Hi XDA Armies,
I've recently purchased a mytouch 4G and i've been told to root my phone. I have no idea what the heck this means and I have know idea which software to choose as far as for rooting.
All that froyo yofro does not make any sense to me at all. Any mytouch 4G user other could tell me which software you are using right now as far as rooting your phone goes?
What are the advantages of rooting your phone?

is it possible to root your HTC Inspire and use it with T-mobile with their 4g Speed or will it only be running on EDGE?
Just rooting has no influence on data speed or connectivity.
I just rooted my inspire and i'm using it T-mobile but the data its only running on EDGE and not 4g. I'm trying to find any post that addresses this issue and i cant find any. So IDK if i did something wrong thats only giving me EDGE or is just not possible.
Well, was it running on 4g before you rooted it?

Hey I have a question, the guy who flashed my nexus s to boost said he can do the same thing with an evo 4g, but he would be able to get 4g on the evo. I think he said he could get a partition for it? I have no idea what he was talking about so pardon me if i said something wrong, but does anyone know of a way to get 4g on the nexus s through boost? If not, is boost getting 4g anytime soon ever?
I remember reading a thread that said that if the account that the phone was on before the phone was flashed is still active then the WiMax keys should still work to connect to Sprint for 4G. I'm not 100% on this though, I don't believe Boost has their own 4G network.

Hey there I picked up my nexus s today from T-Mobile. I love it ! I am wondering though, should I be downloading roms and doing stuff in the NS GSM forum or should I be doing that stuff from the NS4G? The Model is GT-I9020T , but i want to make sure whether it's 4G or not .. before I screw anthing up thanks !
You should be nexus s development section, the 4G is the CDMA version for sprint

Hey guys sorry if this has been covered i could not find it anywhere so i figured id ask here since i dont mess with HTC my girlfriend recently switched to Verizon after i rooted her Inspire...she loved her inspire and hates the Incredible 2 that she has...my question is: Is there a way to flash or hack a radio to the Inspire for it to work off her Verizon account?

I not sure what frecuenquies Verizon works with, but there's no chance to change that even with rooting or flashing a new radio....

I figured as much since Verizon is CDMA and ATT is GSM but i wasnt sure if there might just be some sooper sekret way to do it that i wasnt aware of
The HTC Thunderbolt is the closest resembling phone Verizon has to the Inspire.
Yeah but she already has the Incredible 2 and we cant afford to just buy a 500dollar phone just wondered if there was a way to unlock the Inspire to work on Verizon and her account if there isnt its cool ill just have to listen to her *****in about her Incredible then not listen to what i tell her to do on how to fix her problems LOL

Hey everyone, I just got a mytouch 4g replacement sent to me for 5$. The new phone is here but my current mytouch is rooted. I cant seem to find the pd15mg zip anywhere but i was wondering would they get mad if i mailed them this rooted phone? people have said for other phones they mailed it in rooted and it didnt seem like a problem. any help?
