I didn't try but I think it should work as these are the application files (.apk and .odex) that are working in my phone version I5801BVJP9. Just take care of permissions when you make modifications...

I'm pretty sure it's because it is odexed and a system file. You'd need to push both the apps odex and the apk to something like /system/app or wherever your system apps are being stored

im pretty sure its bad to push an odex file unless its for the rom you currently have .. bad things can happen ... just have to wait til someone de-odexes them (JF says that he's working on that)

Just thought I should let you know that there's a diner dash demo and the houdini app is actually telenav in the /system/app

Requesting S3 Alarm Clock APK

After rooting my S3, I got a little over zealous uninstalling all the bloatware. As such, I mistakenly deleted the alarm clock (ya know, the one that works with S Voice). Does anyone have the apk for the stock touchwiz alarm clock? The only downloads I can find are modded versions ported for other phones.
Thanks in advance.
You should be able to download a stock rom and search the zip. Normally they are located in the \system\app directory. Make sure you match permissions with other system apps.

I downloaded "BeansStockR3.1". Since I am a new member, I can't post a direct link, but it was the only google result when searching for exactly that. Also, I PMed you a link directly to the ClockPackage.apk.

Do you mind PM'ing me a direct link to the ClockPackage.apk?! =D
I typically put all these apk's in a box or dropbox account. Comes in handy for sharing with friends n stuff.
Here's a dropbox for 4.0.4 ClockPackage

Hi there, this is how i fixed my alarm problem
firstly download the clock apk relavent to your phone, i think that there are 3 different ones provided in this thread.
Secondly you need to download something from the play store called "Rom toolbox pro" its £3 but if you ask in the forums here someone can probably point you to a free one that does the same thing.
make sure your phone is rooted, install and run Rom toolbox pro. click on Root Browser, navigate to where you put the APK on your phone, copy and move it to root/system/app. Once you have moved the apk find it in the app folder, click and hold it for a couple of seconds. A menu should popup with options, click on "permissions" set them so they are like this. http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2pphiyo&s=6 If you are using a different app you will need to set your permissions accordingly, yet again im sure there is someone on here clever enough to help with that.
Now just restart your phone, the APK will run on boot.
These are the exact steps i followed and they worked for me. http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2h353dl&s=6
I hope you have the same luck
Steve

[MOD] Windy Weather Live Wallpaper w/ No Watermark

I liked the Windy Weather live wallpaper that came with the GSIII, but I didn't like the ever so noticeable watermark that is on it. I've also seen requests for versions without the watermark so, I took it out back and beat it senseless until it was gone. See the screenshots below for a preview. (I will add more screenshots later)
READ BEFORE INSTALLING
- I recommend making a back-up of the original WeatherWall.apk at /system/app BEFORE installing this.
- This only removes the AccuWeather watermark. The name of your current city will still be visible.
- This live wallpaper was pulled from a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III. Although it should, I have not tested if this will work on other versions of the Galaxy S III. I don't think it will work on other phones (because of screen size issues), but it may!
- You must have root in order to install this.
- Install at YOUR OWN risk. While highly unlikely, I take no responsibility if this damages your phone in any way.
Installation:
Manually:
1. Download the WeatherWall.apk provided and put it on your SD card
2. Open up your favorite file manager application on your phone that has system read and write capability. I prefer Root Explorer
3. Navigate to wherever you placed the downloaded .apk and move it to "system/app" overwriting the unmodified "WeatherWall.apk"
4. Restart your phone and enjoy!
NEW! Flashable: (Easier!)
1. Download the WindyWeather-NoWM.zip provided and put it on your SD card
2. Re/boot to recovery and flash the .zip file
3. Restart your phone and enjoy!
:good:
nice!
Thanks for this! Just waiting for the flashable version.

Hmmm... Also make sure when you're overwriting the old one that it sticks. You can do this by looking at the date last modified in your file manager. If it says anything but the current date and time then it did not overwrite it. If that's the case make sure your file manager has SU and root privileges and it is mounted in read and write mode. Once I get a flash working this should be much easier, but it does nothing but fail in TWRP when I try to flash the one I have put together.
ok thanks for working on it....but see thats the prob...there wasn't one there originally. maybe the rom i am on had it removed...but either way it should show up after moving it to that folder under live wallpapers right?
The key is to make sure that WeatherWall.apk is your /system/app directory. Normally you should be overwriting an old .apk. Like you said though maybe you're rom doesn't use it so may not work. As far as I know it 100% works with Touchwiz on ICS. Someone said it did work with an AOSP based rom, but I'm not sure if this was ICS or JB.

Unfortunately, I believe that the city name watermark is coded into the live wallpaper, so unless I had the non compiled version I can't do anything to remove it.
I am a lil apprehensive having to ask someone this bc it is a lil embarrassing but I went to system/app and was going to backup the windy weather app but it isn't in there....?? Help? Thank u

This is sick. It worked flawlessly on my Tmobile S3.
Would removing the city watermark also be possible?

full control of multiscreen apps?

i bought a note 2 few days ago, and flashed omega's rom. i was extremely excited to found this thing:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1953705
we can enable any apps for multiscreen viewing with this awesome app
do we have chance to port this thing to our note 10.1?
sorry for my bad english
I don't exactly remember on what thread I found this, but if you have jellybean (4.1) on your note 10.1, then you can download and install the apks there have here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/misc.php?do=showattachments&t=1985240 to make them compatible with multiview.
They recommend backing up the version of the app you have now using Titanium backup, then uninstalling it, and then installing the apk from the link.
yup i saw that post earlier, but with this noobs like me only can install apps that have been "edited"(i dont know what that call) by them.
but with the note 2 thing, we can create ourselves easily

I found the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1985240
They explain how to make your own applications work with multiview, it's not too difficult.
I agree that easier is better, but if you really want/need an app to work with multiview, it might be worth giving their method a try .
I hope I can figure it out. Thanks

No problem, and good luck!
I just found another useful thread on this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1998133
They made an exe file in which you can point to an apk file or even a folder with apk files, and then the program slowly but steadily does everything for you! I'm trying it out right now on a folder with 15 apks. Just have to wait now and see how it does !
