[Q] SuperRam FroYo for HD2, question about it. New here. - General Questions and Answers

So I looked at the SuperRam Thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870518) and downloaded the files from the link that is posted on that thread:
http://www.multiupload.com/01Q9CDT76Y
And the instructions say to "copy the files Android and Media to the root of your sd card....." However, there were no such files in the download. No file named Android and no file named Media.....is there a newer thread that I just haven't found yet? What should I do?
Thank you.

What was in the file when it was done downloading?
Should be a zip I believe. Create a folder and extract your download to the new folder. Your android folder and media file should appear. Pm me if you need more help.

Help needed
i first off want to thank the creators of this build its GREAT!!! I do have a couple of problems with this build that are not common to any other person. I have been experiencing sleep screen that does not wake from its slumber. To correct this i have to log into facebook and press the "home" key to prevent it from its blackout. If this occurs i have to pull the battery and reboot. Im currently on
radio:2.10.50.26
Kernal:2.6.32.15
Darkstone SuperRAM Froyo V1.5
I have read the fourm on this build over and over. I cant stress the fact that there are a lot of people out there without common sense. Since im new to the site i cannot post to the build but if anyone that has experiance with this rom i would appreciate the assistance.

home plugin - weather problem

ive installed the weatherfix on my kaiser. everything worked fine but ive lost the other functions like buddys and sounds. so i unistall the patch and got my old home plugin back. trough this process i got another problem:
i cant get any weather-data.
does anybody know how i can fix this problem?
thanks for your help
im really a newbie and searched all the forum. ive read over 200 posts in this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319187 because i thought it would be the right forum and used the search function over 7 hours. but i dont get the answer to my question. if somebody just would send me the link it would be great. ive downloaded a lot of stuff to fix this problem in this forum, but my problem is that i dont know whats excacly the answer to the problem and i dont want to crash my tilt. its my first windows mobile device.
I'm going through something similar, if I understand you correctly.
You installed N2A's fix to be able to get weather data on custom locations? When you say that you can't get any weather data do you mean just for the new location you created or is it the same for any other location in the default list?
I also have the same problem. anyone know how to get local weather on the HTC home working?
Me Too
I would like the local weather too.
i got the same problem with my wizard, i just done a hard reset.. x)..
I've managed to get this working perfectly thanks to this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319187&highlight=weather+htc+xml
I'd followed the guide before to install the patched version of HTC Home provided, but as has happened to other people my icons got messed up. It also stopped the backlight changing shortcut in HTC Home from working (I tried a few of the patched versions and none seemed to like the backlight).
In the end I found it much better just to patch the htchome.dll file on the version already installed on my Kaiser, following the guide at the bottom of http://weather.not2advanced.com/files/ linked from the first post in the above mentioned thread. That way I got to keep things exactly how they were and how I like them with the added advantage of working weather info.
I then set the attributes of my patched dll to System and Read Only and removed Archive to match the attributes of my original htchome.dll in my Windows folder. I was able to replace the file using Resco Explorer - it asked if I wanted to overwrite the existing file and then warned me that the file was in the ROM and replacing the file could break my device. I confirmed the overwrite and told it I was sure I wanted to write the patched dll to ROM and it all worked out very nicely.
I'm using Dutty's 2k8 ROM (v3 final) and my htchome.dll file shows version 2.0.814.722. Here's a copy of my patched dll for anyone that wants to use it - I strongly suggest only using it if you're using the same ROM as me and the version number is the same. I've no idea what would happen if you tried to replace a different version and I won't be held responsible for anyone trying it .

Big problem after ROM update! Can't delete systen files anymore! Please help!

I flashed my HD2 to the newest official ROM and i discovered that it's not possible to rename and/or delete system files like manila files anymore!
Why is this??
With my old ROM i could rename manila files to *.bak and then delete them using Total commander but with the new ROM this isn't possible! I'm really desperate, I don't know what to do!
Could it be that HTC made the new firmware more secure?
Any solutions???
I found out that I can't copy my welcomehead to the windows folder anymore...it just wouldn't let me...
there has to be a registry entry somewhere, just can't find it at the moment.

I dont have the phone yet or WM6.5 so I cant comment too much but you could try reflashing the rom and see how that affects things. Did you flash the rom using a gold card or just update an official rom?
Hi may i ask where you got this official rom update from? as i have not been able to find it on any htc website

sorry for the noobness, but what does a goldcard do???? I have an image which was e-mailed to me after i placed my CID on a thread here. How do i go about using it. Is there anything on the web i can read up regarding this?
Sorry for hijacking your thread dude! Do what this guy says, try to re-flash your Rom and see if that helps.

Rename your new welcomehead from welcomehead.192 to welcomehead.193 and copy it into the windows folder. Then use the Advanced Configuration Tool 3.3 (it needs MS Framework 3.5 to be installed to work) and go to Splash Screen. There you have to click the first green entry and change the path from windows/welcomehead.192.png to windows/welcomehead.193.png. Then Softreset. Now you have a new welcomehead, even with new ROM. Have fun!

Make it the way i told you, you don't have to change something in the windows folder to have a new startup screen.
^I did it and it worked great. thanks
But there are some other issues...for example if you want to enable navi panel or hidden games you need to copy some files into the start menu folder but that is not possible because the ROM won't let you.
any solution for the others?

New ROM!!! - TechLust ver1 BETA <SJK> - Help me cook better!

Hey Wing Nuts! Sorry... I'll never make that joke again...
I'm new to cooking, so I need help. This is my first ROM. I have done minimal testing and have made no changes as of yet. I'm hoping a couple of you can help me figure out what to add, change, or remove from this ROM and work out any of the other bugs so I can get better at making them.
The goal of this build was to make something aesthetically pleasing, not too stripped, and still lightweight enough to make the most of the limited space on the P4350.
This build is for the Wing only (Herald keyboard is not supported) and was designed for use with an RUU. I have no idea if it will actually work via SD re-flash, but if you decide to try, let me know.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Message me to get a DL link.
On a side note, does anybody know how to add CABs into SJK so I can cook them into ROMs?
Maybe I can post the link like this...
Code:
Go to mediafire and use the following extensions, but replace the commas with slashes:
,file,widwm4iji4y,T L ver 1 - BETA.nbh
If you want, follow my guide in my sig to learn how to utilize .cab files in your building experience.
I'll also give the ROM a run and test it out for you.
Please also do me a favor and let me download your kitchen .erv file so I can help you better..
Navigate to C:\kitchens\SuperJustKitchen\Working_Folder\TOOLS\RomSaved and you'll see the saves that you saved.. If you didn't save, try to mimic your ROM again in the kitchen and save for me and then upload it here in a .zip file.
I think I understand. I'm cooking a new version right now, so I'll get those files to you as soon as it's done. I'm using the most recent version of SJK, just fyi (the one based in osKitchen1.0). I know where the .fe file is, but I don't have a Working_Folder in my SJK files...
I tried using your guide, but the pictures you have posted don't match what I see, so it confuses me...
My kitchen files are based off of Bebe's kitchens. I have links on my guide on the first post of that thread.
What build are you using?
Version 7. And in my guide I have all the Sys & Xip files that are also up to date too.
lol @ "wingnut." Made me chuckle.
So, update...
Recent computer issues have lost me some cooking time...
Also, when trying to cook the new ROM, SJK seems to have lost a file that is integral to the creation of a new rom, so I have to go back and find it in the original .7z files.
I also installed Ivan's JustStable5 Micro onto the test wing, and now it won't accept a reflash either through SD or RUU. So I have to work on that issue as well. I'll let you know when we're back up and running.
Otherwise, any existing feedback on the ROM will be helpful before the new version is finished. Thanks everyone!
New Release
Ok, so all off the issues I was having have been solved. I've switched to bebe's kitchen (thanks Trib!) with Ivan's files and have a new version uploaded. Link below.
Changes:
Some icons changed to fit theme. More to come!
Custom splash animation added.
(Trib, how do I change the ugly orange Windows image, as well as get rid of the greenscreen startup?)Rid ROM of several useless files and added a few new ones.
ROM size dropped 20MB (From 77MB to 57MB)
After Flash:
Storage Memory:
Total: 45.92
In Use: 7.64
Free: 38.28Program Memory:
Total: 49.83
In Use: 40.42
Free: 9.41
Code:
http rghost net,1487003

Thanks Trib. I actually like Bebe's version better...
You're welcome. I feel bebes is easier to work with..
I'll get the save file uploaded soon. There's an issue that I noticed with the "incoming caller" icon not showing. I modified it so that the sihlouette(sp?) is outside the original square size, but not outside the original image size? Is that a picture demension issue?
Archive your complete working_folder for me and upload. I'd like to see all files so I can help..
Unfortunately, the work computer isn't working again. I've never gotten so many BSODs in my life without any real explaination as to the problem. It seems to do it whenever it feels like it.
Anyways, I digress, I'll get you the working folder as a 7z asap. Post any thoughts you have on the ROM in the meantime.
Hey, I can't get the file to upload to rghost. I zipped it with "ultra" compression. Should I have done something different?
Use mediafire or 4shared or megaupload then.. I have an account with all of them.
Is it normal that the WorkingFolder.7z file is over 300MB?
Yeah, that's nothing.. My kitchen is over 3 gigs - thats 3072 MB's , lol.
So, I'm trying to work with rghost, filefactory, and megaupload all at the same time, but none seem to be actually accomplishing the upload. wtf.

File location for ICE ROM
I could not post in the specific forum so I guess this is the only place to ask.
I was looking to flash ICE to my Optimus V which currently has CM7.
The file in the topic is causing me a problem in that when I try to extract it I get an error from IZArc that it does not support that file type? It is a .zip file?
Is the download corrupt or something? Is there an alternate location to obtain the file?
This is the thread I refer to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1332644
The file is: signed_ICSandwich2.3.7...zip
I have it...cannot be opened.
Howdy.
There is no reason for you to open that file. No matter what you want to do with it.
What it is designed for it to be flashed onto the internal storage of your phone in order to install a version of Gingerbread that has a very nice ICS theme integrated into it. It is not an Android 4.x ROM.
If your phone is rooted and you want to flash that ROM onto it then the best place to look for information on that particular ROM is in the thread you posted the link to. It may take some searching.
You may also want to look here for information on how to get the contents of the .zip file transferred over to your phone:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1197991
Given that you are trying to open the .zip file I think you may be a candidate for learning some of that material. Unless you just wanted to analyze the structure and quality of the developer's work. (;-)
Even though you can't post to the thread you listed above you _might_ be able to get some help if you send a private message to the developer or, preferably, one of the other posters. But he may not be able to offer the assistance that you need.
Don't give up, but still, be prepared to find alternate routes to success.

PC script to auto remove apk's

Hey everyone!
On the rom I currently use there are about 20 apk's I have no need for. What I do is download the rom, and individually delete the apk's before flashing the rom. The thing is I flash quite often (cheeky, I know ) and this is getting quite frustrating.
Ideally I want a script that does this all for me. I found one but it seems be for running on the phone, after the apk's have been installed. Does anyone know how I can create a script for the PC that does this before I even install the rom?
Thank you for any suggestions.
Oh and here's the thread I found that looked relevant...

Over what OS?
If in Windows (or any M$ OS, incl. DOS) you can make a batch file.
My file is adjunted as example (modify as you like, put in the root dir -obviously to the unzipped ROM- and run. Rezip and maybe re-sign)
salu2
Thank you. This is exactly the kind of thing I am after. If I had of been born just a few years earlier I would probably know all about batch scripts. Fortunately, I just missed the DOS days!
Anyway, I puzzled out / looked up the commands in the script you posted. Based on that I extracted the rom, then placed the batch file within it, so that the cd (current directory) command runs correctly.
Unfortunately this mucks up the signing on the rom. Do you re-sign your CM7 roms every time you do this or is there an easier way?
Edit: My PC is Win 7, 64bit, soon to be Win 8 Consumer Preview.
Edit: The roms do not need resigning.
I don't re-sign the ROM, simply flash again over Clockworkmod Recovery.. and work.
But, you can:
1) sign using Auto-Sign....
2) Click [Thanks]...

Big thank you. That's solved that one nicely for me!
You're welcome.
Updated zip in my first Post.

Hey again. I was hoping to build on the script you kindly provided. At the moment I am using various alpha roms where the exact apk's present changes fairly often. It would be great if I could see the outcome of each action. This way I would know if the apk has had it's name changed or been removed. How would I enable this?
