Help for FC loop - Milestone XT720 General

Hi all,
Still using stock 2.1.
I tried to install the new JIT this morning, along with moving some of the apps in /data/app into /system/app to save space.
I also clear davlik cache before rebooting.
When I root, I also set to unroot at reboot. (dumb move, I know...)
Now, my phone force closes at boot up with zeam (my default launcher). I also see "Auto Memory manager (process com.lim.android.automemman) force close.
I don't have root access, but I do have adb access sometimes. I want to uninstall zeam, but for some reason, I don't even have access to /data/app. I get
"opendir failed, Permission denied"
I can do "ls" for /system/app, but not /data/app. I am hoping I don't have to wipe/reflash, but if I have to, what rom should I use for Wind Mobile in Canada?
Thanks in advance.

[Q]Galaxy Tab 10.1 problem

I purchased my tab in China. Samsung China has deleted all Google apps from the pre-installed rom. As a result, the Chinese GT 10.1 community has compiled an Google app pack (GoogleServeice_P7510.zip) to bring back those apps.
I flashed it immediately after I rooted the tab. The Google apps were installed successfully. I entered my google account after the boot and every google app was running without a glitch. But not long after that I found I could no longer enter browser settings anymore. It would always give me a FC when I tried to do so. I then downloaded the dolphin browser. So this problem was bypassed.
Then I found there was something wrong with the superuser, I could not adb remount/push, and it couldn't be revoked by the apps that required root access.
This problem was partially resolved later by flashing the OC kernel for GT 10.1, which secured adb privileges. But the superuser was still problematic. Then I found out that after I flashed any zip other than root.zip in recovery, be it the kernel.zip, the su_busybox_tools.zip or google_servicepack.zip, the superuser icon in the app drawer would always become 4 times smaller (2 time in both height and length) than the superuser app "installed" by root.zip, as well all other apps.
There seemed to be something wrong with this version of superuser app (small icon). Whenever I opened an app that required root access, the superuser prompt window would not pop out. But if I flashed the root.zip again, the big-icon superuser app would be back. And other apps can revoke it most of time. However, it was not perfectly stable. Somethimes, it still failed to be revoked. I have flashed the root.zip among the other 3 zips for many times to get this conclusion.
I then applied the V6 SuperCharger script and flashed the su_busybox tools for GT 10.1 right before that, because SuperCharger script required busybox. However, due to the superuser problem, the SuperCharger script was not fully working. After reboot, part of the settings was changed back to default, because 99supercharger.sh couldn't be run on boot with root and there's not init.d folder in GT Tab 10.1. Then I flashed the OC kernel hoping it will fix all the problems. After that, I surprisingly found out that I was able adb remount and push. But the icon of the superuser app was again back to the small one. So the apps requiring root could not revoke it for permission.
As a result, I flashed the root.zip again. At this moment, superuser works normally, even after some reboots. SetCPU and script manager are able to automatically acquired root access on boot. But when I rechecked the supercharger script, current pages(minfree) were still showing blank.
Other problems include backspace and enter keys not working in terminal emulator/console. And the problem I just found - the notification ringtone list in the system settings and other app (e.g. Gmail) settings was blank. I could not change ringtone, although the system can play it without problem. And the ogg files are still there in /system/media/notifications.
Since all Android devices works more or less the same. I hope some of you phone experts can shed some light on these problem. The user base of Android tabs has made it less supported than Android phones. It'll be highly appreciated if all these annoying problems get fixed.
Thank you!

Does anyone know how to fix SU 3.05 force closes

Hi everyone,
My problem began last week when I updated from the Market the latest version of SU. I tried several suggestions from other people as far as uninstalling the update that worked, but still had force close from SU. Did not know how to uninstall the biraries associated with this app. Luckily for me I had a backup of my system fromJuly of this year and had to resort to using that in order to fix all the force closes generated by SU 3.05. After restoring backup using ROM Manager from that date to the older, but more stable SU (2.3) I think, I had to d/l all updates again fro my apps (time consuming). I went to the Market and unchecked (allow autmatic updating) for SU, needless to say it updated regardless. Also, since it went ahead and updated on it's own and a message was in my notication bar saying (SU binaries out of date) I manually updated them also. Force close city... I did not have this with SU 2.3, but now, nothing but. ROM Manager, Root Explorer, ShootMe etc... I went to settings/applications/manage applications/all/and selected SU and clicked on the command button to remove all updates for this app, rebooted, went back to the same path and clicked on clear cache, rebooted again only to maintain the same problem with force closes. Note I was going to create a current backup of my system today but SU updated before I got that change. Does or is anyone else having the same problem with the new SU and if so, how did you fix it... How do you remove the SU binaries? Any help resolving this issue would greatly be appreciated... Thanks in advance~

I am having the same problems with the SU updates; causing me problems with other apps, such as SetCPU and Busybox.
I had to flash to an older recovery and everything works fine, until updates are requested.
I dont know what else to do other then flashing back to a previous recovery.

Clear app data, uninstall, install 3.0.2 from link above ( or anywhere else you want to download it from)
Worked like a charm for me.
Auto updating for SU
After restoring to a previous date prior to the SU market update. I manually updated all of my apps for the exception of SU. I'd say about 30 or so minutes of d/ling and installing. I did the manual install specific to NOT installing SU and UNCHECKED the "Allow Automatic Update" for this app, rebooted and went back to the Market and double checked that the auto update for this was unchecked, still during the night it updated away? I just finished running ROM Manager "Fix Permissions" rebooted and still have the same problem. I can always go back and do a system restore /w RM and update all of my apps, but even with the auto update unchecked, it will re-install the update. Also, tried SU Update Fixer, no good. Says "No problems detected"... Beats me?
Thanks Namtaru... I installed the 3.02 apk file and so far no problems. Do you know how to stop this file from updating to the 3.05 version? I had "allow automatic updating" at the markert unchecked earlier, but someway, it updated anyhow...
I had the same problem. I uninstalled, installed fixed permissions in recovery and finally I cleared data on everything that used su including su that seemed to fix it I hope hadn't fc since

Sorry for the confusion. I am still using the 3.0.5 version. The clearing of the data on everything that uses su including su is what did the trick for me
Thanks for the reply donaldanttila... Right now I am good using 3.02... I'll definitely keep this in mind should I need to update to 3.05 or it updates for me...
It is clear data not cache. You are welcome
Yup, that's right, l8r...

[Q] How To Uninstall Apps In System (priv-app)?

The title explains it all. I'm trying to get rid of all the bloatware and other system apps I don't need on my Droid Mini (4.4 19.5.3, rooted, w/p off, BL locked) and some apps (specifically the Amazon appstore) I can't get rid of no matter what I do (it seems to be the apps in the /system/priv-app directory). I use Titanium Backup (I have the pro version), and it acts like it uninstalled it but it's still there. I use Clean Master and try to uninstall it but it fails. I use ES File Explorer (I have /system r/w mounted) and try to delete it and it says device or resource busy. Also get the device or resource busy error if I try to remove it via ADB. So I'm at a loss here.
Try to use system cleanup app from the playstore.
That app can see whats installes in priv-app.
w/p on/off isn't something i quite understand as i have only used bl unlocked maxx/mini, but what I personally do is install Root Browser, navigate to system/priv-app and rename the offending applications to app.apk.bak (example: Amazon.apk becomes Amazon.apk.bak) This way, if an update comes along I can erase the .bak and have the stock crap back. If you can't do this with your setup, i apologize, i just thought it might help, as I hate having to install an app just to do one function, and Root Browser is a great app for many things like this, not just one function.

[Q] Root / SuperSU issues, only mostly rooted?

I'm having some random issues with root on my phone... For the most part, my phone seems rooted. I can access most files and folders, removed bloatware system apps, and LuckyPatcher and other root-only apps seem to work well.
My problem is that some apps don't! GameCHI gives me the message "ERROR!!! The system deny to ROOT" for some reason. I've also noticed ES File Explorer will not allow me to paste files in, or remove files from the SYSTEM folder, returning a message that it is read only. Even in recovery mode, it will not let me mess with my system folder, like changing my boot animation, which I used to be able to do. I'm using all updated apps, just updated my SuperSU to 2.14. I enabled root on ES File Explorer and checked all options but system keeps disabling itself. Sometimes I manage to paste something in, but then can never remove it!
Help?
anybody?

[Resolved] Operation Failed Permission Denied Root Browser Titanium Backup Hangs

I'm posting this so it might help others who may find themselves in the same situation. Assuming you have root access, the system is set to read/write permissions and you are using SuperSU yet you are still experiencing one or more of the following issues: Root Browser, Root Spy or another file manager will not let you move files or change permissions, particularly in the system or system/app directory and you are getting "Permission Denied", "Operation Failed" and other errors or Titanium Backup will not restore system apps and hangs at the beginning never starting or completing the restore process and other similarly mysterious permission issues with root.
The answer I discovered was to go into the settings in SuperSU and disable "Mount namespace separation" by unchecking the box and rebooting the device.
Hopefully someone finds this useful.
