Hellow all,
yesterday I decided to change my launcher on my X10
and I found launcher pro on the market
I also installed home switcher (it asked me to install if I can't open launcherpro)
well... what I want to ask is
1. Is it ok to have two launcher in my X10?
because when I installed launcherpro and reboot for the first time, it just went into a forced close loop for about 3 times..
I have set the launcherpro as my default launcher
2. Does the battery decline very fast under laucherpro?
I installed launcherpro, home switcher and adfree yesterday and the battery just declined from 20% to 8% in about two hours
I had never seen this before...
can somebody please help me
I have launcher pro on my x10 and it works great. I dont use home switcher. And no, no battery drain.
how can you open up launcherpro when there is the original one without home switcher?

You should get a option to choose between Launchers.. go to apps-manage apps-find the launcher(default), clear the default action- go back to homescreen-enable chosse launcher as default-pick launcherpro.

Is it done in root explorer?
I cant find the launcher(default)
Is it in the system/app?
I found only SemcHomeL.apk
Go to Settings->Applications->Manage applications->Find Launcher(not LauncherPro), tap on it-> Clear defaults..
Then tap the home button, and choose LauncherPro

This!
All you do is go to Settings \ Applications then find your default home launcher and clear everything, then when you hit the home button, it will ask you which home app you want to use.
I did it step by step, don't judge me!
hey...i just downloaded the go launcher on my xperia x8..but when i press the middle key a window appears that asks me with which app i want to continue..how can i just pick one of them and keep it as the default app? thanks..

Option A: Uninstall a launcher (for example Go Launcher) and it will ask again.
Option B: Go to Settings-->Applications-->All apps-->"The launcher you are using by default right now" (In this case Go Launcher)-->Delete default config or something like that (scroll down to see it).
Option C: Search in the market for Home Manager (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.carp.HomeManager&feature=search_result)
You re right again..thanks pal
Ok.. So here's the issue. I'm using Nova Prime.(This might not matter which launcher you use) And I noticed that if I uninstall Nova and use the stock launcher again, it shows shortcuts of things I have downloaded. Problem is most of these I already uninstalled while using Nova. But they still show on stock launcher. Is there a way to stop the Note from creating a shortcut icon on the home page so this doesn't happen? I really don't want to keep using a different home launcher knowing that in the background it will be creating home page shortcuts on the stock launcher. As I said when this happens they are present even If I uninstall the app while using a different home launcher..
Am curious to see if anyone else can recreate this issue. To do so, install something from the play store while using a different home launcher(Nova would be best since its what i'm using) and make sure to set Nova or whatever you are using to default then uninstall the app and uninstall the launcher. You should now see the app icon shortcut still present on the stock launcher and when you press it it says app not found or something.
Anyway thanks . Keep in mind if you uninstall your preferred launcher you will loose your settings so do it only if you want to. Either way I hope there is a way to stop our tab from creating "desktop shortcuts" in the background of other launchers:silly:
i think u can disable "create shortcut in desktop" in play store's settings

Auto add widgets is the one, if you uncheck it there will be no more shortcuts on homescreen when you download from playstore.

Anyone know how to delete the home page with the widgets on it? I can delete all but one widget.....
You probably could have combined posts since you're asking two things that are somewhat related.
I'm not sure if you are on stock launcher or not, you weren't specific, but assuming that you are what you can do is pinch to zoom out on a home screen and then tap and hold onto a screen and drag that to the top bar where it says remove. Keep in mind that at a minimum you must have one , magazine ux page and one standard page when using the stock launcher.
Didnt think they were the same issue.
What I wanted to do (stock launcher) is get rid of the screen (now I know its the magazine ux) and only leave the home screens with the apps......
Guess thats not going to work......

You could always replace the stock launcher with something else. Nova and Apex are popular choices.
If the Magazine UX isn't your cup of tea I'm guessing you'll find the customization of Nova to be great once you start diving into resizeable widgets, smaller margins and additional row/column options.

Hi, can you please expand on how Titanium backup would be able to get rid of the magazine widget page please? Or were you just kidding around?
Am I the very 1st human to figure out a way to stay on stock touchwiz launcher & remove the magazine widget page?!?!? BUT there is a HUGE sacrifice,.,. BUT maybe a fix can be made to it so ALL Touchwiz tablet users can be magazine widget page FREE on stock launcher!
On mine I simple went to settings > Applications > All > Magazine UX, and disabled it...
Before I replaced Touchwiz with Apex, that is.
We aren't talking about the app/apps, we're talking about the entire screen where those Widgets are..

1) Perform the "pinch to zoom out" command on the home screen
2) Select "Home screen settings"
3) Uncheck the "Content Home screen" option
Don't know if you still need this, but I came here wondering the same thing and just now figured it out

Using Nova:
Get into the home widgets selection, add a Nova widget of type Activity, then scroll the list until you find Settings, expand it and scroll up to the Battery item. Select it.
There you can also find all the possible shortcuts.
(I've translated the menu items from my Italian version)
Trying to add App Mgr using Nova Activities. Doesn't work. When I click or hold the setting it opens App Mgr but doesn't add it to home screen

If you use QuickShortcutMaker
it works fine
See screenshots.
Thanks. But got it to work finally. No need for another app.

any chance you could share how this is done?
To be honest , not sure. I just kept trying normal processes for adding widgets, then choosing nova activities, and under settings there are a ton of options for apps/app mgr, I kept trying different ones and one stuck.
Can not use for nova launcher.

Thanks for this.
The only thing that worked for me (Samsung S9+, Android 8.0.0) was the Nova launcher. QuickShortcutMaker went through the motions, but didn't actually put a shortcut on the home screen.
The Nova launcher works a treat, but why do Samsung oblige me to replace their launcher within the first half hour of owning their otherwise very nice phone?
I always switch on "Do not disturb" before going to sleep, as I use my phone as an alarm clock, so need to leave it switched on, but of course don't want alerts all night. As you can imagine, the last thing I want to be doing when I'm tired is effing around with settings, so having a shortcut to DND is essential.
The other shortcut I created was to the "Change Home" setting so I can easily switch back and forth between Nova and the "Samsung Experience" whenever I want. And you know something's going to be dodgy when they call it the "Something-or-other Experience"
Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!

it may be necroposting..but I'm having this exact same issue on android 10..I'd be infinitely happy with some sort of widget for this task...
theres a way to do it via the widgets screen when using nova launcher..I cant remember the exact steps for it.
