It isn't just a plain black theme, IT IS A GINGERBREAD theme. How the reviewer left that out is beyond me.
Also, why would they mention about 6.x avails le storage. That is so irrelevant lol

well actually im the one who recorded it. And its not the GB black bar. It was modified. Check the signal bar not gb, and the tone isn't.
Next I was just showing all the specs on my phone ok.

My Gps works although it seems to not be to accurate. But that could be the building I'm in at the moment.
I'm running 2.5.7 and GPS works absolutely fine for me.
Pinpoint GPS has been working fine since Fission's inception. Google maps navigation works perfectly fine as does Aura. It is accurate enough to geocache without issue with C:Geo. Not only that, but unlike many other ROMs the compass calibration in the system options actually works in Fission. It's not going to give you good GPS indoors as that is a limitation of GPS technology itself and doesn't work well even with a bone stock phone.
While the stock theme is not GB, per-se, (it is the standard black notification bar that has been default for the past few revisions) there is a GB theme available for this ROM through the Fission ROM Manager and it also adds in the optional animation add-ons (one version of the theme includes the new transitions one does not).
Gps works great on my end

Well, It did not break my phone! It is actually pretty speedy, and everything seems to work, nice job
I guess I will run it for a while and see if it breaks, but so far so good, although I am not a huge fan of the Nexus Launcher, I suppose I can get used to it.

Very Nice.
Music works. tested with android player, mixzing, last.fm, iheartradio
Facebook works.
Video works. tested with mixzing
Youtube works.
HTC_IME works. *shock*
swype installs and works.
camera works
camcorder works and records.
3d acceleration works tested with labyrinth lite and dice
i don't have no real don't works at the moment...

the only thing that doesn't work are the same things that don't work with the original stock mytouch such as wifi tethering and google voice 3.0+

Did you read anything? how can people help you if you dont even know what your looking at. Its for the fender mytouch LE/ 1.2 which is a 32a.
Very good job, I like everything about it. I prefer black/darker themes but this one just works. No problems except for some reason Swapper will not start.Has worked all every other rom and themed version but it will not start th swap partition. Oh well, its not like I "need" it, just got used to having it on in case.

Meltus audio hack says it works but does nothing.
Htc and reg music fc every time they are opened.

id love to get my hands on this as well.
not sure if its allowed, but here is the link for the apk. It works on my Nexus One, but I don't really see anyone using this, its horrible. Keyboard layout is awkward, no autocorrect, and it probably drains the battery.

I'm using Sky Raider's 1.9 ROM and this app doesn't work for me. It installs and comes up but on a black screen with red keyboard and it "sends" but its never received by the person I'm texting. Anyone else have problems with this app?

Duh...can't believe I missed that.
I found a smoked glass theme over at www.droidforums.net by 928droid that works great with our evo's. I just repackaged it excluding the phone and contacts apk's(wallpaper issues) as well as the camera apk and the framework res apk as i'm not savvy enough to port it. However; it looks pretty slick and again none of this work is mine, it's 928droid's. Just download and flash.

This theme doesn't seem work on the latest (5th) CM6 build.
I downloaded and flashed and no go... :-/
EDIT: So it seems that the theme works...partially at least. The notification/status bar doesn't turn black but I notice the "smoke" darkening effect on other views such as the Market, etc. Would be better great if I could get the status bar to turn dark as well... ;-)
If you go to settings and then cyanogenmod settings you can change your status bar color in there to whatever color you want.

Open Market and/or open menu in Gmail and see if you notice any differences (color) by flashing this theme.
roebeet has done it again.. it has a working sounds, gapps, gsensor, wifi,
but no camera, i think if this will be fixed, it will be a beta..

Ive been following this build since 1.0a came out! Its been an amazing ride the past couple of days. Market working helps a million! I use it as if it was a full release. IDK if ill ever be able to go back to any other version of android! Bluetooth Keyboards sync up pretty fast with it too
Honeycomb improves the user experience on tablets greatly. At least from my experience with it.

yeah, market and youtube are the only working right now for gapps..
awesome development day by day.. 1.0 - 2.1 , although alpha build..
You can see your mailbox folders(inbox drafts sent etc) and subjects but individual mails won't open. No message body. Also gmail and gtalk are real sluggish.

needs the extra 50 megs borrowed from cache . For a while was up to 320 mb system but its using 205 out of 250 now.
sounds like if they ever get the browser and gmail to work reasonably well it will be time to take the plunge.
Roe, MrGuy, Clemsyn, DJ_Steve, Pershoot and all of the VEGA and Adam developers are amazing. This is very much a group effort over at SLD, which shows in the sheer amount of progress made on this port. Honestly, I woke up one morning to version 1.2, the next day to 2.0 and that night 2.1.
It's not quite ready for prime time, but I use it as a daily driver. No way I could ever go back now.
Working great so far...
I took the plunge and installed this and it looks great. I'm just going through my favorite apps to see what works and what doesn't. I'll update as I know more.
I just tested Video playback and the only thing that works of course is Moboplayer, but it works great, and even works on files that used on play without sound in Vegan 5.1.1 (they now have sound!).

From what i can see there is not much of a difference between them, so which one is the 'best'? Or do they have different purposes?
I know, i know, 'read through the thread', but come on guys, who wants to read to several hundreds of posts... this is becoming much too big to get an overview

Miui has some things in chinese...different interface ......get used to steelepic blue v4 first.....that's my advice..u can always try the miui first!!

I've run both
I've run both Miui & SteelBlue.
SteelBlue is nice, but it has issues like launcher hanging for 30 seconds, etc.
I was skeptical about running Miui, so I held out.. But I decided to try it (Khals.v1) & it was good, then upgraded to Khal's v2.
Miui runs much faster then steel, the latest Khal v2 eliminated 99.9% of the Chinese. I use English & it is great... Runs like it was designed specifically for the phone by a manufacturer.... + Battery drains way too quick on Steelblue... Miui battery is best I've seen on this phone. MIUI is hands down the BEST!
I agree...miui is good...but then u don't have hdmi functionality available in it!

If launcher is slow coming back, you can try adding this is in your local.prop and reboot. It keeps the launcher in memory. Works well for me.

I used Zeam, with Folder organizer to change icons, and no widgets to keep launcher memory footprint low.
Works well for me until I switched to MIUI, which is faster for me. I don't use HDMI and rarely takes video, so it's a good tradeoff for me.

I agree the Miui's weakness to be the Cam........
after flashing MIUI i must say i'm impressed. Nice and Smooth. The only thing i don't like it the launcher, but i have Launcher Pro at hand
Camcorder MIUI very bad, but ram free 60-80M
I've tried them all and honestly I'm finding stock 2.1 to be the best after flashing it last night for the first time since February, though that could change with further testing... In terms of the 2.2 ROMs Steel Epic Blue is great as is MIUI. I found MIUI to be faster and more powerful though (but 2.1 seems even faster and smoother right now strangely.... ).
