ok i cannot "borrow a friends sim" to activate because t-mobile is nto very common in my area of living. but i have a mytouch 3g

how can i bypass the activation screen? can i do a soft root? help me friends. i know its possible. btw i dont wanna use a goldcard because i dont have a sd port on my laptop.
i find it utterly surprising that NOBODy knows how to do this. surely someone knows a trick.

Ok, I have been looking trough the web to find the latest RADIO for a 32A Magic (Sapphire) with no success...

Somebody already told me that there is a newer RADIO but I don't know if it will fit my device (RADIO - 2.22.19.26I)...
Well... I'm asking this because I haven't found any info about the radios for the magics and I don't know (how I said) whats the latest radio and whats the better radio for a 32A device, and in another hand, I can't seem to be able to connect to 3g networks in my countr (I can only get into Edge)...
Here in Chile, the company Entel PC already bring the HTC Magic (32A) to the people, it has a perfect SPL so the only way to root it is by the goldcard metod, but after root the device, it loose the 3g, edge, etc connection... So you can use the phone but not the internet.
I know I've already make a topik asking for help, but I decided to create this one as a way of helping others with my same doubts...

I don´t know about any new radio but i can tell you that in my city(Viña del Mar) i have 3g, but when i go to Santiago i only have edge(strange thing).
Since i installed a new rom(after changing the perfected spl) i have been having a lot of problems with my internet(wifi, 3g or edge), some times it doesn't work and after i kill al the apps, it start to work again.
If anyone is also experiencing problems with the connections and knows a solution for it, i would be very greatfull.
Is 3G even available in your area? Since you have a 32A board, I believe that that is the latest radio for your phone. Do not put in the 2.22.19.26I. That is 32B.If you have edge, you should be able to access the internet, because the phone will work off of edge, 3g, or wifi.

If you bought it in australia, did you make sure that the hardware of the phone will support 3g for your country? Like, for example, the HTC Hero phone from Europe will not get 3g service here in the states. The best it can get is Edge or you can always connect it to WiFi because the hardware is not compatible to accept the 3g signals that T-Mobile offers.
Just a simple question for everyone who knows... will my HTC MAGIC (32A) work on the Chinese WCDMA 3G?

I've checked the info about my magic and supports the 900 - 1900 and all the things we use in Chile.... So yeah, it supposed to have 3g...
Another thing... I've noticed that Entel Magics comes with a newer version of the radio... Might this radio work for my magic???
And how can I make a dump of a Magic with perfect SPL???

I want to hardspl my phone so I can use some custom roms but am a bit worried about turning it into a brick!
My Phone: Touch Pro 2, 3g, Orange UK Branded. WM 6.1
First thing is that I don't know if my phone is CDMA? I have read a lot of stuff around but cannot find a definitive answer?
Also, I have read a lot about custom roms and hardspl and am getting conflicting information. Can I actually HardSPL my device? Which HardSPL version do I need to use? Will it really wipe my phone clean of all the data?
I've also been reading about radios, will the HardSPL knacker my phone, will I be able to use any new updates from my carrier? Will it have any damaging effects on using 3g, hsdpa, edge etc, etc.
If anyone can help I would be very grateful as I want to get the most out of the awesome device.

just done some digging and think my phone is HSPA/WCDMA.

but can anyone out there confirm this for me or is there another way to check this.
Also if it is HSPA/WCDMA is there a way to HardSPL it?

If you are on Orange UK, you have a GSM phone, not a CDMA one.

Hi all,
Last night, thanks to jianC, I was able to put Cyanogenmod 7 on my old HTC Merge. I was thrilled, until I realized I had no "phone" icon on my screen, and no 3g service. WiFi works, as do all the apps I tried. But I can't actually make or receive calls. My phone is a Verizon, and is perm-rooted and s-off. The radio version is 1.06.00.0910. I suspect this is my problem, but haven't been able to find anything on the internet to help me upgrade the radio. I've reverted to 2fast4u's xfusion rom so I can use my phone again, but I'd really like to get cm7 working. Can anyone help?

Are you rooted? What are your bootloader details? did something happen to cause your touch going crazy or did it just happen randomly one day?
Did you run the RUU for your carrier? Have you tested to see if the wifi is weak when connected to different wireless networks or just one?

Hmm well, if an RUU did not fix it and you are experiencing this with all networks, I would be inclined to think it's a hardware issue.

Can you give more detail or specifics, and quantify this at all? "Very weak" doesn't really tell us anything.
For example: you can't get WiFi unless you are standing right next to the router, when you could get a signal 50' away before.
For me, this situation seems like someone has used the AT&T RUU for a non AT&T phone.

get internet Unless you are very close to the modem but with a very very weak sign
before had a good signal. after restore my phone with ruu I started to fail
