Auto Rotate - EVO 4G Themes and Apps

Hey Everyone
Can anyone tell me why auto rotate on the home screen is not an option for sense roms? I enjoy the look of the sense roms but like the home screen rotate on non sense roms. Is there a package I can install to turn on the auto rotate?
Sent from my Evo using XDA App

Htc didn't think it was necessary since as far as i know they haven't so far released a sense phone with a keyboard. Auto rotate should be added to the evo shift 4g. Maybe once that gets released the feature may be added in roms

I know LauncherPro support autorotation, but you won't get the Sense look or HTC's widgets (although the LP Plus widgets are similar).

[Q] Does Sense rotate?

I installed the Gravity Home wallpaper available on the market, uninstalled it, and i think it killed the rotation of sense. Everything can rotate except Sense.
But i don't remember if it used to rotate before. Can someone tell me? And if it used to rotate, any idea how to get it back?
Thanks
Sense 3.0 (stock) does not rotate. I am hoping a dev can unlock that potential in a ROM though. Anyone know if that is even possible?
Thanks i just needed to know that

[Q] Sense Issue

I have a small problem with 'HTC Sense' in my stock ROM, when the phone rings and I try to pull it from my pocket, I always found that whether I mistakenly answered or cancelled. This is due to the slide up to cancel or slide down to answer in 'Sense'. Is there anyway to avoid this? or is there any application to allow me have the slide right or left (like the original Android one)? or can I disable 'Sense'?
Thanks in advance for your help

you can try a custom ROM with sense 3.0 ,3.5 or you can try cm7,miui
the lockscreens on these ROMs should prevent this from happening
An alternative that doesn't involve rooting, would be to use a different launcher. This would be the "disable sense" approach.
I recommend Launcher Pro. It has stacks of options, its smooth, and can be skinned/theme like sense.
You'll loose the HTC Widgets, but there are third party alternatives for all of them on the market. Launcher pro also has some Widgets if you buy the full version.

that's a big inconvenience. One of the prime reasons I rooted. You can try one of the sense ROM Ports.

You will have to use an alternative lock application to prevent this. I use go launcher but still get the sense lockscreen. Use widget locker or any other lock application to prevent getting the sense lockscreen.

ICS style Lock Screen

I came across this on google:
http://android.modaco.com/topic/347592-replacement-ics-style-lockscreen/
Basically it just shows you how you can get an ICS styled Lock Screen for the Sensation! It's great and has been running really well. The article says:
Download:
1. Magic Lockscreen: HERE
2. ICS Style Theme: HERE
How to use/install:
1. Install app, then theme and use app to select the theme. The app will walk you through some steps to show you how to use it, but..
2. Select the Magic Lockscreen as your Home Launcher default. Then the app will ask you which launcher you want to use as your main launcher.
Screenshot:
Attached at bottom of post
I use the Rosie/Sense, and I noticed that doing this the way that the app tells you kept making Sense reset every time I hit the home hey. To fix this, I use Home Switcher (free on marker) and selected "Set as default" for Rosie/Sense launcher which fooled the Magic Lockscreen into staying active when I love my phone, and fixed the issue with Sense. It actually runs very smoothly for me.
Not sure what it's like if you use another launcher if that may have problems with resetting so often either, in which case, try Home Switcher and choose set as default for your launcher.
Works On:
InsertCoin 3.3.x - Working reported by tjd319
CM7 Alpha 9 - Working with slight flash before lock and after unlock reported by dvandit21.
ENERGY (Oct 18 Version) - Working reported by dansharpy

Work on CM7?
Also works perfectly on Energy (18th oct version, not tested on 22nd oct version)
Thanks for the guide, looks awesome, especially in fullscreen mode!!
Thanks for sharing, works great with InsertCoin 3.3.7
Working on Energy Oct 22, but it's noticeably laggy. The built-in ICS lockscreen that certain ROMs like Bulletproof have is much smoother.

Very pretty lockscreen, though I still preffer sense weather's one.
I will definitively use it with MIUI later
Laggy and kinda ugly...
Seems like a very low resolution lockscreen. Anyone else notice this, or is it just me?

I would use the ICS lockscreen if it was FAST and had sharper resolution. It looks neat, but just cannot stand a laggy unlock. Is this what everyone is finding, or should I try reinstalling it?
Matt
i have the same thing like you, weird unlock each time, i think the probleme was the aplication and not instalation

i am using the milocker for a not-root HTC sensation 4G, and is looking awesome...the only thing that i am nitpicking is that there's very little english translation, but well some you win some you lose...

This is the way to go, closest one I've seen and more options than you'll ever need.

Here's what it looked like on my evolution, the first is a stockish look, the second is with simi clock widget. It's a paid app, but well worth the cash.

[Q] has any one ever considered........

well I have tried every launcher on the Android market and found non to my taste..... I like the Sense that comes stock on the Inspire 4g, "BUT" as I was playing around with the Launcher Pro, I really like the "Dock," "Dock background" and the "Transition Effect" the visual effect used when switching between home screens. Is there anyway I can get those just mentioned on to my HTC Sense 2.1? the only reason I don't like Launcher pro is because it does not have alot of widgets like HTC Sense does, any help????? thanks in Advance.

call up HTC. Other than that, you cant get a personalized launcher to that specifics unless you make one yourself. And with sense 4.0 working its way out, you wont see as much development for older sense versions. and each launcher can have tons of widgets, just the main ones dont come with a lot of built in. go and download whatever widgets you want and you can experience the same as sense.
Thank you for your response, but I have finally customized Launcher pro for my needs by keeping it down to 3 screens and utilizing those app and widgets that I use on a daily basis, works out very well.

If you want widgets like sense then try Android Pro widgets. Not free but do a great job of replacing the sense widgets.
If you want a dock and the actual sense widgets then here's a link to the htc one ics/sense 4 rom

Yes.

Sense 2.1, what your phone came with, had scrolling wallpaper in froyo and gingerbread. The Sense 3.0 roms I used (gb), did not. In aosp/aokp that feature will depend on your launcher.

well... it just seems that all samsung devices have both options! it just amazes me that you canĀ“t do it in this roms!!! it should be an option!
It doesn't always work on those Samsung. I know the Note was having serious issues with scrolling wallpaper. Any Android phone can give you this option. If you insist on running Sense, you will be limited to the features of whichever version you use.
