I'm not sure if this is the name of the launcher, but which ROM's have the launcher in which the button to bring up the app drawer is in the bottom middle of the screen, and the button looks like a bunch of squares...sorry, not sure of its name. I think it may be the Nexus One launcher? Anyway, please ask questions if you don't understand what I'm talking about..

You're either talking about the Nexus Launcher or the Helix Launcher.

Is the Helix launcher the one that comes stock with non-Sense Android phones?
You should probably post this in the General section. Thats what its for...This has nothing to do with Development.

That thing your talking about is called a launcher. Htc launcher is rosie. Non sense launcher is called home or launcher, and there are few sweet ones to choose from(some have more screens and/or different features). Helix is 3rd party and does not come with the phone. N1/nexus launcher/ launcher2 is the launcher that comes with n1. The launcher youre talking about is prolly the nexus launcher (helix is 3rd party, but helix doesnt come with any rom unless its a mod). If you need that apk. look for launcher2.apk, and youll probably like helix too.
Search for ADWLauncher. It's a modified Helix launcher. I love it. I don't use the stock rosie anymore.

I'm losing interest in my phone... anyone got ideas for cool new launcher or something to spark love back with my g2x
I can honestly say although this phone is amazing and fast
I miss htc yeah yeah crappy quality bad screens and sense but for some reason every day I debate on taking the mt4g back from my wife LOL
But this screen is too nice and much faster....

There are at least 6 launchers to choose from. Probably more. Take your pic.
1. ADW Launcher
2. Launcher Pro
3. Stock Launcher, lol.
4. Launcher 7
5. Go Launcher
6. Zeam Launcher
also the Regina Launcher..
out of the list, I've gone with Go Launcher as it's the most stable for me. ADW I tried several times but it keeps screwing up, notification bar goes missing, etc.. so I just dumped it altogether
SPB Mobile Shell, not my favorite but lots of eye candy.

I concur. Although SPB Shell is not my choice but surely a beautiful "creation". Lol
P.S. You can also try using the Sense clock widget on your main screen. I've have it setup where if I double tap on the "hour area" it launches the "Go weather app/widget" which is really cool. Also try different launchers thar give u an option to also customize your icons. For example:

Hey guys, just wanted to share an ICS search widget mod that works perfectly on our Notes. (Gingerbread) I found this app on the market awhile back, but was pulled down for an unknown reason. I did not write this app & unfortunately I do not even know who to give credit to.
Either way, this is the best method I've found for getting a high res ICS themed search widget - the voice icon also works perfectly. Just install the APK as you would any other application (file manager, root explorer, etc) and the widget will show up in your widget menu.

You'll need a launcher that allows you to resize widgets, otherwise it will be 4x1 like the stock widget. I use ADW EX w/ 6x1. I know Go Launcher, Launcher Pro, SPB shell 3d, and many others will allow you to resize it.

How did you get your dock to look like that? I have the background image and the ICS icons, however when I set the background that white line touches the top of the icons rather than there being a "gap" like there should be!
I use Kovdev's ICS theme which i believe works with ADW and Go launcher.
Just reporting it worked for me in my Ace...
Downloaded! Great share!!

I would like to make a request for a clock widget similar to the one shown in the galaxy s3 picture below or possibly one similar to the lg ICS weather clock widget shown in the video below that at 2:17

I would be gracious to anybody who could create or find a widget very close to these. I do happen to have a copy of the lg weather widget but I can only use it on the lg launcher, which, although is cool, is not what I want it on.
go to this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1387518
and ask someone to link you to a SGS3 type clock. Many people have released it.
Unfortunately, the weather on UCCW no longer works due to google API being shut down. Any other ideas? I love the clock.
I know a modified LG weather to look like it, but clock is more left.
(I dont log on alot, so i may reply late)

It depends. If you're using touchwiz5 launcher I can give you a flashable zip that has the actual clock. If not, then try something else

I am on the touchwiz launcher. And a zip would be great. The other ones I've tried force quit and say "weather main has stopped".
I'm on a rezound running sense 4.0

Update
You can use any wallpaper you want but it shows as black, some skewed icons in app drawer bottom row. No other issues on Moto Z.
Good news: The folder bug does not exists for the Z!
I cannot find a more satisfying launcher in spite of its "no folder" bug.
The TSF was too much of a Hog.
I have moved on to TSF Shell. It has all the features of Xperia & more. Worth the price too.
If you create a folder it will not last. While the workaround fixes the loss of icons. Lossed folders are also a consequence of the initial bug.
In fact may be the cause of the bug.
Therefore folder creation is not allowed on any homescreen! !
Those on launcher pro plus OR nova launcher can put the xperia app drawer in place of the stock app drawer. Xperia drawer button in center, Nova button on right.

On the msm8960's, which includes the x, the launcher is marred by the Bootup condition where (sometimes) homepage icons/shortcuts are missing. A launcher/settings > restart launcher is a fix.

Can you sort apps by install time?
If you use launcher pro plus or Nova prime, you get tremendous shortcut creation features, to the level that you may add the xperia app drawer to the LPP bar instead of the stock drawer.

Anyone move on to a better launcher?
I cannot find a better.
Well I use smart launcher pro 3 for my default launcher it keeps everything organized and neat.
my screen for showing all open apps and opening any one I tap, doesn't show many apps at a time
Here is the screen from my Moto,

Here s the screen from my doogee y6c that shows far more apps
Is there any way I can make the moto show open apps like the doogee screen?
Thanks
My understanding is the recents screen is now part of the launcher.
Try a different launcher, set as default, possibly disabling the stock launcher.
This is not a Motorola issue, it's a change in android.
Also it's recent apps, not running apps. The right name will help you find info.
It's not a part of the launcher. It's just an Android 9 Pie recent apps menu redesign.

Other sources say the functionality was moved into the launcher. So a 3rd party launcher could help after disabling the stock launcher.

It's not a functionality of the Moto launcher per se. Maybe they moved it under launchers control in general? If so that's an odd decision and the first I've heard of such a thing in Android. Also I don't see any alternative option in Nova launcher, which I'm using , and which is usually up to date with this kind of stuff.

I don't have a pie device currently. Just some stuff I saw looking for info.
http://www.xda-developers.com/android-pie-recent-apps-customization/
There's a Magisk module (QuickSwitch) that can be used for changing which launcher handles the recents functionality.
