I upgraded my GTablet with a "leaked" version of the new software upgrade but now I want to update to the "official" version. Unfortunately my device won't recognize that there is an update available even when I run the updates app to look for one.
Is anyone else having this problem? Any solutions?
I hear VS may be making a recovery image available for those who have modded their GTab's beyond repair...but in the meantime, I'm curious how others are addressing this issue.
If the leaked version was the 3389 update then that is the official version. Otherwise I believe their official website has the 3389 update.
This is a link to the 3389 update that Roebeet posted

I had been unable to get OTA updates since Nov 19. I read on another thread how a user downloaded the 3053 update manually and then his OTA started working again. So I gave it a try and sure enough it fixed my problem. In fact I have gone back to this version twice just to reset my G-Tab to stock. I have not mod'd my unit. I have flash, market and Rothnic enhancement pack.
Hope this helps
Roebeet listed all of the official TNT downloads here.

*rothnic has a new enhancement pack v2 that will not erase your stock files. It will increase the speed a little bit..
So I am still on 2.3.1 and today I got the message that I had an OTA available. I tried to install it and my phone rebooted and everything but when it was trying to come back on it just showed the android guy with the white triangle and exclamation mark over his head, and it wouldnt do anything else. I had to power off my phone. Now that it is back on, it still shows that it is at 2.3.1.
I am rooted, but no roms or kernels or anything is installed. How can I get that OTA back so that I dont have to manually update it myself? Did this happen because I am rooted? What could I have done differently so next OTA works?
Hmmm... not the first time I hear this happen. I actually don't know what could cause OTA update to fail. Unless you find out what prevented the update, you may need to update manually this time.
When you see that triangle screen again, press Power + Volume Up, then select install zip and point it to the update zip file. It may fail to update again, which I suspect it could mean the wrong OTA file is downloaded. In order to apply a incremental update, you need to apply 2.3.1 -> 2.3.2 -> 2.3.3 -> 2.3.4 updates. If your phone is stupid and downloaded 2.3.4 update, then it would fail. In that case, you have to download the 2.3.4 full ROM and apply manually.
Hello everybody, before all, I hope there isn't a thread already with this topic, if there is, my apologies.
I have an european (ww) stock rom Transformer on 3.1, I did the first update (3.0 to 3.1) manualy, it worked great, but now, its been since the 3rd of august (OTA 3.2 release date in France) that I've been waiting for my tranformer to receive the OTA, but it just won't.
I've tried to push the "search for update" button thousand times and reboot it almost everyday since then without result.
Do someone have had the same problem and solve it?
By the way, I don't have the keyboard dock yet; doest it play a role in my problem?
I bought my transformer 2 weeks ago i was in 3.1 and i had the update to 3.2 as soon my tab was connected on wifi. But i have the dock.
Are you sure that you never rooted your tab?
You can also ask asus france on their facebook page.
Yes I'm positive, unless the manual 3.0 to 3.1 update implied to root. But I'm quite sure it doesn't.
Apparently you are only offered the update once, if it fails it wont offer it again unless you delete a certain file
Not sure which one it is, but a factory reset should sort it if you can cope with wiping it
that's the odd thing, I wasn't offered it even once. I will search for the file you mentioned and in last ressort, go for a factory reset. But honestly I would prefer not to go that far. That's why I asked for other solutions.
Tried updated manually? ie downloading update from
http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=Eee+Pad+Transformer+TF101&p=20&s=16
I've tried it too, I've followed the steps, I've put the "asus" folder on a micro sd card, put it in my transformer, but it did not detect the update, I've tried different ways to put the update folder on the sd card so that the tablet can find the update, but still, it didn't work. I just can't figure out why it doesn't want to update.
Thanks for your clues anyway, I will keep searching for a solution or a way to make this manual update...
If I find the thread with the location of the offending file, I`ll update this thread with it
Thanks, it will be very helpfull

You may already know about this forum, but Im beginning to wonder if the posts I am remembering are infact here

Great place either way
Yes great place indeed, i'll try to find it there
I had a similar issue. The tablet update section said 'There is an update available. Please check notifications'. The search for updates button was therefore greyed out. However, nothing ever appeared in the notifications.
I updated manually in the end. However, the update section remains the same: Telling me there is an update and not allowing me to check for any further updates. I'd really like to get this functionality working again.
OK can you please tell me wich folder did you put on the micro sd card for the tablet to detect the update?
Seagle77 go to settings/applications/manage applications/all and scroll down to DMClient click on it and hit clear data and clear catche if i remember right thats what i cleared when the ota failed to install for the first time, once you clear it u might have to restart but it should show you the ota notifiction after that, hope it helps.
V.
I tried it, but after the reboot, there is still no notification of the OTA and nothing more on the update menu.
Update.zip file you downloaded for manual update should go under /removable/microsd/update.zip try placing it there and seeing if u get the notification after a reset , if not then try booting into stock recovery and starting the update from there using update.zip
I've downloaded a file nammed "UpdateLauncher_WW_epaduser8659.zip" on asus website. Do I have to rename it before put it on the micro sd card, or leave it like this?
Ok, problem solved here, someone told me to check the update version on "transformerforum", and the origin of the bug was my first manual update, were I used the US update, istead of WW version.
Therefore, I just needed to update with the US 3.2 file and it worked perfectly.
Thanks for the help given here. Have a good one everybody
Enjoy 3.2 !
Hello all,
I've read that there is a 2.3.6 update for the AT&T Skyrocket. I don't have this latest update and still have Android version 2.3.5. I also hate the check for update on this phone. Unlike other phones I've had like HTC and on other carriers, I can check for updates anytime I want. Here, I can only check once and it will tell me to check again in 24hrs. WTF???
I keep running it every day but it does not find the OTA update.
My phone is rooted...
Thanks,
--mike
have you read around on the forums? the update was pulled and/or only available to select IMEIs...
there is no OTA update as of this moment. if you want to move to 2.3.6, flash a rom. otherwise, sit tight
Hello my name is Unicorn, I did a forum search to see if my particular scenario has been addressed before but did not find anything (perhaps because of my choice of search keywords, I'm not sure.) I made some mistakes and was hoping a more informed member can assist me in remedying my errors. Here is the situation as of currently:
1. I purchased a Verizon SGS3 (SCH-i535) back in December 2012, and was able to root it successfully using the method in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1875914
2. I flashed Synergy ROM (Synergy_d2vzw_02Dec12_2021_r125_s.zip) so my custom binary count is thus far 1.
3. I began having some trouble with Synergy ROM around the time that Verizon deployed their Stock Jellybean OTA update (the "Limit Mobile Data Usage" and "Use Mobile Data" toggle check boxes disappeared from the settings menu which is unusual because I did NOT opt to accept the OTA update.)
4. Rather than trying to manually diagnose why the check box toggles were then missing, I decided merely to Restore my CWMR Recovery Image in order to bring myself back to the modded stock rom (effectively putting me back in the position that I was in after step 1 but before step 2 mentioned above.)
5. Returning to the modded stock rom brought back the toggles as desired, however since the rom was ICS 4.0.4 I was still persistently receiving the nag message asking me download and install the OTA Jellybean update (which I deferred.)
6. This morning the deferment date lapsed, which prompted my phone to restart and boot back in to CWMR 6.0.1.0 where I was asked to confirm whether CWMR should flash the update package.
7. I mistakenly chose to apply the update because I was disoriented due to having just recently awoken, and because I had already hit the home button I allowed the update to proceed (I didn't want to pull the battery part-way through the flash for fear that it would somehow brick my phone.)
8. There were 2 other prompts that appeared during this process, the first one telling me that the update might install stock recovery and the second one informing me that root might be lost (even though I chose the menu options that should have prevented these occurrences from happening it would appear that they in fact still took place because when I attempted to boot back in to CWMR from the EZ-Recovery 2.0 menu I was confronted with the screen telling me that I had unauthorized software and should see a Verizon representative to fix it.
9. After powering down I was able to boot back in to Android after which I found that the "About Phone" section reported an incremental update to Android 4.1.1 so it would appear that the OTA installed partially (even though I'm still getting the notification telling me I need to download the update.)
Basically I just want to return my device to unrooted stock so that I can start fresh then re-root later, but I'm not sure what the best method to use is because I'm not certain if the device is still rooted at this point.
