I have noticed that the Quadrant scores are not really that good of an indication of the phones actual performance.
For example:
If you put your OS on your SD card, you will get AMAZING Quadrant scores, but your phone will be laggy as hell.
Other then the normal score with the better responsiveness.
I am currently running CM6.1.1-alpha8.2 with the patches for video and 3D
Before the patches I used to have a score of around 700 with an ok responsiveness from the system.
After i applied the patches, the interface became WAY more responsive, and the entire spica experience became way smoother and faster.
This cant be seen in the quadrant scores, because now its giving me around 500-600.
Summary: Quadrant scores.. meh, it a nice indication, nothing more.

Little OT but might help some folks; I see you have everything on ext2. Have you tried rebooting yet? My spica didn't survive reboots (won't boot past samdroid splashscreen) without going through recovery and wiping the cache. This was solved by leaving data as rfs.
Running same rom, kernel, and patches as OP. No other mods. No quadrant scores yet.
System/Cache: ext2
Data: rfs

Nevermind my previous post. Seems that both ext2 and rfs is ok and ext4 is the culprit. I have everything on ext2 now.

which ch33ky kernel are you using...ch33ky has the kernel posted for alpha8.3 but nothing for alpha 8.2 i have everything like you but no cheeky kernel...also if one needs to move to 8.3 im fed up of deleting stuff and reinstalling is there a way for backing stuff up for the move to 8.3? from what I can see 8.2 still has more working parts then 8.3!

CM 8.2 should use kernel 010. CM 8.3 use kernel 011 and sssMOD 06c.

Quadrant Score: 670-730 (yonip v.10a)

I get around 700 - 750 Quadrants (CPU and I/O around 1400 - 1600), CM A8.3.2 on Yonip 17a (2.6.32.9), fast, responsive, stable, albeit with a problematic 3G bug, but great overall user experience!

[APP] RogueTools v1.1 - [Overclock & Change Screen Density] - [Updated: 04/27/2010]
I now present you with RogueTools v1.1.
Summary:
This application is designed for the Vogue, Kaiser, Polaris and Nike devices. It allows you to dynamically overclock your device as well as change the screen density.
Requirements:
This application requires write access to your /system so this will only work on EXT2 and NAND installations.
Overclocking Notes:
Overclocking results will vary. Based upon the beta test results everyone was able to Overclock to 500mhz and have very stable results. Above this results really were mixed. Give it a try, I'd love to hear your results.
To download, search in the market for "RogueTools"

Great work !
This is undoubtedly an excellent tool, thanks to Myn!
thanks a lot! great and needed app!
trying at 500mhz
I though that overclock was impossible on Qualcomm MSM7200 processors.
If it works on android why it wouldn't on WM6?
Also *if* it works it could be very harmful to your device.
tried to benchmark with neocore but doesnt seem an appropiate app
wich one should we use? or there is any performance data?
I get maximum 37.2FPS instead normal 28.9
But i overclocked device to real 528Mhz, it possible with "Open Overclocker" app.
It app allow apply RogueTools frequency w/o wakeup, and show real result e.g "400"=384 and "550"=528Mhz.
"Linpack" app i use for testing MFlops.
CaffeineMark is a nice app to benchmark your overclocking. Available in the market.
Can anyone explain me how does it work?
And again, whats so special about android so it's possible to o/c QUALCOMM 7200 processor?

I do not know but there are some facts about android...
-it is possible to enable video acceleration in most devices (that in wm not)
-and now this!!
It is great
now if DZO manage to enable wifi with all the latest updates included that would be almost perfect (BT)
thanks a lot devs!
is there a download link for any of use without access to the market (no data connection?) An apk would be great!!
Thanks!
hey i use you're android version but from sd is there a possibility to make such thing for sd boot maybe in a config file or something like that?

Can you explain how EXACTLY this program works? I mean the main differences and why it cannot be done in Windows Mobile enviroment.
How does it affect battery life?
Im not very keen on mobile device hardware and their capability but something like Undervolting would be cool, as a new feature to dynamically control voltage reduce battery consumtion etc.
is this project dead?

Why? Is available on Market, stable release.
Only one thing unfinished - wrong clock slider, real cpu clock is 96% from this.
E.g 400*0.96=384, 500 is 480 etc.
i wonder if they could port this to windows mobile, as i can't use android..

Perhaps he try to add support our devices into Msm7kCpuSpeed.
With this tool i have stable overclock on Diamond2, up to 768Mhz.

[Kernel] ardatdat kernel v1.6b3 [CWM] (2012-04-06)

Dear all,
As I have already distributed the v1.6b1 (beta 1) to some (many?) of members a week ago. I have been requested to open a new thread such that I could highlight what have been changed and let all testers to express their feelings and opinions to the new kernel in this centralized thread.
First, let me introduce the features of "The New Kernel" ... (not The New iPad)...
1. Stabilized the voltage & frequency setting such that the 'stock' voltage is used without affecting OC stability.
2. As different machine's CPUs are different, OC to 1.35Ghz is not the most stable setting. Instead, 1.3Ghz will be the max.
3. Remove some of the useless codes used in v1.5
4. Pick some of the code difference from the official XWLA4 kernel
5. Add in support to read NTFS & CIFS file system
6. Switch to use the SLUB allocator
7. Disable ipv6 (unless I am told to add it back)
8. Other minor bug fixes
Next, let me conclude some of the comments from members on the beta:
1. Works fine with Titanium ROM 2.1
2. Undervolted it to 750mv @ 608mhz, more stable than v1.5
3. More smooth than v1.5
4. Not as warm as v1.5, so far so 'cool' in temperature
5. No lag, no freeze
So, welcome for more opinions, discussions and findings and let's discuss here. If everything goes right, I will release v1.6 within a few days
** Updated: v1.6b2 has been sent out to around 10 testers for testing
-- reserved --
just got back from long leave...
got your kernel but havent installed it yet..
on your last 1.5 i'm having problem with ONDEMAND mode. it does not smooth after long standby/idle. INTERACTIVE is the best setting for me. hope 1.6 is much2 better!..
gonna test it tonight woohooo!!..

Yes, it should be fine.
Flashing the kernel every time is flashing a 'new' one. There are not any dependency with the previous kernel.
4 days of intensive testing and I've found no probs. Can someone put his undervolting stable results?

Thanks for your report.
As I think you are the only one experiencing that. Could you please elaborate more on the situation. Example: the SetCPU setting / profile setting / screenshot. Lag, how lag, and have you wipe the cache before flashing the new kernel? Have you tried to flash back v1.5 and see the situation. Also, battery drain is fast is strange as I use 'lower' voltage setting that v1.5.
Please help to test more and provide more information such that we could help in fixing the problem. Thanks.

when firstly i installed this i didn't format cache then restore to 1.5 but see ur instruction i format cache and again flash 1.6 since 2 hours flashing it runs quite smoothly now ....... in set cpu i have used 1200 mhz frequency and interactive profile but i doesn't change any voltage.......... please insist me if i have to change voltage either or frequency........
I tested frequency 1100 mhz and I must admit it's unbelievable how much boost i performance gives you clocking with just 100 mhz. I would say it's relatively the most efficient frequency. (if you compare differences between 1 and 1,1 ghz, and then 1,1 and 1,2 ghz).
Where can I find 1,6 version

u can't, it's still being tested, but if you want to participate send pm directly to ardatdat.

I'm still on stock kernel, but will most likely update to ardatdat's 1.6 when released.
Is the performance boost perceived boost under general usage or is it synthetic benchmarks such as Antutu?
It was so funny. If v1.6 is not released, maybe you could all blame him for it.

Kernel and vm messaround, potential lag fix

THOSE SETTING BELOW ARE SYSCTL, YEY I FOUND AMERICA
PROBABLY SOMEONE IS GOING TO LAUGH
Hello,
The one and only thing I was bothering about is why some users can multitask great and I am always not able too.
The reason?
Well the apps are closing too frequently, going out of simple game makes the launcher load again, going back in game makes the game start all over again.
First I thought I need to limit myself and get used to it.
This is not a great multitasker as the iPhone is.
iOS is far from the best system but its multitasking capabilities amazed me.
So where is our problem? Why are we not able to multitask as we should?
Well in the past month I was messing around only with the RAM consumption.
I was aiming at more free RAM and persistent apps, here comes the V6 Supercharger which helps a lot.
But when I was enjoying it I got a call. What happend? Black screen and vibrating phone, that's all, I said to myself "No more playing, I have to answer my calls."
Where was the problem I believe I don't know still.
But with some dev help we might be able to control our phone a little bit more than we can right now with uboot and recovery. Thanks to all of the developers.
What was the problem? The Kernel! I installed ROM Toolbox and just got a look at the app when I saw the Kernel Tweaks.
The mess began, read which setting what does on vm and on kernel tweaks. Increased some, decreased others, tested it didint worked and I increased and decreased others and still the same when I saw this in vm

}
And
And this in kernel
Enabled them, decreased the swappiness (don't know if it has to be high, i increased it the first time to 100 but no change so I decreased it.)
And something happend, I called myself from another phone and there you go, no more black screen, I was able to answer while I was playing Shadowgun Deadzone at high graphics.
And the most amazing part was when I ended the call, the game was still running and I was connected.
In the process of testing I noticed a few freezes just in the launcher when opening apps for like 5 secs and will see what have I done, maybe I messed up something.
Anyways I was able to launch the task killer while the game was running in the background and I am so happy that it works fine for now.
If you read all this, thank you.
If you are developer and you think this is totally wrong I will remove this.
Hey I was wondering what was best settings I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to codes lol but I have a good understanding of it I think
Anyway in rom manager when it comes to performance I noticed io was set too noop and gov to interactive at this setting you get good performance but lags in games
So thinking from previous Roms for GB 21e most always io was sio and gov was hot plug
I'm not too sure what differences are between them in code but do see differences in performance
Any recommendations and maybe quick heads up would be highly appreciated

The setting you are using are perfect.
I was fiddling around with TWRP recovery and tweaking trough rom toolbox. I've set governer hotplug and I/O ondemand. SD boost on 4096kb. In TWRP I've created a swap file of 2GB and a EXT4 file of 2GB on my sdcard. I'm running ICS Darkroom international. In Sysctl Conf i set min free kb to 4096.
Phone is running very smooth and very very fast. I've a total new phone

After flash
I found that there's an updated adreno driver for Nexus 5, and just flashed it to my Note 3 to figure out if it work or not.
I didn't have much expectation since it's different phone even though Note 3 and Nexus 5 share same AP.
But...It just worked without any problem and my phone got Antutu 3D score boost. (I know it's just a score but you know...more is always better than less)
I've tested it with touchwiz N7 rom, CM13, S7E based roms and just got no problem.
So, you can test it if you want
Download
This driver was downloaded from here. (need register) - https://developer.qualcomm.com/software/adreno-gpu-sdk/tools
Nice find. If the benchmark is repeatable, that's about a 33% improvement in the 3d score.
I know the Nexus 5 is also Snapdragon 800 (like the Note 3), but it seems like it's running at Snapdragon 801 speeds (SD 800 max gpu speed = 450MHz and 801 = 578MHz).
If you click the "Info" tab at the bottom of Antutu, what does it say for the GPU frequency range (under Display)? Also what does the "GPU version" say?

It says :
GPU version
- OpenGL ES 3.0
[email protected]@
([email protected])
GPU frequency
- 200Mhz ~ 450Mhz
And repeatable always. 3d score rise when this driver flashed.
I noticed that on the stock 5.0 rom, the a330_pfp.fw and a330_pm4.fw files are stored in /etc/firmware instead of /system/vendor/firmware (which is where the new drivers extract these files).
Is that also the case in marshmallow? If so, you may want to try replacing the /etc/firmware files to see if it makes any difference. It may be using the old firmware files instead.
Edit:
My original *.fw files were identical to the ones in this new driver.
Works
The driver page says these are Marshmallow drivers, but I backed up and tried it on lollipop 5.0, and it didn't work for me (just froze at the first kernel screen). After restoring the backup, the system booted fine again.
This is with the stock kernel that is selinux enforcing, so I'm not sure if that made any difference.

Not really worth the effort for those marginal gains. No difference in real world performance
Well it is obvious that has effect, good effect because it's an update for gaming:
The update brings optimizations to several games including PUBG Mobile, Fortnite, and Honkai Impact 3rd!!

It may have a marginal improvement on the hardware performance but extremely unlikely you'll see any difference in real life performance. The 650 was already very good
Well, test and send report!

T Vulcan 54208 with a 169 increase is a 0.3% increase
C Vulcan 81584 with a 1413 increase is a 1.7% increase
Open GL 82180 with a 487 increase is a 0.6% increase
It's marginal and not worth manually updating for
It's your choice not to implement that! One thing is obvious and that's the time the developers expend to make this and they're realize better than both of us and making such an upgrade will have effect!
So, getting that improvement with simple steps, worth it!
I have made a double test before and after the install of driver , the test was made with 3dMark Wild Life, the result is 3847 and 3872 before and 3802 and 3805 with this driver, so i have lost some power of my GPU
I'm on MIUI global 12.2.4

The only real way to get more out of the Gpu is to overclock it.
I can get just over 5200 in wild life using a frequency of 900Mhz
