I tried many if not all of the tips how to get proper battery status but it still doesn't work for me. My battery stays 100% for hours, then it starts to drop down as it should but the tablet dies at 45%. I tried at this point to reset battery stats using CWM but it didn't make any difference.
(Tried to reset when completely drained and charged as well)
Any other tips?
Thanks
Similar here 95% fully charged then down to 10% bang dead

Same issue here...however i am new to this and not familiar with what you are talking about with using CWM to reset the battery?
I am using Vegan 5.1 if that matters, but it was doing this on tnt-lite before I flashed vegan too.
Also..with either of those roms...my tablet randomly just screams static out the speakers, and needs a reset. It has even done it while sleeping...just sitting on the table for 4 hours and then static out of nowhere without me even touching it. Scared the crap out of me the first time it did it.
To my surprise I managed to get it working today.
I charged the GTAB all the way (turned OFF)
Started CWM ( clockworkmod )
Under advanced reset battery stats.
Rebooted
Drained the battery all the way until it shut down on it's own.
Plugged in the charger and once again reset battery stats in CWM.
Rebooted
Disconnected the charger and killed the battery again.
Connected charger and booted my GTAB and when it started
charging status was 1% and charging
Now if I can find link to download Kernel 2.6.32.9-dirty ( to get Skype working again) my life would be complete

Is this normal. I did try and do a search in my defence.
Yes. It is like that by design. It stops charging at around 95-98%. Its to prevent you from overcharging the battery.

This is a known issue. You can try and reset battery stats in cwm when your battery is charged and/or emptied. It works for some and not for others. I haven't noticed my battery lasting any less when my battery doesn't "charge" past 97%
There have been some discussion on this. I get about 97% myself. From what I've read you may get full charge if you let it drain all the way. I don't do that myself. Very happy with battery life as is.
I used to get 100% before I switched to the Vegan rom.

Either let it drain until it shuts off a few times and then charge it all the way up or if that doesn't work, use CWM to delete the battery stats when it's at 95% (full, with a GREEN light - not charging, with a red light) and then let it drain until it shuts off on it's own.
I did this a long time ago (delete the stats) and it's been perfect since. Charges to 100% and does indeed show battery at almost empty before it shuts off.
Good Luck.
Still no go here but it can get tom 96%... lol
I am sitting a 98% with VEGAn.
I am now having an issue where u can use the device, then I turn it off, and
turn it on the next morning and see about 5 to 10% of my battery was drained.
Confirmed Fix
Confirmed fix for me on Vegan 5.1. Letting battery drain down to zero and shutoff the tablet... reached 100% on next charge. Now the indicator charges to 100% every time.
tried this and still no luck . still get to 95-6% bugger
Vegan here..this is how I fixed it:
1) Drain it till it shuts off, try restarting it a few time to make sure its dead.
2) Once dead, plug it in, boot into clockworkx, and reset battery status (do this quickly)
3) restart, and leave plugged in idling till fully charged
4) use and enjoy a accurate battery level!!

You have to remember that in order to install some apps out there, you have to give them permission to use the internet and to interact with your device autonomously. I have found a few apps that were pulling my tablet out of sleep mode and turning on the wireless to download ads or other updates, and that (along with the length of time to shut back down) was affecting my battery life.
I would say to go back and review what you've installed, and to also check your screen timeout settings. Just doing that saved me quite a bit of overnight battery loss.

Ever since I have flashed 4ext recovery My battery jumps percentages. For example: If i charge my phone from ~30% overnight with the device switched on, as soon as I unplug my phone it's fine, but after about 15 minutes the battery plummets to about 90% without me even using it! Second thing, if I decide to reboot into recovery to flash a theme or mod or whatever the percentage when in recovery mode shows that it is higher than what is indicated when fully turned on?? And once again, if i reboot from there, when the device has turned on the battery has plummeted even further to 50%! Yes I've deleted batterystats.bin and calibrated the battery, and yet still this happens!
I experienced a very similar issue with my last phone (HTC Desire) and that was linked to it being "USB bricked" and was able to resolve my problem.
Thank you all in advance

Wel with my experience (do you have a percentage mod installed?) uot kitchen mods react weird with my device. The battery isn't necessarily draining. The mod isn't representing the actual percentage.
My work.around was as follows
Drain to 2 percent
Turn phone off and charge over night
(this way the battery decides when its full)
Deal with percentage reading being way off for a whole day. When it dies turn it back on and there will be the residual percentage that was skipped over. Let that drain down. Then try and turn it back on (repeat steps)
After phone dies completely then charge once again overnight with phone Off.
Wake up unplug phone, boot into recovery, plug phone back in, wipe dalvik/cache then bat stats. Reboot and unplug.
That's what I do. Sounds like a lot but you get a routine after a while. Ya a lot if people percentage mods do that to me.
Hope this helped
Good luck
I'm mobile right now
I have the same problem with one diference, when battery jump - phone turn off
Hi,
I have recently tried out a few ROMs with my Nexus S to try to get better battery life. I tried CodeName Android and then figured I would try Slim ICS afterwards. I completely wiped everything and installed Slim ICS.
I have observed the following:
- Battery was ~40% when I installed Slim ICS
- I used it until the battery depleted
- Plugged phone into the wall charger
- Started the phone shortly afterwards (~25 minutes) and it says battery is 100% and then the phone randomly shut off
- Phone has been plugged into the wall charger and when I try to start it now sometimes it boots completely and then shuts off. Other times it just shuts off before it finishes booting up. The few times it does fully boot up, it says the battery is 100%
I've read through many postings about calibration but at this point I am not even able to fully turn on the phone even when its plugged into the wall.
Is this expected or is something else going on? I've never seen anything like this when I had the stock ICS. Why would erroneously report 100% but then not even let me fully turn on the phone? Thanks!

Maybe a bad battery?

Battery is fine. I ended up letting it charge a few hours and it now fully boots up and battery is almost fully charged now.
Whats strange is at times, when the battery was close to empty, when turned off and plugged into the wall, it showed the battery as being completely charged so I don't think it was charging. I had never observed this behavior with the stock ICS.

If it happens again I would suggest taking it to a sprint repair

same problem
Even I have faced the same problem whenever I reboot keeping my pfone charging,
This is very normal,
just let the battery drain completely and next time charge it till 100% it will work perfectly,
It happens with me whenever I install new rom.
basically the battery indicator shows incorrect status also battery will drain very quickly later but once you finish installation just let your phone charge for 3 hours . Problem will get solved

Also, you could try clearing the battery stats in clockwork mod recovery

Thanks. So it sounds like its more of a generic issue with ROMS in general as I never observed this before putting on a custom ROM.
I just get my phone after a repair and I see a battery problem: when my phone is charging, about 82%, growth stops. If I shuts down my phone and I back on, it displays 100%.
does anyone know why and what to do about it ?
Thanks
Happened to me once, it was charging rather long than usually, stucked at around 80%, rebooted and it showed 100%. And it depleted normally.
Another time was after flashing a new rom, there was an issue so i rebooted while charging at around 80% as well, rebooted and it showed 100%, but it depleted rather fast from 100% to 90% so i knew it didnt "fully" charge. but charge it the next day and it was back to normal.
So imo it shouldnt be an issue. but hows your battery life?? does it depletes rather fast? U can try calibrating it with battery calibrater which can be downloaded from market. But i read that ds phones calibrates itself after each charge. so no worries there.
Happened to me as well
I avoid rebooting now (unless absolutely necessary) to see that happen again. Ignorance is bliss
I think it may be the battery starting to wear off ??

I have the same issue,
I wipe battery stats in recovery and now it's no problem
Thank you for your answers.
Maybe my batery begins to die but i will try to wipe the battery stats and i will see.:good:
Recently had to replace battery.
Phone was shutting almost immediately after it was disconnected from charger. Charging status when not switched on showed the battery kinda going in reverse. Phone was really odd as it would suggest the battery had 100% charge and then within minutes of disconnecting it was shutting down.
I tried a factory reset/refresh with no change. So I ordered a Genuine replacement battery off flea bay and installed that last Thursday.
Initially phone seemed ok, then wen a bit weird and shut down even though charge was like at 70% or so. Wouldn't restart until plugged in and then in shutdown mode the battery/charging indicator would show 0% and then very quickly showed 70%. Good bit though was it was going up and not down like before.
Fully charged phone overnight. It then seemed really good and lasted until Tuesday with 66% charge still showing. I had not installed FB or Twitter which made a huge difference. Then yesterday it just shutdown again. When plugged in showed 0%, within minutes back to 70% and then charged to 100% in the space of an hour or so.
So I am looking for any advice. Is this just calibration issues that the phone needs to get past. Is it possible the phone has corruption int he ROM.
I appreciate it might be a hardware fault but seems weird that the replacement battery is clearly showing a big improvement suggesting battery was EOL after 2 years use.
TIA

Same problem here i will try to install the oficial rom of xt890 if works i back here if not i don't know what to do
Sooo............issue is still present. Odd thing which I am unable to confirm, due to rnadomness of shutdowns, it that I think it is slowly learning the state of the battery as it originally was shutting down at 70% after 2-3 days on standby. then 66% hen 56%. I did a clear cache partition and a fresh install but still the issue was present.
Clearly the new battery is lasting longer than the old one, just the phone does not seem to know to reduce the charge indicator all the way to 0%.
Anyone any idea why this might be happening.
TIA
G
Just to add i'm having the same problem.
Symptoms started last week running the stock kitkat rom so i ordered and a fitted a new battery. Initially everything looked good phone said 100% left it over night and noticed it had shut off when i came back to it. Plugged it in to the charger and it said 0% so i charged back to 100%, booted up android and almost immediately it begins discharging rapidly, i would say within 15 minutes its back down to 0%.. I've done this a few times now even left it on charge overnight for 8 hours but its still discharging rapidly everytime. The craziest thing is even if it says 0% in android i can still boot in to recovery and flash away so clearly there is charge in the battery its just android thats out of sync.
What i've tried so far:
Different wall chargers/USB leads/Outlets
Wiped everything in TWRP and flashed CM11
Factory Reset several times
Various battery calibration apps
My next step is going to be trying RSD to flash the stock ROM but beyond that i dont know what to do.
I'm experiencing EXACTLY THE SAME ISSUE with my Razr i, replaced the battery and it's still discharging very fast
Eventually managed to resolve my new battery issue simply by fully charging and discharging several times. It started to hold charge after the 7th charge and after several more discharges it's now up to full capacity.
