I know this place is for windows mobile and android, but this sub-forum is for asking, right?
Firstly i want to ask, Can symbian UIQ be hacked to run android?
Second, Is the P1i's Hardware enough even just to run v1.6?
I don't need to hear "buy a cheap android instead" or "ur phone sucks", what I want is answers, like "no" or "not now"
If you need more info about this device, i could help by providing some links..

Please,
I'd like to know if is it possible to have a dual boot
for android mobile device (acer liquid) and windows mobile
thanks
I'd love to know about this too. Android's been impressing me on my FUZE, but I'm not entirely willing to dive in without a safety net.
If I could look forward to an AT&T version of Incredible in the future (or something similar) that would allow me to slip into WinMo if need be, I'd love it.
Or even better... an Android-native app that would launch WinMo apps. that way I'd be able to port over my beloved KinomaPlay. ^^d
Retro users?
Hi there,
I tried to search the question's forums and turned up to "no thread" on the subject.
When I tried to start one (and only then) I bumped into it!
Ok, I've being using Android for sometime now and do like it some but from time to time I just miss to have a smartphone that don't keep upgrading it's apps all the time!
Unfortunately there have been no decent WM phone on the brazillian operators of late (no Wm7 down here) and I quite could not leave the "eCompass" behind (saw no WM phone with it!).
Just now I'm waiting for some Nokia WM phones but until then...
(Possible I imagine that it is but)
... is there some hotshot out there to fix a WM version on an Android Device (like Defy or Galaxy Tab)?
C u!
There are quite a few compass apps on the Android Market.... Can you describe something unique eCompass does that you haven't found an adequate replacement?
Ah, before I go...
... Just to sign on the thread notification!
Just to the records...
(It appears that I was misunderstood and that my previous attempt at explaining it was unsuccessful!)
I was saying that I do not know of any WM device with compass capability! Just GPS.
"eCompass" was supposed to stand for electronic compass. It was not an app!

(Still awaiting...)
My friend try to do same thing on his android phone but no chance. I have another friend that can do it but he has some sort of universal phone that can had all os's made for phone.
Hey Guys,
1) sorry if this has come up before, search-fu is weak and nothign relevant seems to come up with the "Similar threads" thing.
2) My provider has all but forced me off Windows Mobile, which is fine, since with sideloading being such a hard task on WM7, and that I would have to pay alot to get a WM7 handset and go up monthly fees too, i'm not too fussed.
So i've taken the plunge and gone for an Android phone, trouble is I have a few apps on my old windows mobile device I would love to run on Android... number 1 priority being TomTom Navigator, which yes, I could repay for, but I don't see why I should have to.
So, is there any software in the works that will let me run Windows Mobile based apps on an Android phone?
many thanks
Sorry for bringing an old topic back into the daylight, but I have the same thought. I definately need some apps of WM running on Android when I'll buy my new phone, so this kind of emulator would be a major reason to switch from my outdated Touch Pro. Couldn't something like Haret be created, just to run Windows Mobile, not Android?
There is no, for now
thanks for clearing that out, that's a pitty. But how about the future? Is it at least theorically possible to create something to have this kind of dual boot? Would Android community and developers be interesting in this?
Yeah I wish that was possible, but no.
Tried to search the answer to my question, but cant find it anywhere.
I need to upgrade my current PDA because of specialised software, I need windows mobile 6.1 - 6.5, and while I am about it wi-fi may be a good idea. Because I am looking at an obsolete product the manufactures are of no help to me.
Been looking at eBay at HP Ipac's as there are so may to choose from.
My question is how do the model numbers relate to the age of the Ipac and its operating system, so I dont end up with something that wont do the job?
Hello,
I'd like to start programming Windows. I've heard that people submitting apps before February will obtain Windows Mobile. Is it true? Which framework should I use for?
Thank in advance
first, i think you're talking about Windows Phone, not Windows mobile.
to develop for this platform you have to download the sdk, including an emulator from this website:
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=27570
to publish applications on marketplace (and to unlock phones) you have to subscribe an AppHub contract (paid, 99$/€/year)
http://create.msdn.com/en-US/
if you want only to unlock a phone (without the marketplace developer access) you can read various posts on this forum
obtaining a developer phone is not that simple, but it depends which country you'r from
Yeah Windows Mobile was it, you could do more with it but it's in the past, Welcome to Windows Phone where MS tells you what you want and need instead. LOL. I have the Trophy and it is great but it will never be as good as my Touch Pro 2.

I agree, but only oh half...
90% of users are dummies. they need easy and closed operating systems.
that's the reason why ios and wp are so closed up.
WindowsMobile was great.. but such a mess!! it was used only from people that needed it.. if they want to sell... they have to realize something easy and reliable..
android takes a slightly different path, it is closed if you don't want to unlock it..
hello everyone,
I've just buy an Sony Ericsson Aspen, and i can't send SMS.
he had an windows mobile 6.5.3 Os, and i don't know where should i enter the centre message service.
Ps: I receive sms, but i can't sent
Please help me.
You're asking this on the WP7 forum... why? WinMo and WP7 have almost nothing (from a user perspective) in common. There should still be a bunch of WinMo forums active on XDA-Devs, possibly including one specific to your device. If a general search of the Internet (or of XDA-Devs) doesn't turn up the answer, try posting in a WinMo forum.
