Anyone know a good place to get one of these? (I live in New Zealand) I have been checking Amazon, price seems high but perhaps is my only option.
Thanks,

[Q] Does anyone can give me information about this tablet?

So this monday i went to my local sams's club and found these new tablets beign sold there for a really REALLY cheap price ($2,000 Pesos, like 140 USD).
The thing is, i can't seem to find any information about this tablet, even in their official site: http://www.sharperimage.com/
Does anyone knows about it?
I'm kinda lost and don't want to buy something just to find out that is really crappy and can't mod it or something (My main attraction to Android devices).

[Q] Where to buy cheap tablet accessories

[Q] Importing a TF700 to the UK - I've Never Imported Before!

Hi,
I really want a TF700, but the UK price is ridiculous, and I don't want/need the 64GB.
So, although the idea terrifies me, I want to import one. Can anyone help with a few questions, please? (I know some of these can be answered elsewhere, but I thought I'd throw them in while I was asking the main one about importing. Sorry).
If the tablet comes with 4.0, will I, from the UK, be able to get an automatic, official upgrade to Jelly Bean? (If not, I'm happy to go custom, which I've done on a couple of phones)
Do I need a fancy power adaptor, or will the bog standard US to UK ones work just fine?
If I get one without the dock, can I use the dock from anything else in the same line?
When importing, say I do it through eBay (a decent, well reseached seller, such as BuySpry, perhaps), are there any other potential hidden charges other than the price and the stated shipping cost?
And finally, can anyone recommend where to import one from (to the UK)?
I'm very grateful for any advice. Thanks.

Hi bought my tf700 tablet from the US on Ebay, it took about 3days to arrive at DHL in the Midlands. DHL phoned me to advise me that I had to pay the duty which was about 62 pounds. I also bought a charger on Ebay for about 12 pounds. You can also use the US charger I plugged it in to a travel adapter. I have done all the Asus updates on my tablet with out any problems at all.
I believe the tf201 keyboard/dock is the same as the one for the tf700
I imported mine from Amazon Germany. Weirdly it was dispatched from Milton Keynes in 2 days. Stickers had German on though when unpacked but fired up in English straight away.
I didn't have to pay any duty and with the euro exchange rate at the time I saved a bit of cash as well. :good:
I just bought a travel plug adapter for the power pack and it works fine.
Thanks, both. Hadn't thought of Germany. Hmmm...

[Q] What's with the different box designs? B01 on the newer looking box, maybe?

Hello guys!
I'm planning to buy Shield Tablet as a multi-purpose media device. I also know all about the battery-related recall done last year.
There's this local online buy and sell store here in our country and I found someone who's selling the older model (the one with built in stylus) for a really good deal. Item's still in sealed box, never opened, and was given to him as a gift and he doesn't need it (at least that's what he said). I'm really rooting for the stylus that's why I don't really like the newer K1 in which I still have to buy the stylus separately and worry about where to put it when not in use.
Now here's the problem: the box of the Shield he's selling seems to be different from what you can commonly see on tech blogs and unboxing videos or even in Google image searches. Please refer to photos below (credits to whoever uploaded these photos). The one on the left is the 'common' box and the one on the right is the look of the unit's box he's selling. QUESTION: What's the difference between the two? Could it be possible that the one with the 'newer' looking design has the updated B01 battery and not the older Y01?
Please help! This is a really good deal and I don't want to pass up on it. Besides, I can't find a single Shield Tablet in malls around my city and this local online store is the only place I have found to have the Shield in stock.
Please help, guys! Will be waiting!
The Lollipop looking box (newer/second) has better odds of containing a B01. All of the B01* units I have originated in boxes like that. I only have a box for one of the 2 Y01 units and it looks like the older box (KitKat looking).
Personally I am partial to the Y01 units at the moment, and probably will be more-so once I've replaced the batteries in the Y01 units I have.
I may feel better about the B01* units when I've found a way to get reliable WiFi on every reboot. NOTE: I have no units that show as pure B01, only B01*

Is it worth buying an old 32GB Shield?

Hi,
I am looking for a shield tablet but confused about the battery problem. I found one used here for about 150 € and not sure if I should buy it. If I turn it on and IT gets disabled by nvidia, can i reactivate it? Or van I just install a custom rom before and be happy with the tablet?
Thanks!
I bought an 32Go and the battery is an B01*, so no problem, ask to the seller if the battery is an Y01* (check in the settings) and if yes don't buy it.
No, if it is y01 just make sure they haven't done the recall yet. If not, you get a brand new one and get to keep the old.
I would not buy if is already recalled, at least not for that much. Maybe $50 us at most.
Not for $150. You can get a new one for $200.
