[Q] Bootstrap Issues - Droid 2 Global General

I just got the Droid 2 Global and so far I've rooted it with z4root and I go to back it up with Droid 2 Bootstrapper and all go's well with the bootstrap recovery. I click it and it says "Success". But I go and click on Reboot Recovery and it doesn't do anything. Doesn't reboot at all and doesn't even seem like its trying to load anything. I can just sit there and press reboot recovery again and again and nothing happens.
Does anybody have an idea about what's going on or how I can fix it?

I believe you still have to flash clockwork recovery. Bootstrapper just bypasses the locked boot loader? I think... download clock work recovery and flash. Cheers.

It should reboot into recovery. No need to flash anything else. I would make sure you have root for sure or see if you can get a different version of bootstrap.

[Q] How to book into clockwork recovery?

Is there anyway i can boot into recovery using hardware buttons? I flashed a rom that wont start up and i need to get into clockwork to fix that.
I don't remember exactly but I believe it's Power+Volume Down
If not, it may be power+volume up
Another way is to download the Droid 2 Bootstrap application from Market. Inside the app hit 'reboot recovery' and you will boot into clockwork

[Q] Boot into recovery after brick

Look at EDIT #2!
Dear xda-developer,
My Dad got a brandnew Motorola Droid 2 and I should flash him a new Gingerbread Rom(CM7). But I briked his phone( )... so...
How can i get access to the Recovery Clockwork Mod after brik?
I tried to flash the CM7 to the Droid 2 but i forget to wipe it and to clear cache. After i installed the Custom Rom I reboot the phone, but after the Motorola Picture happen nothing. I tried different methods to get access to the Recovery Mod, but it doesen't work (holding the power Button and the X-Button, holding the power button and the volume down button or the arrow up button (but with this i get access to the bootloader))
Can I flash the Recovery with RSD-Lite? Maybe with step-by-step instruction? Pleeaaasee
Thanks a lot,
Johnny
EDIT: I try to flash another Custom Rom via RSD Lite... hope it works
EDIT #2: Battery Energy is low... and I can't recharge it (youtube.com/watch?v=3uVRZzRMkfg) ... don't know why(<-- NEED HELP!)
1. You can only flash SBF via RSDLite. You cannot flash custom ROMs like that.
2. You need to get some other battery, or charge your battery by some other means.
3. You cannot boot into ClockworkMod in this state.
Okay, now I can charge the battery with another Phone... but how can I access to Clockwork Mod?
Is a sbf-file to unroot a phone and make a recovery?
You cannot access ClockworkMod when the phone is bricked.
Flash an SBF, then root and install Droid 2 Recovery Bootstrap.
Ok, i tried this one:
mydroidworld.com/forums/droid-2-discussion/5323-tbh-mydroidworld-present-droid-2-2-3-20-triple-threat.html
but RSD always says that the flashing process failed...

Can you kindly inform us why are you using a Droid 2 SBF to flash a Droid 2 Global phone?
Ok, I found a sbf for milestone 2... but I realised that there is no Cyanogen Mod for Milestone 2... ony for the Droid 2. Is that right? So can I use this( download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=nightly&device=cdma_droid2) nightly builds wich are made for the Droid 2 on Milestone 2?
Thanks a lot!
AFAIR, the D2 port doesn't know about GSM.
Same problem on my Droid 2
I was attempting to flash a ROM on my Droid 2 via ROM Manager and forgot to wipe the cache & data...now when my Droid 2 reboots, I get a constant loop of the reboot screen with the Cyanogenmod 7 logo. I've tried going to recovery mode, via holding down the X on the keypad, then turning it on. It allowed me to clear my user data & wipe my cache, but when rebooting the system it still continues to reboot in a loop with Cyanogenmod 7, not taking me to the setup screen. I feel like I'm missing a few steps. Can someone help me with what I am doing wrong?
SBF, research (google is your textbook), and once you've researched enough research some more and then try again. Any time you feel like you've hit a brick wall SBF. Never use D2 or Milestone 2 roms with D2G. Same for the inverse. And use only a D2G SBF.

Installing CWR - Not working

Hi All,
I've looked all around for the answer to this and am thoroughly lost. I have the Verizon Galaxy S3 with VRALHE. I rooted it, then used EZ-Unlock 1.2 to unlock the phone, then installed Rom manager and flashed CWR. It says it installed 6.0.1.2 but when I try and go into recovery it only goes into Android Recovery. If I flash CWR and right away click the boot into CWR button it seems to go but after that it will only go into Android Recover both via Rom manager and holding Volume Up, Power and Home. Anyone know whats going on?
Thanks for your help!
If it does go into cwm the first time then after that stock there are two files you need to erase that basically reinstall the stock recovery on reboot. I can't recall them, but you could probably search here and find them. Or the easier way is busy flash a custom ROM n that first boot into cwm. By the way ez recovery is better for installing our recoveries, give it a shot.... It may sick without the extra stuff I just told you.

Anyone know where to look into about the files that need to be deleted? I'm not finding much. EZ recovery worked the first reboot but returned to Android recovery after a reboot.

I would recommend re-flashing Clockworkmod Recovery from EZ recovery, then using EZ recovery to boot into Clockworkmod Recovery, after your are in Clockworkmod Recovery select the "Reboot system" option, you should then be asked if you want to erase two files to make Clockworkmod Recovery stick permanently (At least until you flash a different recovery) select the "Yes" option, then after it has completed that task the phone should reboot, while it is rebooting boot into recovery and you should find that Clockworkmod Recovery is still installed.
I like to help, but Google stuff. This is what you would have found as the second result
/system/recovery-from-boot.p*
/system/etc/install-recovery.sh

So to confirm to everyone, Deleting the 2 files above does work! So delete the files then re-flash CWR and restart that's it!
I wanted to thank everyone for the help!
Same problem but a little different

I have the same problem sorta, my phone instead of going into CWR it goes into Android system Recovery, and it asks me for an update, I was trying to root my phone but it won't even let me go into recovery so I can root it. Do you know why it's asking me this? Also idk if this helps but the android dude is in the background with an open stomach and a triangle and an exclamation mark in it. Hope my details were helpful, thanks.

What rooting guide did you follow? Did you flash Clockworkmod Recovery yet? If you can provide me with this information I can try help you further. If you haven't flashed Clockworkmod Recovery yet then you will be presented with the normal stock Android recovery system that you described.

Ummm... You do not necessarily go into recovery to root it. Have you installed and used Odin through your PC? You say you are trying to root your phone, so before you get ahead of yourself trying to flash recoveries I recommend reading up a little bit, it is very important you follow directions specifically or you will brick your device....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2046439
There is even a video watch it while you root your phone, and pause along with it.
If you have already done some of this, and done any of it wrong there are steps to recover through Odin.

[Q] Custom Recovery Not Working On XT926

I have an unlocked bootloader, and I installed CWM recovery for the Photon q/asanti in the ROM Manager app. I want to install CM11, but when I try to go into recovery, the Motorola dual core screen comes up, and it never goes away unless I turn the phone off. What am I doing wrong? This is really frustrating because I'm so close lol
Get a recovery designed for the HD and flash that.

It is, and I can verify that it's installed too.
If you can't get into it, it's not installed.

Well then I guess the app I "installed" it with is wrong.
But I have a hard time believing that. I think something is preventing it from coming up, because I get stuck on the boot screen immediately after trying to open it. The boot screen shoudn't appear at all. I've also tried giving up and resetting my phone to factory, but it just reboots. I'm bummed because it is running slow and apps are stopping, and I need this phone.
That isn't my phone by the way, it's just a picture to show the screen it gets stuck on when I try to open the recovery.
Can you get into ap fastboot?

Neither CWM or TWRP are official for this phone, so you can't install them through their apps. The recovery you attempted to install is for a close relative of the HD, but it's not correct. Get a correct recovery out of the Dev section and flash with fastboot.

Would that be why it gets stuck on the boot screen when I try to open the recovery? The only reason I used it was because it's supposed to work with my phone and some others witht the same codename. Do you know any good tutorials on how to flash a recovery with fastboot? Because I can get into fastboot.
