thanks! I thought it would be helpful. Hopefully I got close to all of the changes.Anything else you guys notice would be helpful.

media hub isn't on your list if you wanna add that.

It might be worth noting support for the honeycomb music widget download here and improved youtube widget. and also the wonderful improvement on copy and paste function, along with the cursor

Updated!! Thanks!

Awesome! Fixing to flash it as soon as it finishes downloading.

In the OP it suggests trying to reflash with the other file too, might help you out. After i put a custom launcher on mine, it seems as fast as before I upgraded.

Yea I put launcher pro and it helped but the Droid X keyboard kept FC when I tried to load it and i had to flash it again
Here are some screen shots I made

I have noticed that is does Vibrate More than it used to. I see there is an option to change the strength of it now
Here is a direct download link from my server for Froyo : http://filehostonline.com/files/1/SCH-I500_USCC_EA11_REL_ROOT.tar.md5.zip

where do you adjust the vibration? the only thing I found was adjusting the vibration for the haptic feedback. nothing else. my phone now vibrates longer for notifications than I want.

I also found that launcherpro helped, although the phone was no slouch either. Battery life is much better for me.

I have had no trouble with lag or anything and I use Touchwiz. I didn't use the pit file either weird.

So far so good. Doing a restore of all my backed up programs. Seems to be pritty spiffy.

What version of Swype is on there?

Installed, and speed is fantastic. A little torn now because I really liked the look of the phone/browser on your launcher2, but this things speed makes it a close call. Havent found a bug yet.
This thing is blazing fast compared to Launcher2.apk. Is there a way we could get one that auto rotates like there was for the G1/MT3g?

yea those two things are the problems with the launcher,
it seems that everything is good till you try to change background or go to settings for the launcher, it will be pretty cool is someone could fix it cuz its a very nice android launcher, that hasnt been done in any other android phone before.
**and with the notification bar the actual Acer liquid stream phone coming out later on this summer when i saw the youtube unbox and demo, i think the notification bar is right in the middle of the bar where you drag your applications to go up instead of being on top like other phones.
just like this
to fix the setttings force closing you have to push system/media/wallpaper and system/media/AcerDatabases into the system media folder and it will work.
You get that from the dump of the liquid. here is a link to download the dump if anyone wants to try it

Ok, so I am a ****n idiot, I need to know how I push those files without rooting, because I have an EVO™ 4g with 2.2.

hmm wonder if the entire ui widgets and all that great stuff could be ported over hmmm.....
This launcher is really cool, much better than Touchwiz and Motoblur garbage
So I installed it, set it as my default launcher for about 3min, and now I can't set a wallpaper in landscape resolution...basically I'm now stuck with a non-scrolling wallpaper.
EDIT: A reboot fixes the issue. Phew!
Hope some awesome dev ports this to the evo

I got it to not force close. Don't know if it will work for anyone else but here is what i did. Slide screen to the right to view your photos, select an album then select a photo after selecting photo to view hit the menu button and set as wallpaper. Now that you have manually selected a wallpaper you can long press on home screen without it force closing. You can not select the pre-installed wallpapers but you can select any wallpapers you manually made and you can also select live wallpapers. Let me know if it works for you.
I second that! this is quite awesome, can we place this where it might get noticed? it is in its proper place though, well I it gets noticed
good to here.

flashing now. ill report back soon
flashed and got an error
E:board does not support mtd utils.
E:Failure at line 92:write_raw_image PACKAGE:boot.img BOOT:installation aborted
I will test. This is exactly what I'm looking for.
The only thing I would want from this is the lock screen mod. I tried applying the lock screen mod from the EVO forum, but that didn't work. Any chance you can make the mod available?
Rom looks pretty slick

I am trying to help the new rom being tested, and the first time i flashed the rom it was fine. It installed perfect, then the keyboard as well as the setup crashed, so i was not able to run it, however upon trying to re flash the rom i get an error saying "E:Board does not support mtd utils.E:Failure at line 92:write_raw_image PACKAGE:boot.img BOOT: Installation aborted."
does anyone know whats going on? i wiped the data, cache, as well as the dalvik cache.
Ok, so I have the ROM installed and here is what I am seeing so far:
Working
Bluetooth scanning (I didn't attempt a pair)
Wifi
Potential issues
I get a text on VMs now
com.htc.android.htcime FCs when in portrait mode and clicking on a text box (the soft keyboard never appears)
same process continuously FCs when in landscape and clicking on a text box (this makes the device mostly useless right now as I can't get the FC box to stay away for good)
MMS receive is not working
I'm going back to old ROM until a new build is available.

[ROM][14 DEC 2011] ModROM v1.01 - High Resolution [2.3.7][CM Kernel]

ModROM v1.01
High Resolution
This is a ROM based on the CM7 Stable 7.1. I found issues with webpage rendering with the nightly 59. Battery is good and stability is what you'd expect. I thought we needed another stock ROM with some basic changes, Ive removed some APKs to lighten the ROM and played around with the build.props file and added some changes to help maximise battery life and signal reception.
Rom has no Google apps - you can download them from the Cyanogenmod site.

Whats been changed:
v1.01
1) Corrected resolution to work with the lockscreens.
2) Removed Gallery3D (Use Quickpic dammit!)
3) Removed File Manager
4) Added ES File Explorer
5) Themed notification pulldown
6) Edited TCP Buffers which should help in signal speeds
7) Further decreased delay with call connection
8) Further decreased delay with proximity sensor
v1.0
1) Enabled hardware video for GUI - seems alot more smoother than previous
2) Shortened delay of the proximity sensor when ending calls
3) Increased screen resolution so more shortcuts can be added to the homescreen and also appears 'nicer' (This affects a couple of the lockscreen appearances as they dont scale well with the higher resolution but the Sliding Tab option works well)
4) Increased the time for scanning for wifi networks to 3 minute intervals to help with battery life.
5) Decreased time to connect call.
6) Changed the CM Bootloader animation and substituted a nicer one by Dysgenic (Cheers!)

New version has been uploaded. Details are in the top post. New screenies too.
what is the sense of flashing this rom? you only changed dpi size and removed some apps?
I decided it'd be cool for the really newbie people. Plus this is my first attempt at playing around with ROMs so cut me some slack. Some folk dont even know how to change the simple stuff.

hey, you gotta start somewhere! There's nothing wrong with having a larger choice of ROMs. This is good for people who don't know how to add these tweaks or might be too scared to. Looks good though.

Remove brightness slider / Add Wifi toggle to stock TouchWiz Jelly Bean

I created a mod to get rid of the brightness slider (I use auto-brightness 99% of the time) and added back the Wifi toggle that I had in another mod that was for ICS. Here's a screenshot:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
So the mod only involves:
Adding the Wifi toggle
Removing brightness slider
Changing the padding around the 'No notifications' text (it gets funked up after removing the slider)
Removed useless e911 location icons from showing up in status bar
That's all that was done. Just unzip the file and drop SystemUI.apk into /system/app, change permissions on the file to rw-r--r-- and then restart and you're good to go. You have to be rooted obviously.
This has been tested on latest JB leak VRBLK1.
I hope others might find it somewhat useful. Thanks.
Edit: I've moved on to adding a blue theme to this original mod which can now be found here. I'm sorry about the multiple posts. Moderators, please feel free to delete this post if you catch this.
What file manager do you recommend. I have never moved a system file.
I tried this with ghost commander, and it will not let me over write a system file
Thanks
I may be missing it- but I don't see a downloadable file and/or link. Also, if you just want to remove that annoying slider (I too use auto 99% of the time), do you have a mod for that, or know where one is? Also, I'd like to keep the green, but I'm not picky- I just want that darn slider gone.
Let me know.
Thanks

Is there any way to make this work on an SII? (E4GT) I have scoured XDA and other sites looking for a mod or hack to remove the slider for my model, and have had no luck thus far. There are many different toggle mods I've found out there, and yet none of them put in an option to remove or edit the brightness slider.
I am still amazed by this, because personally I think it is the stupidest add to JB, and even more idiotic that there are zero setting options to enable/disable it. I did see that in a recent update for the SIII, they added this option, but still no one has adapted it for the SII yet. I too use auto-brightness, so the slider is worthless to me, and it takes up a third of the space in the notification bar when you drag it down- poor design and zero functionality for me.
I've posted a question in the E4GT Q&A section twice about a mod for it and not one person had anything to offer one way or another. I guess I'm just really surprised there is little discussion and even less progress on this.
