First time of booting into a new ROM i usually have to open the market app before any sync occurs. There has been an ongoing problem with the market for the last day so it's probably just that. Wait for Google to resolve the issue before doing anything drastic to your phone!

[Q] [Help] How can I reinstall the Market?

Hello.
Two weeks ago I was using CyanogenMOD 6.1 on my G1. I saw the .apk of the new Market Update and tryed to install it. I make a mess and loss my Android Market.
Tonight I upgraded to this ROM. After installing the ROM I didn't login with my Google account to test the ROM and the Market was there.
But after adding my Google Account and the phone finish the sync my Market was gone
What do you think that happened? And how can I solve this?
Thanks in advance.
This is not the section for a general question like that, please keep that in mind before you post.
If you want to get the market back, either install the new market APK or flash google apps again.
Reflashing the gapps solved it. Thanks

[SOLVED] [Q] Cyanogenmod 7 Magpie for g1/Dream

Hi
I just installed Cyanogenmod 7 Magpie for g1/Dream.
But gapps are not here, and I tried a few version and it doesn't work.
Can someone point me to the right version of gapps?
thanks
What do you need specifically?
If you need GMail, GTalk, GMap, you can download that from the market. That is what I did.
I've had the same problem, just install magpie then install google apps. restart. then you will see you don't have them so you restart again and you should at least see books in your list.
Well, this is what I did
EzGb Gapps are working with cm7 magpie. Install the latest one (top of the last quote)

ok thanks I got the file and flashed it...then I can log in to my google account and download the gapps...but it just stopped in the middle of the downloading process, I see the desktop, empty, and can do nothing .
Is there a different .zip for EB1 (french Dream)?
There are two .zip for installing CM 7 Magpie in french, should I install the one whose name contains "obex"...I don't know what is obex?
thanks
It's odex, not obex, but no, you don't need that. You need the latest version of the rom: update-cm-7-20110727-Magpie-DS-signed.zip plus gapps from terry's thread, don't worry it contains french.
I assume that you assume FR means french but no, it means Firerat, so you installed a very old version of the rom.
Btw about the market install/download fails
Buuggggss
I expect there are more than listed here
Sometimes a market install fails complaing about space
usually a second attempt works
the pm command can start a soft reboot if the file argument you give it doesn't exist
It was broken before I started messing with it, I should fix it but keep forgetting

Yes indeed I assumed FR meant French!
Ok but when I tried to install the the more recent .zip, I had the android.phone app crashing constantly, making the phone unusable.
edit: I reflashed the rom, and the gapps at the same time, it seems to work fine now.
thanks to you all
Wipe properly, from fastboot! If you use ext, than format it. Everything should be okay.
I'm running it right now, since it's released. I didn't have a single problem with it, it's a lil slow compared to fbl, but it's working ok.
I didn't know it was better to wipe from fastboot.
I wiped from recovery, I flashed the rom and gapps immediately. Then I booted to rom, and it is ok.
Cyanogenmod 7 magpie seems to work fine, but, indeed, a little slower than froyobylaszlo. How froyobylaszlo was getting unusable for me because of the "damaged sd card" error, and made me loose a lot of data (and was not in french).
Thanks to you all for your help.

Maps and android.process.media crashing after update

I have a Xoom 4g and have been installing the Stingray nightlies from teameos for some time and they are generally awesome. Somewhere along the line I developed 2 problems. Initially I began getting a dialog box process.android.media had crashed. After some searching I ran across a suggestion to clear the cache in media storage which does seem to stop it until I install another rom when it recurs.
Recently I have been getting a dialog box that maps has stopped. I can uninstall and reinstall maps and this fixes the problem again until I install a new rom and it recurs
I would appreciate any thoughts on resolving these issues (I still wouldn't go back to honeycomb though)

Clear data on "media storage" in all apps then restart.

Hi, I run the Nightly's as well and have no issues. Let me clarify, I flash the Nightly along with a different version of GAPPS, other than the set supplied by the DEV. I flash the Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0.4) Universal Package 4.0.4 GAPPS from a different source. This version works better for me because does not include Maps, YouTube, etc... as I do not use those applications; however you can download those APPs from the Play Store if you need or want them. There are a couple of cool apps that come with it like News,5 day Weather. Give it a try and see if this fixes you issue. This is the latest version, and a link for the change log for your reference.

As I mentioned above. The problem is with "media storage" app.
Clear data in app settings or wipe data in titanium backup then Reboot and you should be fine.
If you don't wipe data/factory reset after updating the nightly that media error pops up and screws up your apps. Not just your Gapps.
This is a common problem and that is the fix. This solution is mentioned multiple times in the forums. It's not a new thing and the xoom is not the only device affected by this.
Enjoy.

[Q] [SOLVED] com.google.process.gapps stopped working

System Specs:
TF101
Android Version: 4.1.1 (now 4.1.2)
Kernel Version: 2.6.39.4 CyanogenMod RaymanFX DHD (now 2.6.39.4ASUS [email protected] #1 Sat Oct 13 19:34:10 CEST 2012)
CyanogenMod Version 10-20120916-UNOFFICIAL-tf101 (now 10-20121013-UNOFFICIAL-tf101)
Problem
com.google.process.gapps stops working
What I have done so far:
Cleared cache
Cleared davlik cache
Removed Gmail account and re-added
Disabled ALL sync options
What I did to get here:
Installed TWRP (replaced Clockwork Recovery)
Installed CM10
Installed GooManager (for gapps)
Restored ALL apps I had/wanted back from the Play store
This problem occured immediately after I finished installing all apps. I dont know what one app might have caused this. I am trying to avoid a factory reset, but it seems this may not be avoidable at this current step. My question is, what else is there I can do short of a factory reset?
EDIT 1: just found out the GAPPS i am using is for 4.1.2. Would this cause the issue since i am on Android 4.1.1?
EDIT 2: Re-flashed the GAPPS from GooManager and it seems to be working better. I will update after testing it throughout my 24 hour duty.
EDIT 3: I let it go to "sleep" and when i woke it up, the process failed again.
EDIT 4: Used another version of GAPPS for Tegra. Now trebuchet crashes after going to sleep. Seems the GAPPS is the cause of the problem. Is there a stable version for my device and CM10? The latest crashes the com.process.google.gapps and the later crashes trebuchet
.
EDIT 5: After a night of troubleshooting, I found out i was using version B3 instead of V6 of CM10. Thus the Android version of 4.1.1 instead of 4.1.2. I just flashed V6 to my tablet and now I am testing the device for compatibility with the first version of GAPPS that i had installed earlier. I will post results after my tests.
EDIT 6: So far so good, everything seems to be running normally. I have not had any problems for the last five hours. I hope this fixed my problem
EDIT 7: So after waking up to my tablet sleeping, i woke it and the process failed again. Is there a compadible GAPPS zip out there somewhere?
EDIT 8: Ok, so I decided to do a factory wipe, install CM10 V6 fresh. Then install google apps filename "gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip" Seems that the google apps keeps failing. I even unchecked all the sync options and didn't put my account in until after i installed the google apps. At this time there are NO apps installed other than the default CM and GAPPS. I am officially stumped. HELP PLEASE!
EDIT 9: I did a factory wipe, no re-install of CM10 or GAPPS, just a standard wipe followed by clearing both caches. Upon reboot it wanted my credentials for google. Seems to be working ok, meaning it GAPPS is not crashing at this current moment. However, it has dropped WiFi on me while it went to sleep and came back. I told it to not turn WiFi off when it sleeps, but alas, it seems to be broken. Also, it lockes up randomly, and the only way to recover is to hold the power button to turn it off and then reboot. Thoughts?
EDIT 10: Changed to the nightlys from CM and updated to the most recent GAPPS. Everything is working great. Minus some of the things that have already been mentioned. My lock screen disappears ever so often. Also, I have noticed that when not charging, the tablet will shut down at 49% when sleeping. I don't know if that is a feature of the CM10, but it is annoying. I have yet to have any random lock ups, but some of my apps won't work anymore. I have noticed that some apps will work one moment, the next it will have a video failure, but the sound will continue and the process will continue. Just the video display will be stuck on one image. For example, Jetpack Joyride does this. Also, Song Pop Free will not work, among some other apps. So, I guess I have to wait for a Jelly Bean update for some of these apps.
I've had a similar issue with gapps, usual provoked by accessing gmail or maps however I did have the same issue with the stock rom.

I appreciate the info, was this with ICS or Jelly Bean? I am assuming with your stock you mean ICS. Am I missing something about GAPPS? Is there a better compatible build for this?
.. just go to the settings and then click on the application manager and then click on all and then scroll to download manager and enable it if it is disabled. .......Thanks. ....

Here is a similar thread: Google Play not detecing installed apps and not-updated apps.
Maybe thi scan help in your case too.
If not, you may try different version of Gapps, such as this for KK ([GAPPS][4.4.x] OFFICIAL Up-to-Date PA-GOOGLE APPS (All ROM's) [2015-01-17]), or this for LP ([GAPPS][5.0.x][BETA] OFFICIAL Up-to-Date PA-GOOGLE APPS (All ROM's) [2015-01-16]).
They should work for CM too.
Good luck !
