HDR app - Galaxy Tab Themes and Apps

Hello,
is there any good app for HDR photos for the Galaxy Tab?
Thanks

I use Camera 360. Its a little buggy and does not scale to full screen. But it takes wonderful Tilt and Shift pictures and reasonable HDR shots (strong or light HDR effects)

Vignette takes great hdr shots its my fav cam app so far

[Q] Best HDR Camera?

Hey,
I was wondering if you can help me find/choose the best HDR camera app out there. Which one do you use and are you satisfied? Have you tried more than one and can give a comparison?
Thank you

i believe he said 'HDR' camera app
this is the best imo
http://www.appbrain.com/app/pro-hdr-camera/com.eyeappsllc.prohdr
gives excellent results but you need a steady hand and the subject to be 100% still, but is better than HDR camera+
Pro hdr camera looks good. I'll give it a try. i try to handcraft a thing to keep it still for pictures I think it will be fine. 360 does not take real hdr. it just takes one shot and adjusts it afterward s

Agreed. I love this app. Have used it for over a year now. HDR camera and a lot of other modes.
For the record, Camera 360 uses a FILTER to simulate HRD. It isn't exactly the same as true HDR, but might be enough for most people. Real HDR photography takes multiple photos of the same scene with different exposures then combines them. You have to have a steady hand and patience for it to work right. Pro HDR works really well.
Yes, Pro HDR makes two Photos and compute them to one.
So you have a "real" HDR Photo.
But support is very bad. I've asked a question via Email and there is no response. I hate such things.
Last update is month ago...
I hope they can implement widescreen photos now.
Hi,
here is a little video with these camera apps:
Attached example photos.

thanks for the video and samples. I´ve had problems getting pictures of exactly the same scene because i dont have a dock or whatsoever.
I get the best results with HDR Camera whereas the Pro HDR Camera is better in usability and interface

HTC Camera on CM7?

Is it possible?
I liked the HTC camera because of fast saving, better photo quality, widescreen shooting, and touch to focus in video mode.

As far as I know it's not possible. However there are some good substitutes in the Market, such as Camera Zoom Fx

[Q] Possible camera improvements?

I mean picture quality, not video recording. I have been somewhat disappointed with the camera so far. Even at 8 MP, my pictures often turn out strangely blurry, or the colors end up being washed out. Are there any tweaks/mods/apps you guys are aware of that may improve the camera? I'm running cyanogenmod 7, if that makes any difference.

Try an app called "HDR Camera" it trends to make pictures better using HDR (High Dynamic Range).

Aren't most camera apps disposed to make low res images though? How many will actually take pictures at full 8mp resolution?

I tried HDR camera before, as well as Camera Zoom. They both support 8MP from what I remember. But Zoom didn't really help my camera's quality, while HDR takes pretty darn long to take a photo. The colors are better, but the photos still aren't as sharp as they should be.
And thanks prettyboy, I'll try the engine when I get home, and we'll see how that goes. From the pictures, the improvement looks pretty significant.
P.S. Happy New Year everyone!
I removed the little glass piece, makes the pictures look better. Especially outside shots.

ProCapture Camera app takes better Pictures

Reading all the reviews the one thing most of them take issue with is the camera on the Moto X. There is something very common between them, the inconsistency from picture to picture. Most say the Moto X is capable of taking good pictures but you need to put up with several bad ones as well. If you take the info from the reviews it's not a "Camera" issue as much as a "Software" issue. The timing of the auto focus to the shutter seems off as well as possibly the color & sharpness of the pictures.
I own a Nexus 4 currently and it doesn't take the greatest pictures either with the AOSP camera. One thing I have noticed is Cyanogenmod's Focal camera app takes better pictures. I tried taking pictures with AOSP, Focal and ProCapture app and comparing them. While I am not using the paid version of ProCapture the pictures are sharper and the color is spot on vs AOSP and Focal, even though ProCapture is taking 3.2mp shots and AOSP/Focal are taking 8.0mp pictures.

I know someone using ProCapture with their new Droid Maxx and says it has made a big difference in the image quality. This should obviously translate over to the Moto X as well. The full version is a few bucks and if someone is willing to purchase it and post their results for everyone that could help lots of X owners out.
Here are three pictures I took today and you can see how ProCapture's are sharper and the color is not washed out. First picture is AOSP, second Focal and last one is ProCapture.
I like the ProCapture app. I have the premium version. I will have to take some test shots to compare the two. However, I cannot find anyway of changing which app is launched when you use the twist gesture to open the camera. Every time I do it, it opens the stock camera. I have made the ProCapture app the default when swiping from the lockscreen but that does not apply to the gesture. Any ideas?

edit: One thing I wish the ProCapture had was an HDR setting.
HDR setting is in Focus/Scene option menu(second down on the left).
I'm very interested in seeing side by side shots you take. If you can take a variety of shots, in bright sunlight, the sky(good for color comparisons), low light, indoors, close ups, action shots, etc with both camera's and post them here.
As far as the gesture opening the app that's something you can't probably change with the stock software. Once developers start making rom's & mods for the Moto X I'm sure the gesture will be able to be reassigned to another app.

That's a lot of pictures. I will see what I can do.
As for the HDR setting, is it called something other than HDR? Cause it is not listed under the Focus/Scene option. I have the following:
Focus > Auto, Continuous, Infinity
Scene > Auto, Action, Portrait, Landscape, Night, Night portrait, Theatre, Beach, Snow, Sports, Sunset, Steady photo, Fireworks, Party, Candlelight, Backlight
Color effect > None, Mono, Sepia, Negative, Solarize, Posterize, Aqua, Blackboard, Whiteboard
Any comparison pictures you can take will be helpful for everyone. It can show its a software issue that can be fixed.
I'm using the free version of ProCapture, here is the HDR setting.

Xious1 or someone else give ProCapture a try and post pictures taken with it and the stock camera. I don't have a Moto X yet so I just know how much of a difference it has made on my Nexus 4 and my wife's Razr i.

I'm really not so sure I see much of a difference. Here's my samples:
Moto X Stock Camera:
Moto X ProCapture Free:
Moto X Focal:
Olympus E-PL1 with M.Zuiko 17mm F2.8 lens:
iPhone 5:
Nexus 4 Stock Camera:
Nexus 7 (2013) Stock Camera:
This is done with zero tweaking at all, straight out of the cameras. Even the mediocre Nexus 4 camera makes the Moto X look bad.

I understand testing the app without tweaking, but the reason I did a search for moto x & Procapture was simply, the X doesn't give users the ability to access settings like white balance, exposure, etc. I'm currently on an S3, and was set on either an X or a Droid Maxx, but the camera quality was holding me back. To get decent pics on my S3 I have to play with those settings, but with the stock Moto camera software, I wouldn't have that option. Now if it's possible to get rid of the purple tint that some reviewers are seeing, or give it better contrast, I wouldn't be so apprehensive. But I thought the point of getting an app like that was so you could tweak the settings to get it closer to the better cameras out there.
ProCapture allows many more options to tweak your shots. I used backlight mode this weekend to take pics were my daughter was standing in front of a large glass wall of windows with the sun coming through. With out back light mode you could hardly see her, with it on she popped to the front of the image. This is on my Nexus 4.
Now if you haven't heard Moto is pushing out an update to T-Mobile users right now that fixes the camera issues. The pictures side by side show a dramatic change in quality.

Downside is can't use the cool wrist flick feature thing.
i agree, procapture is a very good camera, expecially to take panorama pics.
but in my opinion the big limit of this app is when you play with options and effect, because, while stock's camera reset values when you launch the app, procapture doesn't do that, but only for exposure (if you check it in settings).
so if you play with values when you launch in another time the app you have to reset all the values by yourself. i sent an email to the dev to make the app reset values when you lanch it.
I used Procapture far a while and was very pleased with it. Had you given FV-5 Camera try? I use it for now and for now i stay with it as it makes for me the best images.

You can do a separate exposure and focus though. I used to enjoy ProCamera but I think I can produce better shots with Camera FV-5.
Wow I just saw this post. I was about to give up on my Moto X camera and call it a loss for indoor photos.
Camera FV-5 changed that. This thing is great. Once you read through the manual to figure out adjustments, this thing takes great photos.

yes i use it since my RAZR. You have to read the manual (pdf) to get knowledge of the full potential of the app. The developer is releasing in some weeks a beta app for taking videos
by the way, there was a big bug when taking photos in portrait with Moto X. The images freezes. This was solved in the last update.

For those who want good quality photos with low light (aosp problem)
Make sure you use night mode!!!
To bad panorama mode and 4k don't work
Hope I'm not breaking any rule posting this
Will try it . Thanks!
Can you post example photos in normal/low light?
There is a significant noise reduction when using night mode
Best camera app ive had on AOSP so far

Great! Will try right now and report back :good:
EDIT:
The app is great! The camera response is very fast and the app includes lots of modes ! I do notice that the camera is somewhat blurry at close range, the long range is normal but when trying to focus on objects within 50cm I get a picture with somewhat blurry edges. This is not the case with the stock LG camera/software or normal AOSP cam. Great app and I prefer it over the stock AOSP camera!
