4MB SD memory card

My Qtek 9000 cannot recognize 4GB SD card (DANE-ELETC)
Your help much appreciated.

I guess you mean 4Gb SD Card.
Is it SDHC?
If so, then it would be worth looking in the Universal accessories board at what people have to say, which is 'no' for the sdhc cards.
I bought a 4 Gb card but it is a non-sdhc type so that it would work.

I can't seem to find the manufacturer's website. Can you post the the spec sheet of the model you have got?

Yes is a SDHC, So the qtek 9000 need a non=sdhc type 4Gb Card.

Exactly...I'm using a 4Gb transcend non-HC and it's works find ...!! I heard about problems concerning the SDHC for the universal... Maybe you should change your SD

Transcend 4GB 'SD' card getting corrupted repeatedly
I have one annoying problem,It is the third time that my Transcend 4GB SD card got corrupted without any reason ( as far as I know ).
It goes like this --I just moved one .jpg image ( clicked with my Universal ) from main memory to card -- a my document--my pictures folder,then I checked it ,the entire my document folder is empty..around 150 MB.No data recovery tool can retrieve it.
The default file explorer and Resco explore read the card differently --950 Mb and 1100 MB respectively.The data is gone,the space 150 MB is gone.On previous two occasions,there was not any transfer of any data from device to card yet it happened .I had the card replaced,but it is very annoying to live in this impending possibility of losing the data.
What is the cause of this problem?WM6?Universal?ROM?4GB?Transcend?
I never had this problem with 1 GB cards.What is the solution?Please suggest something,anything.

There are a couple of WM6 roms which can corrupt your SD card.
But it shouldn't make a difference if you have a 512 mb card or 4 gb.
Did you upgrade to WM6 and then got the 4gb card?
You could try to flash back to the original wm5 rom from your manufacturer, good change the problem's gone then.

I did have this problem with WM5 and to get rid of it I shifted to WM6,but the problem persists.Other people with WM5/6 with 'NCP' 4GB are doing fine,I am also going to try it.Like I said I never had any problems with 1GB.
I like the HTML mail support in WM6 and I need it for the attachments so I'd rather keep WM6.
One more thing, the file explorer SOMETIMES shows two separate folders viz. storage card 1 & storage card 2, and in storage card 1 there are only files called mail attachments.At the same time all the today shortcuts and programmes on the card are 'uninstalled',Then I have to hard reset and install the back-up file and everything comes to normal.What does it mean?Please clarify.

This is a known issue. Sometimes the system forgets about the exixstence of SD card. You can brows here for such cases. People claim that it happens while the battery goes low or for some other reason.
However, if this happens, and some of your apps are set up for using Storage Card for saving it's data, then the system creates a folder named "Storage Card" in the main memory. Then if you softreset or recharge your device, the system finds again your SD card and tries to give it a name "Storadge Card", but this already exists, so it names it as "Storadge Card1", and so on.
Solution:
Ither delete the "Storage Card" folder from main memory or rename it as you wish, and then rename your card as "Storage Card" and softreset your device. It should help.

Okay,
Thanks for explaining and the simple solution.
But a soft reset doesn't solve it,reinstalling the backup(I use SPB)does.
But what about the card getting corrupted,losing data and vanishing folders?Is there any cause and solution for it? Or should I go for another card manufacturer as decided?

SDHC start at 2gb, you have a normal SD.
Native universal SD driver does not support SDHC, the driver ignores CMD8 that is required for SDHC to work. I've purchased 8Gb card and can tell that after patching - Uni started to recognize it. But testing is required before publishing a patch.

goldcard creation not working multiple cards

Hello all. I am trying this on a Windows Vista ultimate 32 bit and with multiple cards and have not got a "succesful" one yet. The cards i have tried:
1gb SanDisk class 2
1gb transcend class 2
256 stock card from a blackberry
8gb adata class 6
8gb transcend class 6
2gb kingston and none of the cards seems to have work
tried using a built in sd card read and from the device and neither would work.
for example on the 2gb kingston
I formated with windows to fat32 defaults for everything else
i got the cid which was 02544d534430324738ab7b968d009178 right from mytouch screen.
i used qmat to reverse the cid and got 7891008d967bab3847323044534d5402
so the one I should put in to the site should be 0091008d967bab3847323044534d5402 right?
submited that number for goldcard.img
opened image with hex editor and then card thru the card reader in hex editor with read only uncheck. copied the first 0 to 170 offsets and overwrote the actual disk and saved those changes. Everytime then I removed the card and put back in it asked to format the card. and when I do it from the device and unplug the USB cable it says the sd card is blank or not using a supported format. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong. I think I followed the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4289899&postcount=1 to the T and with all these cards something else has to be wrong.
If anyone can tell me what I am messing up it would be greatly appreciated

When you run the Hex editor program are you right-clicking and selecting Run as Administrator? If not, try doing that and report back the results. Also, are you copying "up TO 170" or "up THROUGH 170", complety overwriting the 170 line of data? The instructions worked for me using a 2GB Samsung microSD and a memory card reader built into my printer.

Yeh I am doing thru the 0170 not stopping at the beginning. Not doing run as admin but I have uac turned off but I will try that and report back.

copied over the hex in admin mode to disk after a fresh format at the start of the process remove and reinsert and did the same thing

When you open the drive in HxD, make sure you open the phyiscal drive and not the logical drive. The physical drives are on the bottom.

You got me. Doing logical disk not physical disk. Seems like it was a go downloading r3 sdk and will try the rest tomorrow.

I also had the same problem until I opened up the HEX editor as Administrator then under the physical drives select your mem. card and do the regular steps of copy and past.
This solved my problem and I hope it solves the problems you all are having.

Can not see SD card *SOLVED*

Hello i Have a (HTC clone NT901??). I had to do a Hard reset, and after that i can't access the storage card. I have included some pictures.
As you can see SKtools detect the card, but not Windows 6.1.
I have tried other Sd cards with no results.
Note that i did not have any SD-card in my phone when the picture with expansion slot "Not in use" was taken.
Maybe someone has a bright idea what the problem might be.
Forgive my english, i'm Swedish.
I'm sorry if this is not the right forum for this ,but i don't know where else i would put it.

*SOLVED* Bad soldering in SD-SLOT. Now the card work like a charm.

Check if the pins in the card reader are making contact with the SD card. I had the exact same problem with an iPAQ 210. I couldn't find any way to fix it, not hard resets or anything. Eventually the problem went away on its own(after a month or so). Hope yours eventually starts to work, sorry I couldn't be more help.

DisMountSdcard.exe???
I have looked in the windows directory an found a file called DisMountSdcard.exe
What is that? I have googled it but it did not find any answers. Someone?
I have looked in the registry to find if the exe loads but it don't.
It can't be deleted and says it is writeprotected.

Does the card work in another mobile or PC?
Might there be a problem with the partition or filesystem?
In windows desktop version hard drives are sometimes visible by programs but not windows. That suggest that the filesystem is currupt. Not shure how this works with flashcards and winmo.

Can somebody explain too me how it's possible for SKTools to see the card (only in SD information though), but not by WM 6.1.
I think it's the drivers ieg sdbus.dll or sdhc.dll, sdmemory.dll but i have tried to exchange them to others without results.

I have now tested my card in my son's Touch Viva (yes it works there) and i have attached the picture in SKtools. You can compare and maybe advice me what to do.
The first picture is with card in Viva, and second from card in my phone.

Seems that no one is interested in this.

I just ran out of ideas.
If the card works in other computers or phones the card is ok.
If your phone can´t read ANY cards then the problem is your phone.
The next step is to find out if its a hardware or software problem.
It would be good to back up your phone and do a reinstall with a known good ROM. If that fails, then there is something wrong with your hardware. Have you tried cleaning the card slot?

I have cleaned the slot. One thing i don't understand is that SKtools detects the card in SD information as you can see here. If it was a hardware fault it wouldn't be detected att all.

So are you 100% sure that´s the issue (ie. the soldering). If so, great news.

Well after i resolded the microsmall contacts it's working perfectly again. No problems att all with my 4gb SD-card.
Annoying though,but if you buy a chinese mobile maybe you can expect this.
Otherwise i love the phone. It has all the features i want and more, and is nice looking. Internal GPS,WIFI,3,2MP Camera etc.

I've seen questions similar to mine here but no answers so, at the risk of being repetitive, here's the problem that I would very much appreciate help with.
I have a new SGT 7.7 running ICS which can't be rooted so what seems to be the standard response to getting the Tab to recognize the micro SD card (in this case a 32GB Samsung Class 10 SDHC) doesn't apply. The card has been reformatted to FAT32 but I still the message, "The device does not have a real primary external storage, or the primary external storage is emulated. Moving app to SD function may not be supported by this device." The only thing that does show up on the SD card is a wallpaper butterfly I downloaded, but no apps, even those purported to be able to be moved. The move to SD card option never appears.
Kies for Mac is on my iMac and I've moved a few songs from iTunes onto it and it appears they are now on the card. However, the music does not appear anywhere on the Tab so the card is still not being recognized.
I'm totally frustrated and at wit's end. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong or need to do to fix this so that I can move suitable apps, music, and photos onto the card?

First thing first... Ofcourse u can root yr P6800 w ICS. Read the universal root thread
Then hopefully Yr dilemma is solved. FYI, moving apps to SD not supported on p6800.

if you want to use app2sd software... it wont work on 6800...

No, I can't root the tablet. I'm a 67 yr. old Android novice and doing this on my old Mac is beyond my ability. I've seen nowhere that I can have it done. Also, the third direction says, "Put the created folder at your External Micro SDcard." As you noted, the SD card can't be used. Finally, the tablet is now back in Hong Kong for repair -- defective battery. Thanks anyway.

You can put the zip in internal SD. It still works.

That's interesting. I know what an external SD (card) is and what internal memory is but I've never heard of internal "SD."
What is it; where is it; and how do you put zips into it? I'm afraid there's more to this tablet than I'll ever master. Maybe
when it gets back from Hong Kong I should just send the Tab to you to root and do whatever with. How's that sound? LOL

Help reading miniSD card formatted with MotoQ9m

Desperate/long shot here. I have a miniSD card that was used in my MotoQ9m years ago. This card may have some photos of our daughter (now deceased) and I want to know if any devs know of a program that will open this card in Win 7.

You don't need any program, if it's a mini SD card as long as you have the slot to plug it into your computer Win 7 will be able to read it like a USB.

Normally you don't need any special program, only a usb card reader (if you don't have a card reader already in your computer).
If your reader is for normal SD only, you can buy an adapter for it. It's cheap.
If you already tried this without luck, it means your card is probably corrupted.
There are specialized companies for that, where they can get data form the card even when the hardware itself is bad. That's a most expensive solution though... I just mention it first, because other methods can make the situation worst, removing even this possibility...
In the 90% of the cases you have data corruption, but otherwise the card is fine. Then you can try some software yourself:
The first is GetDataBack. It saved me at least 4 times in the last 10 years. It will try to reconstruct the whole filesystem. It won't write the sdcard, but in case of success you can copy your files to your computer easily.
It's not free, but you can try the free version, which can show you if it can find the files, the paid version needed only for the actual copying.
And there is PhotoRec.
It won't try to reconstruct the whole filesystem, but tries to find the files in the raw data. It can recognize more than 440 file formats, so it should find your images if there are any...
