Simple battery mods, transparent taskbars, and htc clocks - EVO 4G Themes and Apps

CLOCKS ON THIRD POST
I have made some Simple battery mods. This mod show only the percentage no circle no battery image they are just simple. All these mods are Metamorph themes so you can apply this over any themes and not mess it up. I have Red and Green as of right now. I am making other colors, if you have a request for a color let me know and give me and example pic of the color so i can match it for you. You must have the Battery % mod , 1% increments, on you phone. If you do not have to already have your framework=res.apk ready and go here to get it.
to get your framework-res.apk
With root explorer or Es file manager go to system/framework and grab framework-res.apk and put it on your sdcard
With adb
Code:
adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk
1) download metamorph from market
2) place the zip on your sdcard
3) DO A NANDROID BACKUP
4) open metamorph and choose unzip/extract new theme and find the file that
you placed on your sdcard, choose it and let it do its thing
5) press apply theme and let it work
6) reboot phone and enjoy!

Hi roscoenr! I'm running the latest Sprint Lovers ROM, and I like your battery mod. I'm attempting to apply the blue zip following the instructions you provided, but when I apply the MetaMorph, it just seems to hang while updating the framework-res.apk. It has had the little wheel spinning for atleast 20 minutes now. So I'm not quite sure what to do? I'm trying to be patient and wait it out, but should it really take this long?

Anyone with CM6 (nightly, or RC1) using the super circle battery indicator?

From this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=724778
I tried the nightly one, and ran into a boot loop of the cyanogen boot screen. If anyone is using it on their evo, let me know which one you installed, or how you got it to work. Thanks.
Um, by a long day of trial and error...i got it to work, HOWEVER, i had to DECOMPILE the framework-res.apk. Its....tedious.
once i get an un-bcispcpro-modified version created within like 10 mins hopefully, ill post an update.zip.
OK. Ive built them. These both flashed successfully (and worked) on my phone.. I yanked the framework from the available RC1 download and used that. It has no modifications of mine whatsoever other than the battery. So if you have any custom icons or anything, youll have to replace them in the apk.
Heres a screenshot of mine. Keep in mind MY phone is extensively customized. But your battery icon will look like whats in the thread.

he did good. anything using the framework for rc1 WILL NOT WORK with the nightlys. thats why we have to keep rebuilding framework to keep themes up to date with nightlys.
ah damn. well it at least works with RC1. i cant commit to rebuilding it every night..cant say id be reliable because i dont always have the time.
if you want to give it a try, you can decompile the frameworks using APK Manager. Youd have to DECOMPILE both the nightly framework and original and copy the battery XMLs and pngs to the nightly, then recompile and flash.
From the Battery thread:
For the other Phones
The mod can work on all android phone but you need to decompile one of the zip files in order to take 3 xml files (stat_sys_battery.xml, stat_sys_battery_charge.xml & zzz_stat_sys_battery_1.xml) and to take also all the battery icons.
I just want to be clear for all people who don't have the Desire that I am not going to make hundred other zip files for all phones except the Desire because it need a lot of work.
Also, I don't want to waste my time to go on every subforum of each phone in order to make and to update a thread like the one here.
If you want to use the mod in your ROM for an other phone, you have to decompile (not unzipping) the apk.
You should download the excellent tool and easy to use:
APK Manager => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695701
There is also a video tutorial in this thread
You have just to follow the instructions.
Thanks for understanding.

I am with you on decompiling the nightly frame work, but not sure what you mean by decompiling the original.
by original i meant one of the frameworks presented in the battery thread ... I used the three XMLs from framework-res-CM_6.0_RC1-signed.zip (link to posting, not zip file) for the zips i posted. I imagine you could use the RC1 battery XMLs, as long as theyre recompiled in the nightly framework.
wow .. this is beautiful.. i'm a noob to android, but will this work with Fresh 3.1? I've been looking for a numeric battery indicator for some time now.

I was using the htc sense version on the stock rooted 2.2 rom, and it worked great. Just do a nandroid, and flash the zip. The worst that can happen is you get a boot loop, and you have to restore your nandroid.
yeah the ones from this thread will NOT work with fresh.. at least i think.. go to the link posted by the OP.
Here is my own personal modified circle battery that works with the CM6 nightlies. I have been flashing it on my phone for the past few days with no issues. This modification assumes you are using the black taskbar. I'm not sure how it will look with the white one. You must use Metamorph to install it.

I actually found those instructions earlier today. I got as far as adding the .xmls from the decompiled themed .apk to my decompiled stock 2.2 framework-res.apk but I kept getting an error when the compiler got to the manifest..

While this may be a dumb question, I just want to verify;
I don't need to flash anything special for the black taskbar, correct? It's just go into CyanogenMod Settings, and User Interface, Notifications Clors, and check the Custom Notification bar, and make sure black is the color in the color wheel, correct? I know I need to reboot after making changes to the task bar.
Also, are you on the most recent nightly?

Is there a simple way to add one of these to a stock Froyo ROM? I am rooted and have S-OFF, but from what I understand the ROM needs to be deodexed in order to add one of these. Is there no simple way to de-odex the stock Froyo ROM?

what you would have to do is download a rom that is already dodexed. virtuous has a stock
rom that is deodexed
if you flash one of the battery icoms on this it will change some of the stuff to red because its based of my rom. do a nand backup
and try the deodexed rom with my battery patch and let me know how it works out.

I'm currently running SkyRaider 3.3 and I've tried several different roms and it's the one that suits my needs the best. My only complaint is that it doesn't seem like any mods are compatible with this rom. Nor do many people make themes for this rom. Would it be possible do make the circle battery mod work on SkyRaider?

hey man these look pretty slick and i really dig the liquid one. any chance you could make a black version of the liquid? I have a solid white background for instance and id like to have them all black except the 15% and under. red is fine there, orange would be awesome. also im running ultimate droid on incredible so all im asking for is the images, i'll just have to swap out the png's within the framework myself which is no problem but i would only need animations for 0,1,2,3,4,5. although ive wondered if i could implement more animations and battery status levels other than 0,10,20,40,60,80,100. i've never found info on that subject. anyways enough rambling let me know if you can do it your work is appreciated.
Soo, I think something went awry... As you can see in the pics I've attached, on Myn's two point two, when plugged in I get the sweet circle battery icon. When it's unplugged, I get... umm... that thing. Any help? (maybe I can assist the people in the future? lol) Thanks well in advance.

More Batteries for status bar

It seems that a lot of people like my battery icons, every time I post a screen shot somewhere someone always asks "what battery is that?"
So...
These are MetaMorph themes and they work with the latest Sense builds. Your ROM must already have the battery percent on your ROM already for these to work.
NOTE: These have been tested on the following ROMs:
Skyraider 3.0 and above
Wes342's Super-Z
Nils Business_Sense_Desire-Z
I will do some more research and find out what other ROMs are compatable.
The ROMs above use a folder in the framework named "drawable-hdpi" some of the other ROMs use a folder named"drawable-hdpi-v4"
I am currently working on these for the Virtuous 3.1.0 Rom.
I can't express enough how important it is to do a nand backup first, you are modifying system files! Be forewarned, I can not be held responsible for anything that goes wrong.
I have had hit and miss luck with MetaMorph, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I have had a couple of occasions where it has locked up my phone and I have had to restore from a backup.
Alternative method:
If you are familiar with modifying framework files you can also modify your framework-res.apk file and use adb to push it back to your phone.

There are 137 batteries counting the charge images so it takes a lot of time.

Hopefully you done a backup first.
I done some research and Virtuous Rom has a different framework than Skyraider 3.5 and SuperZ ROMs.
It looks like I should have done some more research before posting these.
Restore from your backup and then try this file for the WIFI, it should work for you.
LINK
Let me know if it works and I will make the battery files compatable with your ROM as well.
I will edit the original post.
Well I got it to work using ninjamorph by manually inserting the wifi pngs into the framework.apk. What I noticed about the battery pack is that your script isn.t inserting the png's into the right folder. The icons look great though good work.

You have in your instructions that they work for Sense roms but I just installed the Red mod. battery on CM6.1 so like you said metamorph is funny like that.
I can't get the wifi one to work.. running Uber Z sense rom..
Different ROMs use different framework structure.
I just checked the UberZ ROM and here is what you need to do to make it work.
Go to the theme folder and rename the "drawable-hdpi" folder to "drawable-hdpi-v4"
Then it should work.

Hope you weren't looking for another reserve. But you need to remove the <br%20/> form the original theme link in the OP.

Dude please please please make the red one!!! I loved this theme for cm 6!!! Please man!

Got it installed, looks great. I'd love to see a red version. It matches my phone better (red back + the speaker grille of course). I've been running Red Remix and practically everything is themed.

How to use zip themer
1. Install ZipThemer from the market if you haven't already.
2. Download the morph packages you want to use, do not extract them, leave them in .zip form.
3. Move all the morph zips for a theme that you want to use to /sdcard/ZipThemer.
4. Make sure USB Debugging is enabled.
5. Open ZipThemer and hit the +Theme button to select the .zip you want to use.
6. Repeat Step 5 until all the .zips you want are selected.
7. (Optional) Select *Output to rename the zip whatever you want, just make sure it still says .zip at the end.
8. Hit the Build It! button. It will ask if you also want to create an undo.zip. I suggest you do.
9. Reboot into recovery, select - install zip from sdcard, then select - choose zip from sdcard, then pick the .zip you made.
10. Reboot. Done.

Great theme. One of my favs. One suggestion and also kind of a gripe... could you make the apps in the app drawer the same color as the rest of the theme. Like the apps are green instead of matching.

[THEME][EP3HA] Feelin' Blue v1.0 (10/12/11)

Well, I got people asking for a blue theme, so here is my first shot at it. I don't know how people will like it, it is very blue...I will work on it as people make suggestions. So let me know what you'd like to see changed.
Alright, I believe I have a good working version ready to go here, so here are the downloads.
Feelin' Blue v1.0 with CRT animation
Feelin' Blue v1.0 without CRT animation
As requested by jetsman:
v1.0.1 changes the signal bars and wireless network (3g, 4g, 1x) to be blue. It also removes the location icon.
Feelin' Blue v1.0.1 without CRT animation
Feelin' Blue v1.0.1 with CRT animation
As requested by mrtruckincowboy:
This .zip can be used in conjunction with v1.0 or v1.0.1. It will only change your battery icon appearance to this

If you can show me a picture of the battery icon you want I'm sure I can do it. The one I see is the round one with the number in the middle? It's already blue though, or do you want the text blue?
Edit
I think I see what you want.

Yea, it's definitely blue haha. I am actually pretty happy with it, it came out a lot better than I expected it to. Now what I really should do is sit down and make a truly coherent theme...but alas that takes time. Anyway, here is the battery I'm applying right now. It'll be done in a couple of minutes.
EDIT
The OP has been updated with a download link
Very nice look. Like the battery as well. Thank you for the quick fix. Thank you

Weird...I just redownloaded it and flashed it, worked fine, I'm not sure why it wouldn't work. You can use root explorer or some other file explorer to copy framework-res.apk into /system/framework/ and then immediately restart the phone. That should also work...

Rocking Humble 4.22 with feeling blue theme ..... nice !!!!
Wow so blue lol. I'm diggin it though. I had the same difficulties flashing the battery modded icon in recovery, but I actually like the stock one so I'll stick with that...
One request though, how difficult is it to change the color of the little unlock button on the aosp unlock screen? That's the unlock screen that humble uses and right now the button is green.

I can't really go around attempting to retheme other people's themes, but if you upload the apk for the lockscreen I can change it.
Thank you very much. The screenshots look great, gonna flash this asap.
Check your pm.
