Normally I wouldn't post about an app on here, but this app just wowed me. The sending of SMS from your browser without touching your phone is something I have been looking for a while (current apps are iffy).
You can access your system files/SD Card, look at pictures, bookmarks, call-logs and installed apps.

I highly suggest giving this app a shot.
Awesome find, this app is really well done. Frankly, this should have been built right into Android.

Sorry but are you jokeing you have loads of the same type of apps. Close the thred.
Sent from my Pulse Mini using Tapatalk
No I am not jokeing and I know I have some apps of the same kind and that is why I am asking the members which one they thing I should keep and which one I should remove.
Do the brave thing and delete everything. You'll soon realise what you need.
Seriously, I stopped reading the list when I saw, like, 5 news readers. Keep Pulse (or your favorite if it's not pulse), and delete the rest. Delete any news apps, and find the address to its RSS feed. Add those feeds to whatever reader you kept, and you've already eliminated at least 5 redundant apps.
Use the same strategy for everything else. You should be able to tell when two apps are doing the same thing. Just pick your favorite and delete the rest.
Edit: Are you kidding me? 5 or 6 file managers. I would stick with Root Explorer or SU and delete the rest.
I'm gonna leave it at that, because that is way too many apps. Good luck streamlining.
Looks like a list of downloaded warez, and you're just trying to figure out which ones to use.

AAAH! MY EYES THEY BURN! dude litterally. what are you tryin to do go app crazy? CM6.1 has it's own file manager that works great (once the full version comes out i'll be happy) as for all the double apps get rid of em. literally why so many apps. only keep the ones you will use not the ones that will sit and collect fragmentation (hahaha fragmentation kinda like dust is to objects).

I was thinking the same thing when I saw both Root Explorer and SU on the list, not to mention all the other duplicate-function paid apps.
@OP: You should listen to the dude who said to delete everything and start from scratch. And with no wares this time.

Do you have all of these apps installed and running on your phone?
Sounds like you would have some performance issues with these apps, narrow the list.
Do a Google search for the "app" name + "Android review". When I am looking to accomplish a certain task, I Google that on some review site. This will narrow your scope.
I have not, I repeat I have not downloaded these apps from waez or as a package but spent time on appbrain and install each and EVRY app I listed and tried them, th initial liost was 500+ apps, I have narrowed to 200 apps, I just wanted to know which ones people think are the ones worth keeping, the reason I have shortlisted these are because I like the functionality and Ui, however it could happen that some function is available in app x and also in appy but I don't know yet (not played enough), but people on the forum are able to point that out.
Most of the apps listed are highly rated and popular.
I have updated the list by cutting down on some apps.
i will give reason for each app, once i find some time.
That's defo a warez list lol.
You wouldn't have listed all the free version and paid versions if not.
No way you'd have paid for all those apps without trying them.
Made me lol in rl.
Use whichever you feel more comfy using.
Good luck
edit... quick Google search I just found your current list in a wares torrent. In the same order.... Lol

And for every app group (be it warez or not), there is not simply an app that beats them all. It all depends upon your interests and personal preferences, and no one but you can decide what is the app out of a group that fits you most. So please stop asking others to do a work you only can do yourself.

I have actually been felt very offended by the fact that members feel that I am using from torrent or warez. As proof here is the list on appbrain:
appbrain .com / user / mohitgarg / need-to-test-install
appbrain .com / user / mohitgarg / faved
And mr leetvtr, eff off, i could find the apps u use in a torrent too.
If I wanted to keep them and be a horder I would not have listed them, the whole purpose was to get input from people about what they feel about an app and if they would discourage the use of a particular app for some particular reason.
I actually did try all of them for less than 22 hours (paid) as I wanted to try and then get a refund, thus didn not have enough time to play with them, but these r the ones i liked in terms of first impression. I actually have tried many more (paid too) apps but did not like them and thus needed your help, what a friendly society, really!
Cut down to one newsreader. For social apps, I'd use Facebook, TweetCaster, GoChat, and Tapatalk.
This combination provides the best coverage of features with the smallest footprint on your phone.
I would also go with Winamp for music, and YXPlayer for movies, since they each offer the best quality and broadest compatibility of their respective media types. I'd also cut down to just Astro and Root Explorer for file managers. While Astro may seem redundant, it's been beneficial to me to have a "pedestrian" file manager, and I also find Astro's zip manager more reliable. Only keep the Google Apps you are actually going to use. I can almost guarantee Google Sky and Goggles will just end up collecting dust in your app tray. The majority of the apps you have listed are pretty specific in purpose. If you aren't using then, and aren't sure if you need them, back then up with AppMonster and uninstall them. You'll always have then to reinstall from your SD if you every want to try then again. That's about all the advice I've got.

Thanks for the constructive criticism, higly appreciated.
I have updated the list, need more suggestions.
I've got a rooted SGS4G. I still have the stock ROM since I run the phone as a PDA.
I got rid of the social and entertainment apps, and rooting was the only way.
Now Google maps is driving me crazy. I just want the coordinates, I live in this town so I know what's around and will not use an entertainment guide, want no part of Latitude. The stupid app just updates everything and I can't move it to the card or get rid of the extras. If I freeze it, Weatherbug Elite isn't happy. It updated yesterday, I undid the update with Titanium, and it updated itself again today.
I just might want a map sometime, so I don't want to delete it.
Anything suggestions about getting control over this stuff?
you realize that places, navigation, latitude are all a part of google maps. if you dont use it, dont put it on your homescreen and you should be good. let maps update because its helpful. use launcher pro or an app that hides apps and hide the app from your app drawer and you're fine.
dont try to mess with it because it is an integral part of the phone...
im not sure if that helps; im not 100% sure what youre trying to do
It doesn't. I don't need the maps - just the coordinates for astronomy and weather.
If I want a map, I'll download from mapquest on the computer and turn it into a pdf. Or use the printed page. I prefer print maps, I don't need a map to navigate.
If I can tell MS to get lost even though they say they own the latest OSs, then I should be able to tell Google the same. I dislike assumption.
I need a hosts file on the phone.
You could be nicer about it so good luck with what you're trying to do. I don't think it can be done to be honest. whiskey or acid may help you out

Backup with titanium, delete with titanium, restore when needed with titanium.

I've been doing that. I have a question about TI backup. I told it to delete the Kindle App, and using manage apps on the phone, Kindle is still listed. Did TI actually remove it?
I can't use Kindle as a reader since it's only linked to Amazon's bookstore. I like Manybooks and Gutenberg project and you can't read them on either the Kindle or Nook apps. It's funny that I could read any file on the Nook Wifi I had.
The phone is rooted and unlocked. I use it mostly as a PDA.
I liked the Palm platform and now enjoying Linux. Ubuntu doesn't assume anything. Mine came with Open Office, but if I'd rather use Libre Office, I can delete Open and install Libre.
The carriers, Samsung, and Google are assuming too much in some cases. There's quite a few that would love plain vanilla Android.
I think you see kindle app after uninstalling because you didn't get rid of correspondent .odex files. Until you do, you're going to see a link to kindle on your app drawer.

Thanks for that info. I am not familiar with Android extensions.
There's a couple of apps that will allow you to move stuff to the card. I have App2SD and am not impressed. I can understand some of the built in programs not being moved, but I have a financial app that I bought that won't let me move it.
Do any of the other move to sd card apps work any better?
Since I'm rooted, can I use a firewall to stop the updates? I was looking at Droidwall, but I'm not sure about IP tables.
I read in another section about low memory, I've done most of that, and there's still high usage from something.
Well i open this thread cuz this forum is pretty much dead so the intent of this topic is to share useful applications so lets begin.
The first application that I will recommend is:
Floating stickies
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...lbml1cy5tb2hhbW1hZC5mbG9hdGluZy5zdGlja2llcyJd
This app its great, its like having "post it" (yeah that pieces of paper with glu and diferent colors) on your android, give it a try, very nice if u want to take a note fast.
Puffin Web Browser
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwxLDEsImNvbS5jbG91ZG1vc2EucHVmZmluRnJlZSJd
A nice browser, it has Flash player support and works great.
Hide it Pro
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5zbWFydGFudWouaGlkZWl0cHJvIl0.
A cool app for hiding things, like pics, videos, appas, docs etc .. on the app dock the aplication is called "Audio Manager" just open it, long press on the logo and the real app opens, very nice app.
This are some apps u can share your apps to i will upload more later. :good:
AirDroid
You can connect to your phone from your computer direct from browser when in the same network. A lot of tools to manage your phone, like upload files from computer to phone, download files (include apk) to computer, view and reply SMS from computer and send a command to phone open something. Great for me. And yet in beta, the 2, what will possibly access by internet.
OpenSignal
Find the tower from your carrier (with a compass), reset your network signal when not responding (no more airplane mode on/airplane mode off).
Myscript Calculator
Let's you draw equations and other calculus giving you the answer. No more time loss trying to find symbols to complete any equation or formula.

Hi all
As the title says I'm looking for an app (paid or free) that will allow me to freeze apps and services on my Androids.
I am not having much luck searching the Play Store. I have come across a few, but they don't have the abilities like I detail below.
At the moment I am using App Quarantine Pro and while it mostly works it has some quirks and I cannot fully rely on it. Added to that it has not been updated in a long time and is, I consider, abandonware. The chances are it will work even less reliably on Android Marshmallow
The feature that AQP has is the ability to create groups to freeze apps and with a couple of taps you can freeze/unfreeze all of the apps in a group. Each group can have a widget, too, making it even more useful. Within that widget you can even choose to start individual apps, too. It's amazing!
Chef's Freezer is very old, not reliable like AQP on newer OS.
Link2SD Plus you can only freeze/unfreeze apps one at a time
Same for SD Maid Pro and Root Uninstaller Pro.
App Freeze is not bad, but you can't group or group widget
Disable Application is not bad, you can create a shortcut for each app, but no groups or group widgets either.
Disable Bloatware is more an 'app hider' which does not suit my needs
Freeze App does have the shortcut facility, too, but again no groups or group widgets.
None of these seems to touch services either, though one that does all services, too, is probably expecting too much.
I know that Titanium Backup Pro has a label/widget facility and would satisfy my requirements, but, and I hope this makes sense, I'd prefer to keep TBP for backup operations and not have loads of labels for quarantining apps mixing in with my existing labels for running certain types of backups. I will use TBP if I have to, though.
I should clarify further I am not looking for, or interested in, apps like Greenify or such hibernation apps. I want the app to be locked totally until I choose to run it manually.
Hopefully someone knows of an app that will meet my needs.
I was on OOS and recently switched to crDroid. Probably the only thing that I really miss is the utility called Parallel Space which allowed me to have two copies of the same package. It worked seamlessly. However, ever since I have switched to crDroid, my options are limited. Any dual space app that i try from the Play Store are either clumsy or bloated. I am looking for a worthy replacement for OOS' Parallel Apps. The best app I could find was 'Island'. But it is more of a sandbox app. To use one app in Island (ex. WhatsApp), I need to add more apps to Island (Adobe Reader to view pdf, Contacts apps to access contacts, etc.)
So I want to know what apps are you guys using, and if possible also tell why. Thanks.
