XDA Orbit / PC Software

Good Morning to all
As you may or may not be aware i am new to this forum and i would just state that i am not an XDA developer of any kind yet ? ( not sure how i become one or if i can ,
I have a question in relation to the subject of this post i was just wondering if anyone knew of an Internet site where i can download the install software for my XDA , i have the new XDA Orbit and i am trying get it working with my work pc i have the usb cable provided with the pack but forgot to take the install cd :-( with me to work in the morning i i was hoping there would be somewhere i could source this install file/data from ???
Anyway i hope i have posted my query in the right place and thanks in advance for any help

I was just wondering does "OMAP Overclocked" mean that i/u r able to over clock the CPU on my XDA Orbit ?
And 1 other question i hope you dont mind but how much does upgrading the firmware help the function of the device ( i am not sure this will matter for me that much seen as the Orbit is fairly new and they probably dont have an upgrade for the firmeware yet but for future reference it would be helpfull to know ?

With regards to overclocking have a look here and here but make sure that you read the literature thoroughly.
With regards to firmware I would suggest doing some reading on this Forum. I use the stock o2 Mini S ROM and have no problems with it. I have stripped all the o2 stuff out. A lot of people use custom 'cooked' ROMs, many of which may be found within the FTP. It's not something that has concerned me as I have no problems with the ROM I am using. If it ain't broke, don't fix.

custom rom, root, ... general questions

right now i got a branded sensation. so far im quite satisfied with it. the only thing is, i would be glad to get root f.e. to get to the database file for the sense weather to add new locations.
for me i dont really need any custom rom by now. its my first android device and as said i like sense so far.
as i read through here, i think the problem for now is to get root on the device. if this would be possible, flashing new roms would be possible right?
so my question is:
is it more problematic to get root or to get a new rom? if htc will open the bootloader, will it be possible to get sense with root automaticlly? or is it still needed to find a way to get root in htc roms?
in custiom roms there should be no problem to get root right?
sorry if this all sounds lame or something but as said, this is my first android device. it try to read as much as i can

i dont wann know how to do such things as by now it isnt possible. i just want to know if there will be unlocked bootloader, is it automaticly possible to get a root enabled stock rom?
or do we still need another way to get root on stock roms?

No. Unlocked bootloader will not automatically mean you'll get root. It's only a way for us to get root by another software running in the backround..
HTC already confirmed an unlocked bootloader in the near future..
For an offtopic discussion, custom roms will allways be better as they have no bloatware and includes tweaks to lots of stuff like ram management, oc kernels, gfx patches, deodexed and so on...
I hope this answered your question and please try to be nice on the forums.. people tend to reply nicer that way...

I'll be nice, right now you will have to wait till the update comes out from HTC. Theres no other way right now. But next time please use the search button

so isnt there a way to modify android and/or sense to get root on the stock fw? thought both are open source.

Android really isnt fully Open Source, HTC Sense and their phones aint Open Source.. Even if it is running Android in the bottom, HTC owns Sense UI.
The bootloader is pretty much locking you untill it gets hacked or HTC releases its opened one..

You labeled the topic GENERAL questions, but didn't see fit to place it in the GENERAL or Q&A forum?

SSPL (HD Mini) ws SPL (HD Mini) ws HSPL (HD2 Leo)

Guys I succesfully dumped Cotulla dft sspl hd mini bootloader from ram, hex compared it, ida pro compared also (I see in asm all modifications, I see deleted parts of spl in sspl, but I am not an expert in asm) so I waiting an developer who is good in asm to enable spl uploading to nand from sspl! Here is all you need: (spl is original hd mini bootloader, sspl is modified hd mini bootloader but sspl is able only to flash rom and not spl "Cotulla disabled that option!"). There is raw dump and raw dump in hex and there is an hard spl hspl from htc hd2 leo dumped directly from memory! Also there is sspl.exe (from there I dumped sspl) extracted from Cotulla dft sspl hd mini (run from winCe - you will see 3 color screen - temporaly super cid enabled bootloader!)
I tried all to get writing to memory region (spl region in nand) but absolutely no way to write to that memory region, so I stoping here all my developments ...I want to say you GOOD LUCK with our phone ...goodbye guys

1.Have you compared mini with wildfire S ?
I think maybe the bootloader in wildfier S may indicate something.
2.maybe we need sometool like RSA(motorola) to crack the spl.
why don't you work with robin schlund and other devs?

Well... they're hidden often times (not always), but I wish they need some help of us....
I don't know what they're doing with the project.. I saw the Issues page, but in what stage.. it looks like isn't up to date.. don't know..
I liked to know how they're now.. do they need any help us.. or something another else?

they are not hidden,they are just not this kind of developers which says "i think i fixed this and that"(and finally it wasn't) ..they will post fixes(tested fixes) and releases,and also answering and supporting their releases.
When a fix will be done they will post about it,don't worry
As about help..i don't think you have the knowledge to help them..do you know how to unlock bootloader,how to fix video,etc?

Well, of course this is good working when fixing exactly. and I would just like to know how is their works going? (going good? hard? slow? fast? amazing? needing any help)?.. anyway .
they should talk more (if possible), not only when new fixes releases.

Hi, im kinda new here on xda, so go easy on me.....
I bought a Denver Tablet TAD 97052
9.7'' (24cm) tablet with 1.5 GHz dual-core processor
1GB of DDR RAM memory
8GB memory (expandable)
Android 4.0
I was wondering if there is a way to root it and if there is any custom rom available for it.
Ive searched the whole forum and didnt find anything related...

I also have this tablet and found that there is a lack of information regarding CWM installation and Roms (official and custom ones).
I read on another forum that someone managed to install a cyanogenmod on it...

But its too risky to be doing experiments on it.... :silly:

Now we have been waiting a bit time now seens lineageOS took a broke out with there officical-rom..
I was woundering if somebody had the time to port a rom..? im runin a 7.1.1 ATM but , not good nothing works , Camara not working - minor bugs really dont know anything about it..
?
But was woundering mabey if LineageOS them self would port a to the 10¨1..? Any body that would love this to?

To answer your question: I would not love it, devs get really fast old while reading on XDA threads
