Downgraded Legend .. now what ? - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

I downgraded my legend to 2.1 , 1.3.X build version. I would I like to go the 2.2 version - but it should be rooted, how do i do so ?
-e-
My HBOOT is on 1.0 , how do i go to 0.43 ?

any help guys ?

DAMN. Need some reply guys ! Here il put it once again nicely for you:
I just downgraded my legend from 2.2 froyo to 2.1 , 1.3X build. I want to root it but my HBOOT version is 1.00. Will this be a problem because i think i require 0.43? If so , how do i proceed ?
Also I would like to go to Froyo again. Therefore which ROM is the original FROYO ROM for Legend which is on root and also provides ROOT ?
Also i would like to know if we are on ROOT , can we change ROMS on the fly ? Like , when and where we want without the need for a PC ?

well I have no experience with your phone model at all, but couldn't you just try and download one of the root apps from the market? I used one click lag fix on my galaxy s, but I don't know if it would work with your model.
As for roms, I use rom manager and that allows me to flash to new roms whenever I want without the need of a computer.

Rom manager is an app in the market. But, you must be rooted and more importantly, make sure that your phone is compatible with everything. Clockwork is a modified recovery menu that comes with rom manager. It has a lot more options than the stock recovery menu. Rom manager and clockwork are very helpful in creating backups in case you cant boot up or something but can still access the recovery menu.
Make sure you know how to fix your phone if you ended up bricking it, that the rom you look at is compatible with your current setup, etc...
But like I said, I know nothing about your phone at all so it could work differently. Read up on everything you can in the Forums for it.

[Q] need alittle help....plz

i just got my inspire 4g and im coming for the darkside(iphone)....this is the first android ive owned , i love the phone....but i really dont care for all the crap that at&t has preloaded on it....so my question is wats the best way to uninstall all this crap? not sure if there is 1 app to do it or if i have to root or what....any help would be great.....
To get rid of ATT's bloatware, you will need to Root. There are a couple of stock Rooted ROMs that you can flash that have the bloat removed and HSUPA enabled, and there are also a bunch of custom ROMs that won't have this stuff either. There are 2 different ways you can go about rooting, either by using the attn1's Hack Kit or bubby323's HTC Inspire 4G Simple Root and S-OFF. Whichever way you choose, make sure you read a ton before you root. The process is a little involved, but if you understand what you're doing going into it it will be A LOT easier. I can root these things in about 15 minutes at this point
so which way would be the best for what i wanna do?.....im not real tech savy with android at this point, so i guess a stock rom will serve my purpose, or whats the advantage with going with a diffrent rom?
Its actually really easy once you do it the first time. There is ClearDroid, TCP, and Dilligaf roms.
As far as which one it is your choice, you can try them all if you want.
I just rooted for the first time last night using this method.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=961406
Just follow along with the video that is in the link and it's easy as pie.
I am using the ClearDroid ROM

Stock ROM minus the bloat.
This is what worked for me, everyone is different.
1 more question...i see everyone talking about flashing the radio also so is this something i have to do if im going to install android rev. rom or do i not worry with the radio?? or is it like if i flash the rom i have to flash the radio as well?

You don't have to flash the radio. It is optional.
wow...that was fast already rooted my phone in about 30 minutes.....thanks guys for all the help now i just have to decide on which rom i wanna install on it
one last question after i used bubbys 1 click and im ready to flash my new rom(android rev.) its says i need the clockwork mod im guessing thats the same thing as the rom manager app i have on there now....so all i need to do is put the rom on my sd card then use rom manager to install it

you use rom manager. open it up and click "flash custom recovery image" or something like that. (its the first button). if your going to flash a gignerbread rom then get the3.xxx version of clockwork. if a 2.2 rom then 2.xxx. but be careful, i hear after using bubbys method, you get black screens in clockwork. thats why i just used the hack kit

[Q] Couple of questions regarding updates and rooting

Hi,
Im new with Android and have a couple of questions :
I have flashed my ZTE Light with a unofficial Android 2.2 (from official 2.1) and that works grate, but what does this really mean in the future? Will I be able to update to the official 2.2 when its released? Is there any drawbacks comparing to a official firmware?
The internal memory is getting full fast even when using SDMove so I am thinking of rooting the device and by that be able to use applications like Move2SD, but what will rooting mean? Will I still be able to remove the rooting and will I still be able to update the phone to a official firmware? What is the risks?
I have seen that there is alot of talk about rooms when dealing with rooting? Is the room the software that will root my device? And why is there so many diffrent rooms to use?
BestRegards
If your rooted running the 2.2 ROM now, why go back to what is "officially" released? You are already ahead of the game.

As I said, Im new to Android so I do not really know that much about it yet.
I have not rooted the device yet but I have flashed with the following files : [Link removed]
android_2.2_for_zte_light-read_1st.rar - Flashprogram
V9_GENERICV1.0.0B03.rar - Files to flash on to the device
Sales_MultiDL_MSM7227_patched.zip - somekind of patch
1. I Supose that the official 2.2 firmware will be more adapted to my device then this flash is? Or will there be no point in going with the official when having this flash in place? Could there by any problems with future updates(ex 2.3) when using this custom firmware?
I have a guid on how to root the device based on the leaked 2.2 V9_GENERICV1.0.0B03 (Android 2.2) rom.
2. Is this a good idéa or is there any problems with this? If this does not work as needed is it possible to go back to an unrooted device? And if so how? Will I have to re-flash the device(re-install everything)?
3. I supose that a rom is the rooting software and there could be many flavour of a rooting software(rom)
Would be grate If your could answer my questions
BestRegards
First of all i would like to clear ur misunserstanding u have.. a ROM is not a software used for rooting.. indeed ROM is the OS for your phone.. there are many custom roms available.. u can choose them according to ur need.. and always make sure that u r flashing a rom which is suitable for ur phone..
Rooting is nothing but giving kind of administrative access to u.. so u can delete the protected contents or boltwares from ur phone.. for u to flash any new roms, u should be rooted..

The ROM im using us a custom ROM, the manufacture(ZTE) have not yet released a Android 2.2 ROM for my device yet, this is why I have to use a custom ROM.
Accoring to the author of the guid I followed to flash the custom Android 2.2 ROM to my device, the ROM is not rooted. This seems to be correct because programs that are supose to move apps from the device internal memory to the SD card is not working.
To get this working a parmanent rooting needs to be done according to the author.
If this parmanent rooting is dones I supose that I will be able to use apps that moves other apps to the SD card.
So If I decide to root my device and then turn back again I should simple be able to re-flash the device with the custom Android 2.2 ROM that I used before? Is This correct?
And If the manufacture releases a orginal Anroid 2.2 ROM I will also be able to flash this in to the device, this will however not be possible to root if the manufacture is not releasing the source.
Am I correct?
BestRegards

[Q] [Help] Help a n00b out.. :)

Ok, finally got my first Android phone, the SGS+, now what?
1). My version is KG1 and most on this forum are other variants. Is this code just regional or what?
2). Rooting. This allows me to have full control over the system. What will this help me with? (Except OverClocking)
3). Custom ROMs. These little "toys" transform your phone and make it better (in a nut shell). How do you flash a ROM and how do you restore to Stock SGS+ FW?
4). Recovery Mode. I heard you need to replace it with a better one in order to OC and change ROMs. How do you do that exactly?
These are the main ones also,
5). My phone is slow at times... I think I have too many apps running at once (After reboot I have 220mb RAM used from 350mb). I think I should Hard Reset and see if that will work?
6). 2.3.3 -> 2.3.4. I can not find the Samsung Page where to get the upgrade (I heard that it`s called 2.3.3 but it`s 2.3.4 and bla bla bla)
So, I would apreciate it if you could help me a little,
Thanks in Advance!
I have the exact same question as you, so thanks anyone who can answer this hopefully.

1. Regional firmware, yes...you should stick to it or you might find gsm/3g problems...unless there's a custom firmware like CM7 which is universal like
2. Rooting? lots of advantages...one of them is to install "chainfire3D" get "tegra 2 plugin" and play most of tegra 2 games with high quality graphics...you can use titanium backup to permanently remove systems apps or backup your apps..e.t.c
3. No custom firmware is available, it's a shame, yes it is for the devs specially...ironic..but there's a tool called "odin multidownloader" it helps you flash firmwares...you can get your stock firmware from "samfirmware.com"
4. No such recovery is developed...the name for that recovery is "Clockworkmod" which is not yet developed for this phone. Shame on devs :/ using that you can backup whole firmware so you can restore it incase your device doesn't bootup properly (quite straightforward) also you can install custom firmwares in a .zip format which i really like because that way, you will never mess up your phone or brick it...well exagerated there but it's the best and easiest way to flash a custom firmware
5. Hardreset doesn't get rid of your system apps...you can delete them by rooting the phone then installing titanium backup from market which is free.
6. get 2.3.4 rooted from here....i'm using it and it has no problem whatsoever:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1260707
Another good thing about 2.3.4 is that there is a battery drain bug in 2.3.3 which is fixed in 2.3.4 so i strongly recommend you to flash that...
Press thanks if i helped you
Thanks shad0wboss for the helpful information.
I do hope devs can make Custom ROMs and Custom Recovery a reality.
But until then, rooting will sufice.
Also, you said that you are using 2.3.4, is that a Universal or I should really stick with my regional-FW?

shouldn't be a problem since my stock firmware is also different than that one and everything's working fine...if it doesn't work out for you, you can always flash back to your stock firmware.

1- you should port other phone's rom to your phone and then flash it.. only then will you be able to use that rom on your phone..
2- Google stock rom/original firmware <your phone 'name> .. if its available on the internet then you will find one.. or else you will need to do a nandroid backup or extract it..
3- there is no general rom which works on all phones rightaway.. there is cyanogenmod which is by far available for all phones (don't know about Chinese phones) .. but you will have to do some tweaks or modification to work on a specific phone because different phones have different hardwares..
4-4.1.2 is jb and not ics.. you will have to put cm10 or probably delete the bloatware installed by your supplier..
5- as i said before you need to port cm9 for your phone.. there are many noob friendly guides on xda to help porting roms.. check out

try srsroot, unlock root,z4 root.. if you're not getting your Rom you extract it yourself. I think before porting any Rom,you have to figure out root for your phone because NO CUSTOM ROM WILL WORK WITHOUT ROOT.. try srsroot, it has rooted many unconventional devices also.. Google srsroot, download it from their official website and try..

does your phone has locked bootloader or UNlocked one?
I have a same problem...any ideas?
How good are these phones?
very good phones
A suggestion...
I'm not 100 % you can do it but there is a slight chance you can root your phone through fastboot ! Maybe pushing the su binary and apk through adb and giving permissions or maybe flasing a custom CWM Rrecovery through fastboot and flashing an SU flashable zip through that recovery !
BUT be awere BOTH of these methods are BIG MAYBE ! I can not test and I can not ensure you any of these will work !
You can get a flashable SU package here :
1) Superuser : http://androidsu.com/superuser/
2) Super SU : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053
you can
yes you can
i know page on Facebook that support me to root my device and install cmw
Chinese smart phone support
I used this to root my i9400, hope it helps!

hipstreet 7DTB25 custom rom

Hi everyone ,
I have a hipstreet 7DTB25 i manage to root it using kingo root (1 clic tool) and to remove the kingo super user to replace it by SuperSU. But now im facing a problem i want to install a custom rom but even after searching google ,xda and cyanogen website im still mystified. I got a couple question :
1) Is there a compatible rom with my device ? If yes, how can you tell?
i've looked to CM 11.0 M7 it is build on android 4.4.2 which my device runs on now (btw i dont trust it to be a clean install since there was a lolipop sticker covered by a kit kat one on the box ) ive search about it but it dont say nothing on my device, i try to look at cyanogenmod site but i've found nothing. And since i have really slow download speed and dont want to break my hardware for nothing i want to get informed before doing anything
2)Did using cwr (clockwork recovery) is correct to flash something on my device (if i could find anything to flash)
i've install it once was running great and making reboot in recovery so i suppose the answer to be yes but i dont really know ,the only weird thing i noticed was that i cannot back up anything
3)How can you tell if a website that offer custom rom are reliable? (Except xda, i know that one  )
4)If im not able at all to flash a custom rom is there a possibility of changing a stock rom to another?
Thanks
Hi, I bricked mine.. are you able to tell me where to get the ROM and twrp? Thanks.
