No clue what you just said???

Stupid things like this go on general not on development section....this is in no way related to development, your just posting a benchmark score ffs.

Is there a point to this?

Thanks for the spam.

Seems like my captivate has alot of lag even this I have the one click lag fix. Any suggestions? Thanks

oclf is not needed. If you are running onix or speedmod you just have to go into clock work mod recovery and enable lag fix and battery mod and bam! Thats it! Look in development for more info on this.

Can I install this kernel through rom manager?
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA App
You have a few options. You can install a rom with the kernel already added which to me is the easiest way. Just follow the instructions on the roms page. You could also place the kernel on the root of your sd and and use something like sgs kernel flasher from the market. It allows you to pick your kernel and flash it.
Look under development stickies and look for how to install a custom rom. It explains it better than I have. Also, backup all data and apps. Use titanium backup and look up how to do a nandroid backup before flashing.

I would suggest to stop using ROM Manager, as it sometimes causes issues with 2.2 and later ROMs.

no... rom manager causes problems with kernels that already have CWM built into the kernels (like all of the customs)
rom manager uses the update.zip method for cwm. which causes problems when cwm is already in the kernel.....
Newbie Question.

Have not used a custom Rom before, but I am also running stock with enhancement and OCLF but getting 1800 scores on quadrant...
What else have you done to your phone besides the purpleliscious or was this rom enough to get you to 2600???
And how is your battery life???
Thank you!

After every reboot I lose root. Any ideas?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
A few others had this issue including myself. Not really sure as to the cause but the best conclusion is that it is due to the issue with that rom. Perhaps try a different rom. Team acids butter rom is very good if you choose that route.

Flash infusion kernel. I assume your on defused?
And for kernel flashing use sgs kernel flasher easy peazzy

Go into recovery and go into advanced and disable it from there
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
Um I went to recovery and advanced and didn't see the option. My recovery is green and then it switched over to a red one and said voodoo. It happened after I selected "key test" and hit the back button. Also I selected the "reboot in download mode" or something like that and a screen came up saying downloading don't shut off. Well it got stuck so I shut it off haha. But nothing bad happened. Anyways I don't know if I have the option. :/

Haha I will just one more question. Can I simply flash it over the kernel I currently have with out any bad effects. And what will be the difference between the two? Besides maybe fixing the bln issue. And which recovery and I supposed to have? That was three questions actually lol

I suggest flashing the Defuse 1.4 kernel - it doesn't do overclocking but it's solid and stable. Don't flash 1.5 - it has BLN too.
Every attempt to implement BLN on our phones has led to flakiness and instability.
Other option - upgrade to Gingerbread, that's where all the kernel development is these days.

Haha I said screw it and went to Infused. Wanna see how this baby runs on that with the tweaks DynamicRam posted. Thanks for the input guys. I'm honestly going to wait until the OG Gingerbread comes out to upgrade. I love having EVERYTHING on the phone work haha
Hey guys I just opened up SetCPU and the voltage tab went away and so did the overclocking. This happened right after I flashed Infused rom anyone know why? Should I just flash the Kernel over top? I mean I was trying to avoid that because of the bin issue

Defuse isn't an overclock kernel. You have a choice of overclocking with some instability, or stability without overclocking.

Phone is supper laggy

So recently my phone has gotten super laggy I believe it has something to do with ram but I am not sure ideas would be helpful thanks...

What rom are you running and kernel?
Sent from my Gummy Charged GBE 2.1 using XDA App
I am hunting huble 5 with the ep1 stock kernel basically the Odin package and I flashed humblecomb theme same issue with gummy.. I hate stock but looks like at this point I don't have much option phone freezes lags big time thinking it has something to do. With ram
Sent from my SCH-I510 using xda premium
It could be do to ram. I suggest backing up your data with titanium then doing a fresh Odin flash of humble 5. Also I would recommend flashing imoseyon's 4.0 gingerbread kernel found on rootzwiki. No guarantee it will work but a fresh Odin flash always works for me

What the difference between stock ginger kernel imosen kernel?
Sent from my SCH-I510 using xda premium
Stock kernel is just what samsung has provided. Imoseyon 4.0 has optimizations for speed and ram. It also has EXT4 voodoo lag fix
Sent from my Gummy Charged GBE 2.1 using XDA App
Actually I have just looked at the humble 5.0 thread and the Odin file contains the imoseyon 4.0 kernel.
Sent from my Gummy Charged GBE 2.1 using XDA App
OK on I thought humble was already voodoo optimized via cmw and rom it self
Sent from my SCH-I510 using xda premium
yeah humble 5 is voodoo optimized. Well i would just backup your data and do a clean odin flash and see if it helps
Give it a whirl tommaroow how do I backup and restore via titanium back up don't quite understand how it works
Sent from my SCH-I510 using xda premium
it would be tedious to write it all out but if you search a channel on youtube called " mobiletechvideos" he has a video about how to use titanium backup. The version in the vid is older but it is similar enough to be used as reference
Sweet thanks I'll report back tomorrow.

OK so. Flashed humble 4 always had better luck. With it works better so far now I am noticing my super user binary outdated will flashing imsoin or what ever kernel solve this.

no it wont. Just go into the superuser app settings and disable the notification for binary update

Titanium backup

No titanium backs up the apk so no download is necessary
Thanks. Also I just went to market and there were like 14 updates available. I went to update all and they all had errors and said insufficient space. I looked at my storage and there is plenty available space! So what did I miss?
