Hi everyone,
I'm using the stock browser on DocRom 7.1.1 with Hardcore 12i 500 kernel.
When using the stock browser and google (.com, .nl, no difference) trying to open a search result 'causes the browser to lag/ wait forever. This only happens using the phone network and doesn't occur when using Wifi.
Firefox doesn't have this issue so my guess is it's either a bug or some obscure setting I haven't figured out.
Is anyone having the same issue or am I missing something obvious?
Sincerely yours,
Jeroen.

Problem disappeared after updating kernel. However, I've had this problem before running another kernel. Oh well, it's gone! ;-)

I know that everyone is having issues of some sort with their xoom but I feel as if mine crashing and restarting may be excessive. I will make this brief but I just wanted to know if anyone else's xooms freeze up and show a graphical error similar to a bad graphics card when in the browser. Here I have a picture showing the issue. And if this is a common error, are there any known fixes?
Looks like a problem with the renderer in the browser, or whatever hardware / software is running it. If it doesn't happen elsewhere its probably just a software issue, just flash a stock image, hopefully that will fix it.

I've had the same issue... random crashiness in the browser... images sometimes failing to appear but coming up after a resize. Things were quite a bit better with flash uninstalled. I tried turning off 3d rendering mode in the browser debug setting and had no video issues but the browser was almost unusably slow. I haven't had the issues in other apps so I suspect the browser is quite buggy.
Hi,
Am loving the tiamat hammerhead rom, but I am noticing a few issues. Hopefully someone can help me out.
I am running the tiamat hammerhead rom. Followed all the instructions to upgrade it from the tiamat 3.1 rom. It's an australian 3g xoom (MZ601).
1. Gallery and camera.
When I take a photo the camera app force closes and the images, although present under DCIM, do not show up in the gallery. It just says no images/videos found. I noticed someone posted on the rom thread that this was an issue for them, but I couldn't see a response.
2. TCP
My TCP connections seem to drop after a couple of minutes. It doesn't seem to matter if the application I am using is active or not. I see this using androidvnc as the connection dies at certain intervals even when I am using it. I also notice the same using connectbot, it just comes up and says connection lost. It would also explain a number of issues when trying to copy bigger files using astro or download bigger files using the browser. I don't see the wifi dropping during this time (I noticed a couple of other posts that mention wifi connectivity issues).
3. SMS
When I was using the stock image I was able to receive SMS messages. I have not been able to using tiamat 3.1 or 3.2. No biggy, but if someone knows a quick fix that would be great.
Thanks,
Matt.
Well after much playing and multiple flashes I couldn't resolve the above issues. Flashed back to the tiamat 3.1 rom and all is good again. Still can't receive an SMS, but as I said that was a low priority for me.
First: Is it just me, or is Google Maps constantly running in the background? Not only is it constantly running, but there seems to be three different instances of it running in my background. Every time I open TasKiller, there's always 3 icons for Maps.
Second: Normally my wifi works, but when I'm at school I have issues with it. My school's wifi requires that I set the 'Phase 2 authentication' to "MSCHAPV2," but when I do that, it automatically resets it to default (which is no phase 2 authentication). I've tried all of the other options for Phase 2 authentication, and every time I close the wifi options, it's back to the default option. Should I use logcat for this?
Maps runs in the background no matter what ROM you're on.

The maps always running issue can be solved by using an app such as autostarts.

I figured that it would start on it's own no matter what, but why are there three instances of it? Nevertheless, I'll try out Autostarts to have it stop coming up on its own.
Does anyone have an idea about the wifi issue?

I created a bogus wifi setup on the phone & I see the same issue; it defaults the Phase 2 authentication back to "None". I am not on Valhalla Black, either. I'm on stock 2.3.6 with bhndven's SMS kernel (3.1) so I think we're on the same kernel.
I don't want to say the kernel is the issue, though. Maybe someone else on here that is on a different kernel can try to create a wifi connection on their phone?
I'll wipe mine later and flash straight stock & see if I have the same issue. Might just be a 2.3.6 bug.

It's not anything bhundven has done to the kernel. Just tried it on my wife's phone and it's completely stock and I get the same results as you guys. After googling the issue it looks like most people were having a problem after upgrading to GB 2.3.4 and up. It looks like it goes further than our device.

Thanks for saving me some time Now the question is why.....
I wonder if its a problem with the certificates that are installed. Maybe they don't play nicely with Android?
Thanks guys for the responses at least now I know it's not just my phone. I'm visiting a friend away from home at the moment so I can't take any action right now, but once I get home, i'll try to google this a bit and see if I can find a solution.

Has anyone figured out why the browser (even in latest JB) still hogs CPU to the point of draining the battery? I had this issue on my Arc S and after manually disabling certain services including the browser itself the issue went away. Now I am on Team EOS latest JB on my TF101 and experience the same issue. I have had to disable the default browser and use Dolphin as my default browser. However I would like to know whether it really is the browser at fault or a combination of the browser and some other app/service?
I don't recall it doing it on a fresh install so I think it must be something else I have installed that may be causing it perhaps.

Hello,
Have you tried using a service (or even the built in battery usage chart under Settings) to identify the #1 user of your battery?
I would recommend ZDBox. I haven't had this issue with the browser, but I did have a bad battery drainage back when I was using Prime 3.2. That was caused by having a full size SD in the battery dock keyboard and leaving the tablet connected to the dock. I haven't had any battery issues since upgrading to stock ICS 4.0.3.
]Hi guys
Anybody got the same issue as im having?
When using the stock browser to view images, some of them dont load fully and part of the image is greyed out.
It doesnt happen all the time but is mighty annoying.
Running cleanrom inheritance with stock kernal but was happening on my locked standard infinity.
Any ideas or tweaks i could try?
I happens to me some times but i think it is perfectly normal, even my pc does that when browsing in bad wifi signal areas. I just refresh the page and everything pops up has it should.
