Just found a new app today; Qloud video. Got it up and streaming video from my desktop PC, looks like a good alternative similar to AirVideo for iOS.
Video comes through great; can't get it to play sound though. Tried multiple filetypes and two seperate phones.
Anyone else wanna give it a shot and see if they get sound? Wondering if its just my phone?
I have nexus one and dell streak, both seems to work just fine. I do notice the volume is a bit low for some video, have you turn the volume to maximum?
Yeah Media Volume is up high and phone isn't on silent. Tried on my roommate's Galaxy S phone and still no dice, wondering if I'm missing something on the server side of the app....

Just installed this app on my G2. It's kind of lite on the instructions.
Is there a desktop extension? where did you download it?
*edit*
found the download site for the needed desktop app:

Apparently you need to have Itunes and Bonjour for this to work

Where do you get the idea? No, it does not require Bonjour to work, it will be easier if you have Bonjour installed, but it will work regardless of Bonjour.
The difference is when you are in LAN environment, Bonjour will let you see the server in server list automatically, otherwise you just need to enter the IP and port manually, it works just fine.
3g issues
I have this working great over my home network problem is I can't get it to connect over the internet on 3g or other wifi network. I have been waiting for something to replace air video, which I had on the iPhone, this is very promising if only it would work over 3g, will try to the developers as there is very limited help online

Just got the mail from dev, they said android 2.1 and 2.2 only support RTSP streaming, which means it never works too well over 3G.
For Android 2.3, however, they are using Http Live (the same protocol as iPhone streaming), that should work just as great as Air Video.
works awesome on latest cm7 daily, get sound and video, running at highest bitrate it allows, never even stutters, i cant thank you enough OP for "hipping me to this". Perfect framerates too. honestly, its like i copied it over to my phone
the error I'm getting is "remote server is unreachable" whenever I try to connect outside my network, anybody else having this issue?
UPDATE: Ok this is working over the internet if the computer running the server is not behind a router, have tried with two different routers, ports are open everything seems fine but connection cannot be made. Has anyopne gotten this to work with a computer behind a router? I am using a NETGEAR WGR614 also tried with an airport base station, with both of these the error comes up "remote server is unreachable", this from the phone. If you did get this working what router are you using and what is your setup?

Works on htc evo 2.3.3
This is what I've been waiting for and now it's purchased and installed. Runs flawlessly as long as you have Default Protocol enabled it does not work on RSTP

Yes me too. It was buffering at 0% for a while then an error message pops up. I'm using internet via activesync.
Will not allow me to sign up get site errors
Absolutely Fantastic!
Thank you for the heads-up. Great (low) quality here over EDGE in the West Midlands on O2's clapped out data network.
Nice backup for my Slingbox.
I wish I had this yesterday - Thank you.
Still no good for me.
HD2 with stock O2 rom. Opera 9.7.
O2 network HSDPA in London.
Click on LQ, opens coreplayer... then a blank screen.
I would love to get this to work....
Made a mistake replied to the wrong thread lol.
Works for me but I'm using Skyfire rather than Opera.
works a treat for me
Virgin media
stock rom
opera 10
Sign up to Tvcatch on my pc
i do have flashlite installed and the flash fix for opera 9.7 ( both i found didn't seem to do anything, but maybe they do now?!)
also, gonna be dim, TV -catch -up, is there any catch up on it? or just live tv...
thanks!!
Got it working with Opera 10 thanks : ) world cup at work : )
How exactly did you guys get this working? I go to the normal page and it says I need flash player (am using opera 10 which supports flash...no?), then I try the iphone link, click on the channel I want and it asks me to save a file, I click ok then it asks me to open, I click yes...and nothing happens. I have tried this with both the built in streamer and coreplayer open to no avail, any ideas guys?
Amazing! Yay! Thanks! Works perfectly... On 02 on Energy CHT ROM
works fine on mine, just use my player if catchup doesnt work.
Has anyone been able to get the samsung allshare app to work on nexus?
I've found a couple of links to the dlna.apk but it fails to install
Tried pushing with adb to /system/app - file is there but I don't see it in launcher - not really sure if it should show up automatically
Seems like it would be a good app to have since there doesn't seem to be any other dlna capable clients ....

Andromote (audio only though)
i have both the apk and the odex file for allshare, but it still does not install on Nexus. Agree this is great ap. Was blown away by how easy it was to play camcorder vids from wife's Vibrant on our TV.
This was featured on the BBC 'Click' program this afternoon. Looked great being able to play a vid from your phone straight to your samsung TV wirelessly.
So I thought i'd resurrect this thread to see if any amazing dev could look into getting on the Nexus One
Bump
I'd really like to see the official Allshare app from Samsung working on HTC phones. I currently use a DLNA server (iMediaShare) on my Nexus One to stream movies/pics on my Samsung TV, but it would just be awesome to have the official app.
While there are a lot of DLNA-capable clients like Skifta, Twonky, iMediaShare, Netfront Life Connect, SoftMediaPlayer, BubbleUPnP and others, I like the interface on this one pretty well and I'd like to use it on my other devices. I'm hoping someone can determine what libraries need to be installed to make this install work.
It would be really great if y'all could make this work. I wish samsung would release this, that way i would have a great app and know its from them, maybe next time I would buy one of their phones
Just some things I'd like to do, if anybody has any tips or knows of any apps for any of these things.. Currently I think I'm still on TnT Lite 2.0.2, planning to update this evening, I have no trouble flashing (seriously putting a zip file and editing a txt file on a micro sd card is hardly technical)..
Get /sdcard2 mounted or if there's anything like good old unix ln that can get me to make it referenced underneath /sdcard so music player and everything else will scan it for media, so I don't have to copy all my music/movies local.
Get my exchange calendar items to show up in my normal calendar (without having to setup all my apps and stuff again from scratch)
Get seperate accounts on it so my wife can have her e-mail and facebook setup for her to login, and my email and such when I login
Get it hooked up to my cell phone as a bluetooth tether to go online with my phones 3g.
Hook it to my phone by bluetooth to make it my phone while I'm at home (I'm usually fiddling with it, would be nice not to have to get up and grab my phone when I get a call)
Play matroska video
Play my win 7 recorded tv without spending time manually re-encoding it to mpeg2 (anything that would maybe stream it from my PC doing a live re-encode if anyone knows)

believe pdanet has a bluetooth tethering option, at least it did for my winmo phone back in the day. havent tried it with any of my android devices yet.
standard def MKV video works a little better with the performance pack (2.1.0+). It's probably all software based with MKV containers, so the low res probably takes advantage of the speed bump. 720p MKV's, assuming they are h264 high profile, would still carp out.

Tried it, they pair, but there is no connection between the devices. Basically it's as if the gTab sees no services available (which is too bad... had my fingers crossed) This is TnT Lite 2.20 mind you, not sure what would happen if the same were done on CM or Zpad...
My wishlist is-> Mouse support and BT Tethering working in TnT Lite.
After that I'm good to go.

Updating solved this one. Sweet!
Oovoo has released a mobile application for the Evo and the Epic. It supports text based IM, voice calls, and most importantly High quality Video conferencing. This allows users to communicate with PC's and Mac's along with other mobile phones running Oovoo (only Evo and Epic for now).
The program is flawed however, I am unable to see the other user's video and they are unable to see mine. I am running CM6.1 with the latest Oovoo version available and no luck. I also tried on an Evo running Fresh (newest version) and I had the same problem. Any ideas?
oovoo Video
I keep trying to download the file from they website with no luck, some how i'm not able to get
the file.
Would you be able to drop the file to see how it works for me, thanks in advance.

Did u got it to work?
Any of you that are curious about how oovoo works, I just tried it out and it worked great.
Video FROM evo on PC was a little slow but was all very clear
[edit] I didn't test sound because I'm work.. I was testing the app with a friend
I was successful from pc to mac with video calls, but I could not get my video to show up on the mac or my evo on phone to cpu calls (cpu to evo). I saw the video on my evo and on my mac, but only saw a contact icon for the person I was calling. Any ideas? I am thrilled I will finally be able to make video calls to my wife and kids!
guys, make sure that the person on the PC (not MAC yet) has the ooVoo version made to work with mobile clients, go to the ooVoo website and go to the download page and download ooVoo Version 3.0.1.29, thats the one that should work with mobile phones, i hope that helps
Netflix is being a beezy and only allowing their live streaming app on phones with Snapdragon processors, which the Captivate doesn't have. Is it possible to port it over to the Captivate when it comes out?
Only time will tell. They are really working hard to stop the switching on Android or lock down Android.

It's not netflix's fault...they aren't being a beezy.
If they didn't do this they wouldn't have any content to provide and netflix would cease to exist because providers would pull the content.

I think there's a good chance they just haven't enabled streaming from the device yet. Most people are reporting the same issue
thanks for the apk. it works except for the streaming. i'm getting the same error 1005 that everyone else is. interestingly, my phone shows up on the netflix device management page as "Android Mobile (Obsolete)".
Have you guys tried PlayOn yet? It streams Netflix to your android thru media server. It works, although kinda laggy. Downfall is after 2 weeks free trial, its a pay subscription

ya i think its just the launcher and face at this point...don't think they have enabled the stream.
I have only seen 1 report of someone getting it to stream on an android device and with no proof or screens i call bogus
Loaded it on my stock 2.2 captivate.. ended up just locking up. Power button didn't work, had to pull the battery.
No Hardware DRM = No Netflix Streaming
Hardware level DRM?
Back at Mobile World Congress in February, Qualcomm had an exciting, yet troubling announcement. Their future chips would have the DRM libraries built in to run Netflix streaming. Apparently, the key to getting movie studios' blessing for Android is hardware level DRM. If you buy a phone with a Snapdragon, it might run Netflix. But if you have your eye on a phone with a Hummingbird or Tegra 2, you could be out of luck.

I'll bump this, been using PlayOn for a couple of years now. Not the ideal solution, but there really isn't one. Don't bother with using Media Server, PlayOn has a dedicated app.
It lets you watch a LOT more than just Netflix (Hulu, direct channels, local media files) via transcoding. The streams/movies are sent to your PC, which then transcodes and distributes them.
It creates a DLNA share for viewing streams on your home devices ... it will also, via the new Android app, let you view all of these streams over 3G. I'm currently watching Onion News via PlayOn over 3G (ie, my PC downloaded it, my Android phone app is able to view it remotely).
For me, its a huge boon when traveling. It does have buffering problems at times but that is more because my DSL upstream from home is slower than 3G downloading speed.
^^ was gonna do something similar with a media server program, cant remember which but my isp upload limit is only 600kbps. someday when i have fios or other connection with symetrical upload and download this will be awesome but unfortunately that might be a while
I feel like the only person that cannot access my account. The program just closes after I click login. Im running the phoenix rom
