Easter Egg image a hidden insult? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm sure I'm reading too much into it but I looked at the Easter egg image a few minutes ago and the first thing that pops in my head when looking at it is a bunch of mindless zombies on cell phones being dominated/controlled by the evil android gingerbread.
What do you see when you look at it? A hidden insult/inside joke perhaps from the developers?

I certainly don't take it as some kind of hidden insult. It's creepy, but I don't take it personally.

I don't feel personally insulted either but when I was trying to make sense of the image that's all I could come up with

I was so deeply insulted, I am now suing Google...
I am sorry but how you could even find this insulting is beyond me. However, if this were really true, props to you cause I have always found it to be a charming picture. I don't know what it means but it says who made it as soon as the image pops up, you could maybe find the guy and ask him what inspired him to do such an image.

Yeah I wonder what the inspiration was. I work in IT and there are always inside jokes about end users that have a similar ring to it. Perhaps that is why I saw it how I did. Its a cool image either way lol

I never thought of that! That could very well be it. Much more likely than the way I first interpreted it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one.
After getting harassed by Best Buy for trying to exchange my Nexus S for the third time, I couldn't help but remember this picture and feel like Google thinks I am nothing more than a mindless zombie. It's like they feel I'm a simpleton who will buy any Android phone that bears the name "Nexus", even if it's built out of the cheapest, easiest to scratch plastic Korea can find.

Nah, those mindless zombies wear something look like "Geek Squad" uniform, what phone for geek?

You guys can find this guy on Facebook all his art is like this and for sale.
I personally love his art and I think it makes my nexus s 1,000 times better

my interpretation is like this
the Green Android dude summons the Gingerbread daemon to exterminate all the iPhone zombies to save planet earth.
if you look at the Android guy it has the cool eyes look
and the Gingerbread summon is in fighting stance
... that's just me, but i'm pretty sure the original artist had the same idea in mind

How did you guys find this lol?

[App] vLauncher Home Replacement

with some trimming up, smoothing out and speeding up, this iPhone-like home launcher could make it to the top of the list quickly. I think it needs some help when it comes to the window animations and it shouldn't rotate into landscape unless the phone has a physical keyboard. 3 and 1/2 stars. Check it out. It's kinda cool.

BumpTop

Okay, so.... Apparently, Google purchased this startup.

So what's up... !?
Did they acquire this so as to use it in a future release?
I, for one... Would LOVE to have such an immersive launcher.
Thoughts?
I remember this. Bumptop was pretty cool. I was excited to see it show up in one of Google's products but am disappointed to not see it anywhere yet. It would be a shame if they gobbled it up to never even use the tech.

Google is readying a Siri rival called Majel

This is supposed to be Google's answer to Siri Apple's iPhone 4gs favorite.
TECHNOLOGY GIANT Google is apparently working on a Siri rival that is called Majel and could be released this year.
The voice recognition software has been named after Majel Barrett-Roddenberry who voiced the computer in Star Trek. There isn't much of 2011 left but it could be released before the year is up.

That is an extremely confusing article. For example:
I have had the chance to interact with the robot personally and it is honestly the most amazing thing that I have ever seen. I like to think of it like Stephen Hawking because it is extremely smart and you can interact with it naturally, but it is incapable of physically doing much.

That makes it sound like an actual physical entity rather than a software solution. I think what happened is Goog is working on two separate projects and this article combined them.

From a business standpoint It doesnt really matter logically whats so great about it. What matters is that it can be marketed and it sells. And it does.

Majhong
Other than the New York Times article, is there any reason to believe it would be out before the New Year? I would absolutely love an early build, but if it means taking another month to work the kinks out and release a solid product I would prefer that.
Also, Majel's voice would be great but I think I would choose HAL's if I had the option.
This wouldn't rival Siri, it would be significantly different in that it would integrate with our phones and its applications.
Google voice command is sufficient to me. I used Sirius and its the same but Sirius has a personality gimmick.
Edit. Sorry Siri ...autocorrect

While I am happy that someone is fighting back against Apple, and am defenately on Googles side on that one, I am asking myself where all of these trends are leading.
Instead of being concerned about User satisfaction and service, companies seem to tend more and more towards monopolizing and trying to get features from other devices and applications, instead of just leading onward and trying to get the best product.
I think a little competition goes a long way in increasing development, and history has shown in many cases that certain developments are being made by different parties independantly once their time has come.
In the end I believe that no matter who wins or loses the lawsits, if this trend goes on the way it does, the only one losing out will be the users.
I just see a much brighter future with companies supporting and encouraging eachother, instead of fighting.
After all, theres enough money, users and applications for everyone.

That is what everyone EXCEPT for Apple wanted. But, someone has to fight back. One of the main reasons Samsung lost the case is that they spent most of their time on defense. Apple has spent so much time playing offense, let's see how they fair when the tables are turned. And that article hardly goes into what the case is really for. Ya that's true! I honestly think that the reason why apple had that law suite was because they are scared of android and the popularity of it. Apple wants to be at the top of the market and bringing google down is in there agenda IMO. I just hope that this dosent turn into law suite after law suite, then it would make both companies look bad and nothing would get done. I think google should take on apple and do what they have to do and put an end to this mess
I'm definitely on Google side...
