I am currently using an XDA1 with an o2 carkit, Haicom 204e and TT5 wih no problems, however, I am considering ungrading to a Seimens SX66 (Blue Angel?) and using a bluetooth GPS receiver. My questions are:
Is there a carkit available for the SX66?
Are there any problems I am likely to encounter with compatibility (I have noticed a few people reporting issues with TT5/bt/Blue Angel and don't want to upgrade to somthing that doesn't work)?
Thanks.
I think it will no work your idea
I think you better buy a universal and benefit from WM 2005 while you are at it. You obviously don't need quadband - so I would say a universal is a good device
Deke, is there any need to upgrade if you are happy with your present setup?
Well, I would like a gps system that can be moved from the car, and also a PDA with integral WiFI - an SX66 would satisfy both of these requirements (if the bt gps were battery powered).
Also, Mrs Deke's XDA1 has suffered some damage and won't last much longer. She says an XDA1 is all she needs, but I'm reluctant to get her a s/h XDA1 if I can use this opportunity to replace my system and let her have my XDA1.
But if the SX66 won't run tt5 properly with a bt - or if there are other issues I'm not aware of - then I'll just get her a used XDA1 and I'll keep mine.
I've also been looking at the HP 6365 - any thoughts on that?
i have mine since the 16 april and still enjoying it !
no trouble with it.
i just found that i can t get called when i use wlan connection, maybe i lost something...
(i m posting here using my SPV E650 with a wlan connection with a Orange Livebox at home)
I got the HTC S710 but I'm thinking of returning it because I managed to get deep scratches on the screen whilst taking really good care of it. And since I do more typing than dialing numbers I'll probably stick with my excalibur, because its a bit slow to change from portait to landscape when you slide the keyboard out. It was cool to be one of the first to play with it though.
I have one...trying to get blackberry connect to work
I got the HTC version of the phone.
And it keeps getting better due to the tips and tricks in this forum.

Try a different ROM/radio ROM. Some ROMs have some issues, that are only rectified in different builds or with different drivers.

Hello!
Well, i have the same problem(no wifi), and I am trying to do diag's
and I have tried 10-15 times so far , different rom's clean/full(wm5, wm6 wm6.1)
different radios (69.21, 19.21, 43...) in a G4 hardspl-ed.
So I was thinking what else should i try ?
Is there a debug version?
It would be cool to add some diagnostics to wiki!
ps: it was a second hand from ebay

AFAIK, apart from MTTY (which I can't use well) there are no diagnostic tools...
What I would suggest, is flashing the original ROM for your device, and seeing if that works...

well it seems that orange don't have official rom, i'm making tests on power drain
to see if there are "leaks" but the problem is that it is dependent to firmware,
the minimum that i saw was about 16mA with some "clean" rom but typically it
can go up to 56mA
Also i was thinking about firing up a Linux kernel but i don't thing that the wlan is supported (yet).
DASH Power Drain Possible Reason
Hey all, I've got a T-Mobile Dash (HTC Excalibur) running WM6.1 Kavana, which is great!
Thing is, it does not stay lit very long. 5 maybe 6 odd hours.
No Wifi. (Driver not loaded error)
I installed Facada 1.4.9 on it, and somehow, the wifi came back, and was functional, for a whole of one day.
Here's the kicker. The phone was at 100% that morning, when I installed Facade. By 10PM the phone was at 81%, amazing! Hasn't lasted that long (960Mah).
Thing is, I tried the Wi-fi, and it has once again failed. (after 10PM). Battery returned to superdrain mode.
My hypothesis is that the driver doesn't load, because the Wifi is already on, and is not functioning properly! Therefore, since it is on, the battery is draining rapidly trying to maintain power to the wifi. And since the driver doesn't initialize, the phone doesn't recognize (software) that the wifi is on, therefore you can't turn it on or off, and your battery will drain very rapidly.
I'm going to call HTC and give them my opinion on this situation, and see if they have any solutions (apart from buying a new phone.
This is a used E-Bay purchased phone. From day one, full functionality, including WIFI and Bluetooth. Battery lasted up to 3 days on standby.
Now, no Wifi, battery lasts (960Mah) 5-7 hours (standby) less with talking.
Hope this clarifies some of the concern on the battery and wifi loss issues. As soon as I have a solution, I will post back.
Cheers gents!
(Sorry mods for this being NOT in the Excalibur forum, just thought it might be relevant even for a different model seeing as the hardware/software is very similar)
PS. Wifi is once again functional (Day after) for reasons unknown!
Battery is charging, and is actually back to factory specs on battery life.

hi all a quick question for you all
i have just smashed the screen on my qtek 2020i and am looking for a new phone
i really like the 2020 for what it did but really wanted windows mobile 5/6 for it and it also annoyed me that it didnt have a speaker for phone calls
what would be a good upgrade for under £100
i used the phone for web, tom tom, basic games like war inc etc
any ideas on this other than wifi and blutooth and the ability to last longer than 2 hrs under use would be my min
