I am trying to edit an existing project, but I am somewhat stumped. The existing project has options to make it rain, however I want to hide those settings in my new project. I've been working on this for about two weeks and can't seem to find out how to do it. If anyone here can help me I will appreciate it.
In settings.xml, next to ListPreference I've put in android:invisible, but the menu item is still viewable when I test the app on my phone. What else do I need to do? Does anyone know?

My company use a product called onebridge to allow me to access my Lotus Notes email. It has an icon in the top bar (used to show status of the connection to onebridge) which is midly annoying but I can't seem to get rid of it.
More annoying than that is that it when it is there, it changes the 'action' softkey to be 'notification' about onebridge.
Does anyone know a simple way that I can try and stop this happening as I'd love to get back to the action option?????
Guess I'm looking for a registry tweak or something.
Help !
think people think that the registry have more power then it have
reg changes only do anything if the programmers desided to put
a key there to let the user change it
a programmer can deside not to check any registrys in wm at all
and it's often put on the NTH (nice to have)sheet not a big priority
Just in case anyone has the same issue, once onebridge is loaded on, you deleted the shortcut in the windows/startup folder - sorry forgot what it was called now but had ob & push in it if i remember right
Hi, I'm also using OneBridge on Kaiser - could you help me with the issues described in this thread?

I posted this last week over in software but didn't get any responses. I'm sure someone here knows the deal.
How do I change the icon of a particular shortcut or folder?
Preferably I would like to be provided:
1) The underlying method - registry keys, etc?
2) How you would code this into a ROM - so if I wanted a new folder created in Start\Programs and i wanted to assign it a custom icon.
3) Any tool that will do this for you on the fly on the phone.
thanks.
The only method I know for making a custom icon for a folder I outlined here:

Hope it helps.
Thats what I think I need. I'll look through the CAB to get the details later. Thanks though!
Hi everyone,
I pulled the Browser.apk off my phone because I want to do a simple edit to the menu. I opened up the .apk to take a look and saw the xml files. That made me think what I wanted to do would be easy. NOT !
All I'm wanting to do it take the menu and change the useless "Goto URL" menu button and change it to a "Home" button. Since all you have to do is start typing to go to any URL, that button is sitting there wasting space and could be put to better use (at least for me).
Would that be possible?
Can someone tell me how to start?
Thanks.
Well if there were no physical keyboard (magic) there's no way to go to a web page besides that button. I suggest, if you ever plan on updating to 1.5 or any future build with a soft keyboard, then you should leave it like it is.
BTW the xml files are compiled somehow.

if you want to change the function of some button, you'll have to change the source and compile yourself.
Thanks everyone.
This looks like a good exercise that will help me learn a bit.
I might give it a try (keeping the original for future upgrades).
Thanks again. Now I'm off to figure out the first steps
Hi XDA and S6 Users
I'm wondering if anyone knows how to customise the share menu, I cant find any options that control this, and google didn't return anything useful.
This is the menu that appears when you click 'share' and it returns a list of various app options to choose from to send/share your document files, your images, your music files etc.
Ideally I'd like to remove some of the share options that appear and where possible reorder those that remain as I've now got 5 pages of different share option apps listed.
Can anyone help ?
Hi there! I'm currently using a custom ROM on my J7 2015. (DNAZero to be precise). However, I'm looking for a way to modify the Quick Settings Panel, given there are two functions that don't work, (see screenshot). These two functions are Always on Display and Blue Light Filter. What I want to do is remove them completely, or at least disable them from appearing in the QS Panel.
I've already decompiled System UI using Apktool, but I don't know which files to modify. I know it has to be in the Resources Folder (res), but I don't know which subfolder I have to get into. Does anybody have an idea? Thanks for any response.
