[Q] ADW Themes on LauncherPro - General Questions and Answers

Hi, I recently switched to LauncherPro from the ADW Launcher and would like to know if there is any way to convert ADW Themes to work in conjunction with LauncherPro. I have become accustomed to the Nexus S Gingerbread theme for ADW and would like to keep this theme but use it for LauncherPro. Is there any way to do this or any Gingerbread themes for LauncherPro that are of the same quality as the ADW Nexus S Gingerbread Theme?

hello did you found how ?

the last version of LP can load ADW THEMES

No it can't. It allows theming of the LauncherPro Plus widgets. There are themes available in the market.

Which version of LPP? And where in Settings do you apply the ADW themes?
(from... Evo/MIUI/Tapatalk)

LauncherPro Plus v0.8.6
you have an option "Theme Settings"

Is there any reason why I can't find the update in the market or any info on the LP site? Hmmph.
I don't really care about the themes as I've themed MIUI so my icons are already as I want them to be and I'm using a dock that goes with my setup. I'm just confused because the market is showing that I'm up to date.
EDIT: Google taught me that it's a beta, not a full release. I just recently came back to LPP from ADW and I've seen a lot of improvements since I last used LP months ago. I still miss the hidden dock from ADW Ex, though.

confirmation on adw themes in lpp 0.8.6
I downloaded/installed "y0rk's Red ADW Theme" from the Android Market and selected "Preferences,Theme Settings,Icon Pack,y0rk's Red ADW Theme", which works for app drawer icons.
Brilliant.
But I could not apply these icons to the dock shortcuts, I assume because they are not in png format. I guess would need to extract them from y0rk's apk and convert from .ico to .png and put them in a directory on the sdcard.
Edit
No, they are all .pngs.
I don't think Android ecen uses .ico files anyway, does it?

Vanilla App Drawer?

I'm not sure if this is the name of the launcher, but which ROM's have the launcher in which the button to bring up the app drawer is in the bottom middle of the screen, and the button looks like a bunch of squares...sorry, not sure of its name. I think it may be the Nexus One launcher? Anyway, please ask questions if you don't understand what I'm talking about..

You're either talking about the Nexus Launcher or the Helix Launcher.

Is the Helix launcher the one that comes stock with non-Sense Android phones?
You should probably post this in the General section. Thats what its for...This has nothing to do with Development.

That thing your talking about is called a launcher. Htc launcher is rosie. Non sense launcher is called home or launcher, and there are few sweet ones to choose from(some have more screens and/or different features). Helix is 3rd party and does not come with the phone. N1/nexus launcher/ launcher2 is the launcher that comes with n1. The launcher youre talking about is prolly the nexus launcher (helix is 3rd party, but helix doesnt come with any rom unless its a mod). If you need that apk. look for launcher2.apk, and youll probably like helix too.
Search for ADWLauncher. It's a modified Helix launcher. I love it. I don't use the stock rosie anymore.

[Apps] Genie Widget and Launcher2 from Nexus One

Here are 2 apps that I love on my Nexus that also work on the Evo. Just install with an app like Astro from the SD card.
Download the Genie Widget here
Download the Launcher2 here
Launcher2 is already built into the EVO at launch.
so what is the genie widget?
The Genie Widget is the News & Weather application/widget that's originally for the nexus one. I really like it.

Or search google and find out how to disable sense UI then when you hit home it asks you which you'd like to use. But I'll point out that if he is pulling Launcher 2 from CM then it may do the 5 wide plus it had some fixes.
I too like the genie widget but is there ANY way to configure the way the widget looks? I'd really just like to make the background solid black and all the text white. Is this possible? Or make the background transparent and the text black. Either would be great.
My evo didn't come with genie widget. It did come with that news/rss reader that is very similar though. But I like the weather in genie widget a lot more because you are really only one click away from radar and can actually see details about the forecast from within the app. The one that comes with the clock kind of sucks. Just tells the highs and lows but with the genie widget weather you can see what time its going to start raining and stuff like that.

Do you still have this. i have a version of Launcher2 but it's the cube app drawer type and the ADW looking home screen dock. I prefer the older style and i'm wondering if this is indeed what im looking for.
Thanks

Tell us your ADW Launcher settings

please post your adw launcher settings . what u guys have it set to for smooth scrolling and better performance.
First of all I downloaded THEME ONE for it.
Second I checked in UI Settings LAB & RAB and Secondary Actionbuttons for in total 4 shortcuts in your dock.
Therefor you need to uncheck Desktop Dots in UI Settings (first option)
I also unchecked in Drawer Settings Horizontal Drawer, it runs much smoother vertically when you unchecked it.
At Swipe Down action in System Preferences I chose Open/Close Notifications, so you can hide/show your notificationbar easily.
Also I checked System Persistent.
Further on I made some icons for in the dock and add shortcuts with Bettercut (a must have app if you want to use your own icons)
Finally I made my own wallpaper combining two pictures in one for a "canvas at the wall" idea...
Result:
ADW Launcher with Theme One works for me very smooth and i doubt I will ever replace it by another launcher.
Cheers,
Arnold
Hi guys. What is the highest version of ADW that works with the X10.
( The market update doesnt work - only with 2.1 upwards ).I have 0.7.6 and cant seem to get to the themes menu to change eg. to adw theme one.
By the way does anyone have an apk for a better version of adw.
Thanks
I still use the 1.01 standalone donut and it's working good on the x10...

You'd be better off just playing about with the settings to get it how you want. I've only changed a couple of settings and left most of it stock.
LAB & RAB selected, hid the status bar, disabled the horizontal drawer, and changed the background colour of the drawer.
I also use a modded ThemeOne theme with Sticker album icons.

ICS Google Search Widget Theme - High Res/Universal

Hey guys, just wanted to share an ICS search widget mod that works perfectly on our Notes. (Gingerbread) I found this app on the market awhile back, but was pulled down for an unknown reason. I did not write this app & unfortunately I do not even know who to give credit to.
Either way, this is the best method I've found for getting a high res ICS themed search widget - the voice icon also works perfectly. Just install the APK as you would any other application (file manager, root explorer, etc) and the widget will show up in your widget menu.
Here is a screenshot and download link :

You'll need a launcher that allows you to resize widgets, otherwise it will be 4x1 like the stock widget. I use ADW EX w/ 6x1. I know Go Launcher, Launcher Pro, SPB shell 3d, and many others will allow you to resize it.

How did you get your dock to look like that? I have the background image and the ICS icons, however when I set the background that white line touches the top of the icons rather than there being a "gap" like there should be!
I use Kovdev's ICS theme which i believe works with ADW and Go launcher.
Just reporting it worked for me in my Ace...
Downloaded! Great share!!

Customize homescreen and still keep Sense

are there more people out there which prefere to use htc sense and still be able to customize?
I'm using Desktop visualizer but on my Sensation with sense, but what frustrates me is that my custom icons/images never are seemingless.
my question to you all is, what kinda apps do you use to customize your homescreen while using STOCK SENSE?
and is it possible to change the grid size from 4x4 to say 4x5 ?
Apps i use to customize:
Desktop Visualizer Android Market link
Application folder Application folder
Ok a few screens ive made using Desktop Visuliaer, and Simi folder.
Makes Sense very easy to customize, looks good i think.

It would be nice to postion the icons where you like, rather than be set to almost a grid with Sense.

Its Android ICS, and Sense 3.6. Using the Elegancia ICE rom.
There has been some amazing themes done to this rom, just check out the Elegancia ICS thread in the theme section.
I used a zip to make the dockbar transparent, same as the top bar. And then just rplaced the icons.
Just rember that ICS Sense dockbar is a lot diffrent to Gingerbread dockbar.
