I need some help. I need some help with rooting and upgrading to Froyo on my girlfriend's LG C710h. There isn't a specific section of the forum for this phone so I thought I would post here. I was also hoping some one could help me with doing some data2ext on this phone as well. The internal storage this phone has is just weak and I was hoping I could fix that. None of these guides have to be for noobs as I have a rooted and hacked Desire. Thanks for your help
Scratch needing help rooting, I was able to successfully root the phone using z4root. But if someone could help me with Froyo and data2ext that would be great.

Hi there, having some troubles updating this phone -- says will not connect / sync to PC suite. It's my friend's phone and she's looked though all through the settings and can't find any way to change it, and with all my internet searching, neither can I (we're not together at the moment, she just called me and asked for help)
Can you help us out? How do we change this setting? Rookie question, I know

I am a newb to the android os, and I am wanting to root my phone. I would like to run custom ROMS, and update to the froyo version of Android. I found simple root, and tried it but the root failed in the flash hack step. Any ideas, I am really excited to learn, but have virtually no experience with programming so I am learning this all from scratch...
Rooted phone, now 4G will not connect...shiet
Help... I have just rooted my EVO. Used simple root, didn't work the first time--tried again and was successful. Now I cannot connect to 4G network. I never had any problems connecting before. Anybody else have this problem after rooting their phone.

Hi everyone. I went thru quite some posts but am still unsure because of the many different devices & models (I'm not sure if mine will work or not and I'm scared that I will brick it).
I hope someone can give more general advises like:
1. How do I know if I can root my device or not (be it 2.1 or 2.2 and etc...)?
(eg. a tool/app that we can download and run to get detail version/system info?)
2. How do I know if my device can be upgraded to 2.2 or not?

All I know is its 2.1. I would like to root it (so I can safely back it up b4 playing around with it) and to install apps in the SD card. Help?

Hey everyone, let me first say that if this isn't in the correct area of the forum, my sincere apologies. Now onto the main question. So, awhile back I rooted my Samsung Replenish because a good friend of mine recommended that I do so. I really enjoyed it at first, but now I'm starting to have the worry of possibly getting caught by my provider. That, or I have to take the phone in for maintenance and they deny me service because it's rooted. So, my basic question really is how do I unroot root my Replenish? I spoke to someone and they told me to flash it back to the stock ROM. But I have no idea how to do that. Thank so much guys, I really appreciate it.
Just flashing back to stock does not actually unroot it. You should probably check under the forum created for your phone for a quide in how to unroot it.
I can't seem to find the thread for the Samsung Replenish.
I'm not sure what it should be but you might need to use a codename of some sort for the thread. If there indeed is no threat there should be a post somewhere around the forums which tells a rooting method also works for your phone. It's not unlikely your phone shares a bootloader with another samsung phone
I'm an extreme noob when it comes to this sort of thing, so if someone could please help guide me through this, it'd be very appreciated. My phone is acting up so I have to take it in. So the sooner it's unrooted, the better.
ok so a friend of mine asked me if i can root his motorola titanium.
ive searched around xda/google. no luck in finding guides to help me with this device. dont know if its even rootable yet.
if anybody who has the same device and has successfully rooted it, or if anybody can send me on my way towards the light, i would greatly appreciate it.
Hey guys, I'm finally fed up with my lg p506 thrive:
I am running the Android 2.2.2 system. My kernal version is 2.6.32.9
Is it possible to so called 'root' this phone in order to make it perform faster. I am always getting the low space warnings and barely have any apps on it. I know this isn't the most state of the art phone at all, but if their's anything you guys could recommend besides moving apps to my SD card I would really appreciate it!
I'm a newbie at any sort of rooting so if you guys could assist me it'd be great. From my research here, people say to install Gingerbreak 1.2 APK. My main question being, where do I "install' this file when I have my phone connected via USB?
