[ROM][FEB 03] Raidroid Stockify Series - Rooted/Debranded Stock Roms - Desire HD Android Development

Info
These ROMs are simply debranded and rooted stock roms including an unsecure boot.img and su added aswell as operator branding removed. Aswell as this there are 2 download options, the first is the ROM, this is fully odexed and includes everything to get started, the 2nd download is a deodex update which will deodex the rom removing all the odex files and replacing odexed apps with unodexed replacements, each rom has its own matching deodex update containing the deodexed apps for that rom.

May I ask you to make a rooted stock 1.32.405.6? Many people who did not do ENG S-OFF before they installed a ROM have to get stock ROM to be able to do the ENG S-OFF. Normally they have to install a RUU, but if you make a CWM installable stock 1.32 ROM, they do not have to do that anymore

Screenshots?

The "get s-off" issue doesn't relate to 1.72 base custom roms, its hboot related hence the need for the ruu

It is actually radio related in stock 1.72 ROM. But I am talking about custom roms, see this scenario:
- A guy has a phone, possibly downgrades it.
- He gets Radio S-OFF, and installs your rom. Then he wants ENG S-OFF.
- You use a custom kernel, which does not support power cycling eMMC (kernel module does not load) in order to write a new hboot with dd
- ENG S-OFF fails, he realizes that he has to get stock rom
- He comes here, and just installs stock rom using recovery
- ENG S-OFF works

Wasn't aware of the power cycling issue, il look further into that one, bit strange as mine and other kernels are based on 1.32 source
Sent from my LeeDrOiD loaded HTC Desire HD using my thumb....

Yeah, and the weird thing is that some kernels by Apache work and some just don't. For example the 1.0.7 works fine, but the newest one does not. (with wpthis module)
It is really not a huge problem, if Raider makes 1.32.405.6 cwm ROM.

im downloading stock 1.32.405.6 and 1.72.405.3 RUU to make into CWM zip, other roms to follow including the new ARA rom

Thx - this will help stock ROM lovers to use their favorite mods like power notification bar on a 99% stock ROM.

OK, no problem. Put hboot_eng.nb0 (and dd) to /sdcard then type in terminal emulator:
$ su
# dd if=/sdcard/hboot_eng.nb0 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18

Custom rom is rooted. DHD is Radio S-OFF. You doesn't need to power cycle eMMC. You can flash anything exept radio.
- ENG S-OFF fails, he realizes that he has to get stock rom
PS. [ROM] FULLY ROOTED WWE 1.72.405.3 No Radio No HBoot [V2 03/01/2011]

I know, but most users need a GUI to do that. I know that dd works, but it is not very user friendly. I might add a tickbox to my ENG S-OFF tool so that people can tell the app that they have Radio S-OFF already..
But still for good compatibility, the kernel should be able to power cycle eMMC.

For people who treat 1.32 as intermediate step, CWM package with eng-hboot may be much simpler than root-ed 1.32.

Well, cwm cannot write a hboot..

dd inside CWM package can... But I understood the main problem in this way is error handling/reporting. Big red message: ERROR!!! Retry? YES/Definitely YES will be much better than small text in bottom of screen in CWM

If this is a stock rom modded, can I flash it over my stock rooted rom??? (I removed some bundled apps)

rom 1.83 is android 2.2.1? are you sure about this? many people who had it said it's android 2.2 :S

1.83 corrected in op, it is 2.2

So, please light me up!
If i had ENG-S OFF and RADIO S-OFF and CWM 3.0.0.5, and i flash this rom with cwm and i lose the ENG S-OFF? Or brick my phone? Or this is a safe rom?

- adb enabled through boot process
- Superuser.apk
Requires HTC 6.35.07.29 or higher radio and 1.76.2007 SPL.
I offer limited support on this ROM image because all I did was a simple R&R (root and repack).
This ROM offers only language support for the countries that it was meant to be distributed to by HTC. This means no Chinese, Viatnamese, US English (it has other English settings).
Enjoy!

One again, I got trouble of update this zip file (keep the same name of file and change to update.zip file)
After chose the flash zip file option, my HTC reset immediately and get stuck at boot screen. After that the Recovery mode reset after few seconds everytime I access.
I tried to re flash the recovery img but still the same.
Note: I used the recovery to flash other zip file like Amon 1.6.3 Donut and Hero of AHMGSK. It updated well.
you need the HERO recovery!!! Read people READ! Its in the first post of the upgrade thread!

One more request!
NICE WORK! This is the best ROM I ever used. The only thing we need to be done here is busybox. Can You do this for us? (preferably by update withour wipe) PLEASE! PLEASE!
(edit) In fact there is busybox. I though it is not because after using Market Enabler I wasn['t able to see "PapaStacker" paid app. But there are some of paid apps and some not. And the same is with newest CursorSense. (which in fact is slower then stock ROM so I['m reverting to stock).
So far the best rom for 32A. I am using it from yesterday, and didn't see any bugs. Everything works extremely fast and stable. I forgot what force close is .
Thank You Cursordroid.
Cursordroid, add busybox please. Thx fot yor great roms.

HBOOT compatibility

Hello!
I am pretty new in the Android Custom ROM area so that's why I need some help with informations.
I am the proud owner of a Desire S, that I have installed a custom rom (Virtuous something) some time ago. Not me, a friend. Now I want to try some new roms that have Sense 4. But i have a problem, i don't know if a rom is compatible with my HBOOT (which is 2.00.0002). I would like to install SenseMOD FlashOne but i can't see anything regarding my HBOOT.
So firstly, is it compatible?
And secondly, what would happen if the HBOOT is not compatible and I would flash the ROM? Will it turn into a HTC Brick?
And if it's not compatible, what ROM would you recomand that has Sense 4 and working WiFi, camera, etc ?
Virtuous something http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1590718 is a full sence 4.0 ROM

If you're phone is s-off and you have a custom recovery installed (4ext, Cwm or similar) all you have to do to install a new rom is,
1. put the rom (zip file) on the sd card
2. boot into recovery
3. backup your current Rom
4. do a full wipe (format all except sd card if you're using 4ext), sometimes it works just wiping cache and dalvik cache, if updating from an earlier version of the same rom (read the op)
5. Flash rom
Edit: flash gapps, if not included in Rom (most cm/aosp based roms)
6. Reboot

Sometimes developers says when it needs to upgrade hboot in description, so if you keep watching on updates, it's hard to miss it) and as a secret of a succes to upgrade everything) but sometimes its hard, for example, BND can fix smth every day, and it's really annoying)

Need info on new Hboot for Android 4.0+ ROMs - I forgot and am lost!

Hello everyone
I rooted my girlfriend's Desire S, flashed 4EXT recovery and she used MIUI for about half a year. Then, a new Hboot came out, and it was required for Android 4.0+ ROMs to boot. She was tired of being stuck on MIUI GB, and MIUI ICS required the new hboot to run, so I flashed it.
Then, a few weeks after, we had to take the phone into service for some faulty hardware components (speaker & buttons issues) so I reverted everything to stock Android 2.3.3 (or 2.3.5), including the old, S-ON bootloader and stock recovery.
Now... I need to start again, since this Android 2.3.3 / 2.3.5 she has on her phone is acting up like hell. I want to flash a ROM that is Android 4.1 with Sense, or CM10.1... I don't know. Anyway, thing is I probably am going to need to flash the new hboot. I FORGOT how I did it back then, and I can't seem to find the tutorial again
So... I need your assistance. I did search the forums, but I think I failed miserably. The info is definetly out there. Call me a retard...
I probably need to S-OFF the current bootloader, then flash the new hboot & S-OFF that one, in order to be able to flash a recovery and custom ROM finally. Can you help me, please?
Thanks in advance!
Most roms don't need any newer hboot version; miui v4, ice cream saga and desire xs are the only ones I can think of that do.
There are no roms for desire s with jelly bean and sense, but if you go for cm (any version) it will work on any hboot.

Ah, I see.
I will probably end up flashing something like MIUIv4, if you say it doesn't require the new hboot. Or CM / SlimBean. Sense is probably gonna be slow.

Can you direct me to a topic where this new hboot + installation process is described? Please.
Sent from hyperspace
First, you need to s-off the phone, see guides in the general section for how to downgrade hboot, then use revolutionary.
After that, you can install the new hboot from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679338
The phone will then stay s-off and be compatible with any rom.
Once on a S-OFF device you can flash to any hboot version by using dd (via adb). The relevant block is mmcblk0p18. I'd suggest flashing the ENG version 2.00.2002, rather than the revolutionary ones.
Remember to mount SD card
Code:
adb shell dd if=/sdcard/[COLOR="Red"]hboot.img[/COLOR] of=/dev/block/[COLOR="Red"]mmcblk0p18[/COLOR]
Code:

ZIP
MD5: 97eec9733c35e3a9666fb403470c95cd
download (extract for the img file, then put in root of SD card, make sure SD card is mounted for ADB)
After flashing you should re-format all before proceeding further.

Don't mix it with official updates from HTC!
A (custom) rom is made not by HTC, this you can use.
A update by HTC don't have a rom.zip inside.
A RUU has a rom inside, but this is cid related.
So better clarify, what you are searching or what you want to do!

Your phone must have android running, then you can try rumrunner.us
Facepalm or moonshine are for previous software versions.
But as it seems, the side is down at the moment.

Hi,
I used rumrunner.us and now my device is S-OFF. Therefore I must be able to flash other roms after changing my cid and hboot version. Is it right ?
And another question is,
I've flashed Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip and superuser.apk has been installed but those programs that want to get root access, can't do this like Root Explorer, and in RootValidator as you can see in the picture below, shows "Root was denied to this app!", and from ADB I can to get root access, but why programs don't have any root access ?
Thanks.

Depends on, if we are talking about official HTC roms/updates or custom roms. For custom roms you usually don't need to change CID.

You should use SuperSu, because i'm not sure that Superuser is still in development (especially for newer Android versions).
Grab the zip file here and flash in recovery (should also remove Superuser you have already flashed).

Thank you again, my device was rooted completely and now programs have root access.

[Q] Sensation Bootscreen hang on -any- 4.4 Rom

Got a wierd problem...
Actually Carbon 4.3 Rom installed - works so far
I'm also not a newbie and also linux user
All kind of geeky-stuff already done jailbreaked iPad2/ATV2
or custom Roms on GalaxyTab2, Nexus, HTC Desire, HTC Sensation
But if i try to update ANY rom based on 4.4 the Sensation hangs in bootsplash after flashing.
Did everthing usual, wipe/format partitions/clean caches even repartioning sdcard.
Googling hours after this problem in english/german forums but nothing useful.
Clockwork/TWRP/4EXT Recovery tried - actually 4EXT is installed and my favorite
Could it be a problem with HBoot 1.27 ENG S-OFF?
I had to install these former to change the bootsplash picture - with any newer it didn't work.

hmm,
if you failed with the latest version of 4ext
then redownload the rom
check md5 sums and flash it
As i wrote in first post:
This happens with ANY 4.4 ROM
Up to 4.3 ROM all fine with any recovery

i told him that too
but he said he has problem only with 4.4 roms
with 4.3 everything is fine
Only other cause I could think of is the radio/firmware. Do you have Firmware 3.33? See if it'll help.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21711154#post21711154

i don't think so otherwise he would have also problem with 4.3 roms but he hasn't
besides that he has mentioned that he has 1.27 hboot version
Yes, as i said:
latest 4ext 1.0.0.6 RC2 & hboot 1.27 ENG S-Off
4.3 Roms working, only any 4.4 ROM stuck after flashing rom and/or gapps in splash screen
so perhaps thats the problem with 1.27 ENG
(had to downgrade to this for changing splash)

Then updated Firmware to 3.33 HBoot 1.27
Now Bootloader is 1.27 Ship S-Off
Did format of all Partitions excl. SDCard, wipe Dalvic/Cache babla
Flashed again latest Carbon Final 4.4.4 - same **** again: freeze in Splashscreen
